This air pump works pretty good for me

This was my second time purchasing this air pump. The first one worked so well I wanted another. It creates plenty of air bubbles. Though when turned up to full power I hear a humming sound. It hasn't been an issue so far as I have fans that are noisier than the air pump. Other than that I have no complaints and feel that it was worth the price I paid.

Don't buy used.

I have a 2 port ActiveAqua and works good. Ordered 4 port. It's a little noisy but doesn't matter bc im using it in my basement. No issues with quality. Unit was delivered with what appears to be food on the plug and a hair on the cord. Amazon needs to do better at repacking returned items. Wasn't worth the $13 discount. Gonna try it and hope it's only dirty and not damaged. Don't trust the person that returned it. Previous owner wasn't much on cleanliness.

Super Quiet

I'm running four separate lines to 4 different nutrient solution tanks. A couple of the runs are pretty lengthy. This thing is functioning perfectly. I was worried. The box it came in was beat up. The pump survived so I think that means it's durable as well. Not much in directions but don't really need them. I trust Activ Aqua.

Super quiet multiport airpump!

The media could not be loaded. Love this airpump! Super quiet compared to many other brands I have used and has great output going to all my filters.

Holy Tilapia, this puts out HUGE air flow! And much quieter than expected.

I own this one AND the smaller 7.8L/min Hydrofarm pump, as well as others like Tetra. I'm an aquaponics guy and raise my own tilapia. I've tried a few different pumps out there and so far this brand has been the best value based on two main things: #1) Air flow per dollars spent - This pump puts out GREAT air flow through FOUR separate outlets that don't depend on each other. That's a huge benefit that eliminates having to have a "T" fitting AND two adjustment valves, which can not only slow your air flow but it's a pain in the ass to adjust. #2) Noise - I was very impressed with the low noise on this one which is significantly quieter than the smaller Hydrofarm even though the specs say otherwise. Very impressive, especially for a high volume pump. This one is almost as quiet as a Tetra Whisper pump but 300% more air flow given the equivalently priced Whisper. It also has very little vibration. Extra bonuses include the 4 outlets as mentioned, and adjustable air flow which is really cool. I own a bunch of pumps, including several Whispers like the Whisper 20, Whisper 40, and the largerTetra 26075 Whisper Air Pump, 150 which even that produces only 2.6 liters/min air flow while this sucker puts out 15 liters/min, although the Whisper is definitely the quietest pump on the market. Even the Whisper 300 only has 4.6 L/min output at three times the price of this one. BOTTOM LINE: This is now my favorite pump out of about 8 pumps that I own. There are other pumps that put out more air flow but they are much more expensive and very loud. There are also more quiet pumps on the market but you would need 2 or 3 of those to put out the same air volume as this one. For the techies out there, specifications on the box says: Power = 6W ; Pressure = >2.319 PSI ; Air Output = 15L/Min ; Noise = <45 dB ; Weight = 3.5 Lbs ; Size = 187mm X 165mm X 95mm (7.3" X 6.5" X 3.75"). Yeah, its HUGE. Comes with a 4 foot cord.

One 8 outlet pump is good for 4x 5 gallon pails for DWC. Quiet for its output. Dense. Variable output.

SUPER SILENT? what a joke

It is so damn loud we can't use it even during the day! Also has a weird plug which wasn't mentioned, had to figure what the plug was then wait another several days for an extension plug to be delivered!

Powerful pump with mid-level noise. Perfect for DWC Hydroponics.

I'm using these air pumps for my DWC Hyroponic garden. I've tried a few air pumps in the past few months and this one is the best middle ground. In terms of noise, it is mid-level, meaning it has some hum to it if not full power but the noise is a fair exchange for the power provided. I have three of these right now and I feel satisfied with my purchases. I tried the Vivosun 950 GPH - Way too loud, but would make a very powerful pump. I tried the Pawfly adjustable 2 port - VERY quiet, but not powerful enough. I tried a few others, but this is the one. Powerful enough for DWC with minimal noise given the strength of it. Could be quiet on low to mid power.

Powerful and noisy

This pump is huge. It's about 3-4 times the size of a small two-outlet pump. Having said that, it's large because it's very powerful and moves a lot of air. It seems to be good quality and quite sturdy (it's very heavy). The pump is definitely overkill for what I'm using it for (a 5 gal and a 10 gal aquarium with two lines per tank). I have two lines running to sponge filters and two lines running to air stones. I have to keep the pump setting on "low" or it pushes too much air for my small tanks. All my air lines have air-control valves which allows me to minimize, maximize, or stop air flow from a line. To reduce noise, you should always close off unused air lines. Note: this pump does not come with accessories, so you need to buy valves and air tubing separately. The pump overall is very noisy, giving off a deep hum. I have it on a shelf in my livingroom and I can hear the noise at the other end of my hallway. Because the noise is bothersome, I'm in the process of building a wooden box for the pump and will add some thin foam inside to help insulate it. I've cut slots for the power cord and tubing and an air vent on top. If my box reduces the noise enough I will keep the pump, otherwise I will consider returning it. It's a shame it's so noisy, as it's otherwise a very good pump. One Final Note: The product literature and a sticker on the pump warn that this pump must only be used above the water line. I recommend putting it on a shelf or inside an upper cabinet. ***UPDATE*** Even with my custom-made insulated box the pump is far too loud. I will be returning it.

Awesome pump! Wish it had plugs to block unused outputs.

It's a LOT larger than I was expecting!! I use this to run 2 sponge filters and 2 corner filters in my betta tanks. It works very well. I like that you can turn the air pressure up or down with the twist of a dial instead of trying to pinch airlines and throttle the motor in ways it wasn't meant to be throttled:) It does make some noise when set to high but for the pressure it puts out and the size of it, it's pretty quiet. MUCH quieter than my small tetra air pump with only 1 output. It's fairly heavy which reduces the vibrations I think. When set to low, you can hardly hear it at all. I withheld one star because I wish it came with plugs for the outputs you aren't using. I only needed three outputs at one point and had to rig up a piece of airline tubing with a screw stuffed in it to block that 4th output. Kind of an annoying oversight, imo. Other than that I really love this pump. I'm very likely to purchase another in the future.
