Love the size - reminds me of my Grandmother’s old sturdy wooden utensils!
I don’t know if anyone else has ever heard of this but as soon as I got the spoons I began conditioning them with olive oil. There were a few asymmetrical edges but nothing that an emery board couldn’t fix quickly. Three/four times a day I have lathered olive oil into the raw wood. This is an excellent way to prep a wooden utensil that has not been coated. Do this over and over again. Take a week if you must. In the end you will have a very sturdy spoon with a much better chance of never cracking.

Very Heavy, Long thick handle, Sturdy, Well made, Excellent Product!
I actually bought this item for my laundry! I have a top-loading washing machine, and when I put things in to soak, I like to have a nice sturdy wooden spoon with a long handle to "stir" the wash as it is soaking. Since most of the loads I will leave to soak are heavy, I need my wooden spoon to be sturdy and well-made, and of course, it must have a long handle. This item works perfectly for my needs, and it's affordable! Shipping was fast as well. Very pleased

I swear by cooking with French Spoons!
This is a lovely spoon and perfect cooking implement! Do not let it soak in water or place it in the dishwasher because it is wood and will ruin the integrity of the spoon. This will cause cracking deeming it useless. It is the perfect handle length and spoon cup size. I can't say enough about how perfect it is to use when stirring on the stovetop.

Never can have to many of these OUTSTANDING spoons!
Never have enough of these GREAT spoons! I am happy to own over a dozen in various lengths and I order a couple every chance I get. They are STRONG and stand up perfectly to heavy gumbos, jambalayas and French stews. My Sister and Niece get one every time I run out of gift ideas for Birthday, Christmas or Mother's Day and they LOVE them.

A Whompin' Good Gallic Spoon
I've had mine for six years. I use it quite a bit, and it's still looking good. There is a 1/2" hairline split in the bowl, but that's a non-issue to me and doesn't affect function at all. Call it a beauty mark. The handle on this spoon is nicely substantial, thicker than any other I have, and a real plus in use. The bowl is pretty shallow, but gets the job (tasting) done. Mine is stamped "France," so I guess it's French. I hope so. You'd have to go military/institutional to find a pot this monster can't find the bottom of. A couple of years ago, I made a gigantic pot of vegetable stew spiced with turmeric. My spoon now has a cheery saffron hue. You might want to do intentionally what I did accidentally if you're looking for a snazzier utensil.

It looks like someone grabbed it away from the craftsperson before they started sanding.
The craftsmanship on this is appalling. I wish I had paid attention to the bad reviews. The end of the handle isn’t rounded at all and the bowl of the spoon has lots of angles, like it didn’t go through all the necessary steps. I’m trying to decide whether to return it or make it a project.

Thick spoon
This spoon works well for its intended use. It was bigger (wider in the spoon part) than I’m used to. Very sturdy. Doubt it will crack given how thick the spoon part is.

Very sturdy
Like the fact that the spoon is long especially when you cook big pot of spaghetti sauce or soup

Sturdy wooden spoon
Nice feel. Very sturdy looking. I wouldn't hesitate to stir a thick batter or even push around a dough with this spoon. It reminds me of the disciplinary device my mother used. ????
