Excellent in floor plug which hides plugs below floor level

Most floor plugs have the plugs even with the floor surface, sometimes with a cover and sometimes not. This unit has the plug about 2 inches below the cover so that only the cord comes out of the opening in the cover. There are gaskets which cover the opening when not in use. It's very attractive and all the components were high quality.

Well manufactured easy to install

I like how well it fits and looks. The only thing that prevents me from giving the device 5 stars is that they shipped it with only two screws. Now I have to match the screws which is not easy done. It was nice not to have to go out and find all the pieces to get the job done. Except for the screws!! A note the plug of the power strip that plugged in stuck out of the slot. I also liked the locking top plate that keeps the plugs trapped.

Looks real good when finished.

Lay out the floor cut line as indicated. If the hole in the floor is right the install is a breeze. the other thing, put the ground wire into the electrical box first.

Great quality, easy install.

I was intimidated by this project. I needed to install an outlet under a powered sectional, and didn't want six different running across the floor to various outlets. I have done many DIY projects in my 25 years of home ownership, but had never cut a hole on the floor, from the warm insulated inside to the cold outside (storage basement). I put this off for a while, but finally decided to tackle it. I watched various YouTube videos and gained the confidence. My main advice on this is to measure the placement twice to ensure you are in the right spot, and use the provided template. Once you cut that hole, the rest is a piece of cake.

Well designed product

Overall, very satisfied with product. I was replacing an existing outlet box as I wanted to add a USB charging outlet. I found that I didn’t need to cut out the whole template, just around the “side ears” of the box, so made it a little snugger. While the installation instructions were clear, I thought it could have a little bit more detail, but shouldn’t preclude purchase as it is a quality product.

Easy to install, works as expected

I see a lot of other reviews whining that they're hard to open. Yeah, that's the point of them, you're not supposed to be able to open them without a tool. If you expect to use these to plug and unplug a variety of things often, get something else. These are meant to have something plugged in, and snapped shut. That's why there is the rubber grommet in the lid for the cord to come through. They aren't hard to open if you just stick a flat blade screwdriver in there and pry it up. I like that they stay shut as I put two of these under my sofas since they have power recliners. It's way better than having a dumb cord running across the floor since my sofas are not against walls. You do have to cut a pretty good sized hole in the floor and the template should actually be a little bigger, but upon test fit, you'll figure it out; go a little wider and all is well.

Easy to install and use!

This thing was a breeze to install and looks very nice, even though it's under the sofa. If you could really use an outlet in your living area and have a crawlspace or basement, this is the way to go!

Well-built floor plug

Overall this is a very well built floor plug. I did not find it difficult to install and there is plenty of room inside of the very large metal box for electrical. I did find that the door over the plugs is quite difficult to open but I have removed since the items I am plugging into the floor plug are too tall to shut the door anyway. There is a foam gasket that you put under the edge of the plate to seal if the hole from spilled water etc. The holes in the foam gasket are so small that when installing one of the screws grabbed it and immediately twisted it around the screw. Basically just threw that part out. If the manufacturer wanted to make the product better all they would have to do is increase the diameter of this hole so that there was less chance that the screws would catch. Overall very happy.

Very nice outlet with great safety feature.

I bought 4 of these to install in a 3 season sun-room. The first one was very difficult, the box is very deep so getting the wires in and hooked up was hard, plus they are too deep for the plastic vapour barrier. I learned from the first one so for the second one, I allowed enough wire to hook everything up out side the hole in the floor. I also took the plastic vapour barrier box and made it 2 inches longer using tuck tape and this worked great. Make sure to use the exact size the template gives you as there is no room for error. By the time I got to the forth one, it was easy. These look great and are very functional. the top protects the plugs if not being used and hides the cords for those in use. Really glad I bought them.

Good value, well made, easy to install.

I used this to add an outlet for sewing machines in the middle of a sewing room. I used the included template to mark and cut the carpet, then cut the plywood subfloor with my jigsaw. The box fit on the first try and installation went smoothly. I used PVC conduit to run the new circuit and the included electrical box has a knockout on the bottom so it was easy to terminate the conduit to the box with a threaded fitting and locknut. I didn't use the included 5-15 Decora style receptacle as I wired 12 gauge for a 20 amp circuit and breaker. I bought an equivalent style 5-20 receptacle for a few dollars and everything fit just fine. I really like the lid with the rubber flaps. It helps keep debris from falling into the well even when a plug is in use. This is so much better than having an extension cord across the floor!

Its a Hubbell, need I say more

It’s a HUBBELL what it else, Great product fine details and easy to install (for me), works as it was designed to work; a handyman can easily install it. However being an electrical component I recommend a qualified Electrician
