#1 shell holder works for 45acp

I already had a #1 shell holder for case trimming. I used it for 308's and 30-06 but noticed that Lee uses the same shell holder for the above rifle cases AND 45 acp. I tried the #1 Hornady holder and it works great in the Hornady case trimmer. I think it's kind of a ripoff that they sell the 45 unless it's for other types of 45?

Quality, True 9mm. Shell Holder

Excellent shell holder actually sized for 9mm. Bought this to replace Lee shell holder which is sized for 9mm or .40. This is handy if you occaisionally accidentally get a .40 mixed in with 9mm cases. With the Lee shell holder the .40 will go right into the shell holder resulting in a sudden stop when you try to size. The more exact size also helps with alignment so the reloading process is a little smoother.

This is a good product and works well

This is a good product and works well. I have one small problems. 1. The pilot for 9 mm Lugar is too large and requires taking off a couple thousands. As it is hardened carbide it's difficult to do at home. I tried sending an e-mail to the company but received no response. Since all other pilots worked on my .308 and .45 ACP very well.

Good shell holder

This Hornady shell holder is what you want if you've been using a Lee 9mm shellholder. I like the Lee shell holders better, because they're easier to slide the cases into them since they're beveled, but the Lee 9mm shell holder is just a tad too large for 9mm and won't always keep the case centered, making priming problematic. This Hornady shell holder will keep the case centered, and you don't have to hold the case as you're raising the ram.

Top quality

It's a simple review: a well-machined holder. Just keep it wiped down and clean (scrub with a toothbrush and solvent when needed), and always wipe diwn thoroughly with anti-rust cloth before storing in box or on press. If you follow this advice it'll last so long you'll grow bored of it!
