I love hazard 4 products. Other than a couple minor qualms about there over-use of special forces on everything, they make some very solid products. And having used civilian labs stuff for years I know they make good solid stuff that is used by professionals all over the world. I have sleeves by them, camera case, and various other odds and ends. But this product is on its way back. I'm not sure its totally fault, though some of this mis-stitches and wandering seems are definitely their fault. There are two pieces of crucial information about this bag that i didn't pay enough attention too: that its an INSERT sleeve and that its priced well below that of a lot of there other products. I mistakenly believed, from looking at the latching points that it could be used inside or out. It can't really. Its not the same cordura finish as the rest of their products. I don't even think its ripstop. I'm not sure what it is, but I know its not tough. Heres what I did with this bag: got it out of the wrapper. Looked at the bag. Stuffed it in my messenger to see if it would fit. (It would not) pulled it out. Looked at it some more. Somewhere in the process of that I noticed some stitches in the side webbing was coming out. And one of the side rings looked like it might be as well. I'm not sure if this was from my stuffing and pulling it out of my messenger bag and the weak outside material or just some finishing issues that won't effect the actual use. Secondly the price of this item should have clued me in. I paid almost triple for my camera case. For a couple sleeves that I have I think i paid close to the same amount. Their dop bag goes for close to $15 more. So I should have known something had to give. Lastly, and no strike against it, its a big ole bag. Its wide and very tall very structured, with good padding. So don't expect to be able to jam it into any tight fits in other bags. What I guess i was really looking for was a bag that added an extra level of protection to my computer while I was traveling with it in my bags, but also robustly protect it on its own, again like my hazard 4 sleeves. Or in a pinch could be strapped to a bag when appropriate like my camera case by them. This was not that product. And really doesn't seem to live up to the over engineered quality of their other products (however they did price this to reflect that). I thought about giving it 3 stars, but maybe the weak stitching on mine was a one off problem and I know part of the problem was me not realizing exactly what kind of product this is. Overall I highly recommend hazard 4 products and even recommend this one, so long as you understand exactly what you're getting. I for one will be shopping around or waiting on them to release something more in line with their iPad sleeves but with a lil more structure and a top handle. Basically this bag, but tougher and more streamlined.

Perfectly fits a 17" MacBook Pro with excellent cushion
Perfectly fits a 17" MacBook Pro with excellent cushion. This protective sleeve is not designed to carry accessories but rather provide protection to the laptop while being transported within another container. There is a single carry handle on the top as well as two plastic clip rings for attaching a shoulder strap. For the price I believe it would be difficult to find a better product. I typically purchase military-grade protective gear because I figure anything tough enough for combat should survive a calm civilian life! I would recommend this product to anyone that needs quick-access, lightweight protection for a 17" laptop. If you need something waterproof & indestructible, consider a Pelican case. My only concern is that the sleeve closes with velcro. It is very tight & seals extremely well at the moment but I do not know how long to expect the velcro to last. Worst case scenario, I will sew on my own to replace any worn out areas. 5/5 stars for a well-made product.

A current review for a good product.
It's a great value and very padded and durable, wish it would have came with a shoulder strap, but I have my own so no biggie.. also I was hesitant to order this because of the reviews, but I assumed the quality has improves since most of the reviews are for a year or more ago. So don't be nervous and if anything you can always send it back lol..

More Straps, please
I like this carrier for my laptop, but it's a bit small. My 17" Dell doesn't fit completely. It is very well made, padded, tough. I just wish the back side had built on molle straps; I don't plan on sliding this thing into the messenger bag as intended.

I love this case/carrier
I love this case/carrier. Definately made for more streamline/slimmer laptops though. I have two laptops of the same width/length dimentions but only ONE of them fit due to the difference in thickness. Beautiful tactical base though. Buy two! Why not!?

QC Problems. I got a replacement that was worse.
First sleeve I got had a stain on the back side. Very small dime sized oil like stain. I ordered a replacement, fast and easy from Amazon, next day shipping. The replacement had front padding stitching that was as straight as a nike symbol, so not straight at all. The molle webbing on the sides was stretched, with 1.5" of fabric instead of the original 1" on the first sleeve I received. I gave up getting another replacement or return. I kept my original with a stain, and returned the replacement with curvy stitching and loose molle webbing. Hazard 4 has great products, but this seemed outsourced. Still, hoping for a black version with better QC.

Top Quality, Low Price
Very well stitched with lots of padding on the interior. Exterior doesn't get dirty or show dirt easily. Definitely a water resistant product. I trust the interior padding to absorb modest shocks when I drop my bag, with my laptop in it, on the ground from a low height. Very cool that it fits a 17" laptop, which are often neglected by companies looking to sell sleeves for much smaller devices. The velcro that keeps the flap closed is very secure and I do not believe my laptop will ever fall out of the sleeve with it closed.

Great bag! Love it. Fits nice and snug into my Hazard 4 Sidewinder Bag. I'm really happy with this purchase, The velcro is very solid. Side note, was really disappointed with the zippers on the Hazard4 Sidewinder backpack.
