Not as good as the original

Hey, it works, it moves and it sucks up debries, but not at all like the original motor did. My biggest complaint is that this motor is not near as heavy as the original, so, it does not clean as good as it used to. It kind of just floats down the sides of the pool when it comes down because it is not as heavy and it doesn't vacuum as good either. Normally, I never had to vacuum my pool manually, my tiger shark pool cleaner did a wonderful job, now, it works, but not as good. It doesn't suck up all the debries like it used to. Disappointed.

Was a perfect fit - definitely better than buying a whole new SharkVac.

I was just going to buy a new SharkVac since my old one was over 10 years old when it stopped working. I just couldn't pull the trigger on sending another 1K+ out the door. Then I saw this replacement motor. It was an exact fit and the pool is as clean as ever. I did skin my knuckles trying to get the old motor out - but it did come. It lasted all season without issues. We'll see how long it lasts, but at least I got to use the other parts a bit longer before adding them to a landfill.

HAYWARD RCX40000 4 HR DC REPLACING INPUT MOTOR UNIT. ( IN TIGER SHARK 2 )

Hi Its not an easy unit to fit all stain steel screws so magnetic screwdriver will not hold torx screws!! So hold torx tip in medium size Jakobs style chuck and with a little bit of manuliption you can get in at the torx screws to undo but not easy also the power connection cord is difficult to remove from the old unit do not try to pull out of oval housing via the power cord !! use serrated long nosed pliers to pull out the oval small grey plastic power cord housing (Not Easy take care not to damage the power cord where it enters the grey oval plug caseing) A good dose of WD40 will help in the replacement of the oval plug back in to its socket.Lastly and most important make sure the grey plastic compression screw is well tightened down and a Little waterproof grease smeared over the grey screw. This screw needs a special tool to unscrew it (But a heavy duty circlip pliers will do if you are carefull) A FIDDLE JOB BUT CAN BE DONE plus a little strong langusge.

Pricey & not sure how long it's going to last...

This is the second replacement motor we've purchased from Amazon. The previous motor lasted 3 years. The new motor seems a bit slower. My rating is based on price versus how long it's probably going to last. We live in the Pacific Northwest, so our pool is open 5 months of the year, so cleaner usage isn't year round. Installation was easy, but we've done it before....

Caveat emptor!

I was debating whether to buy a brand new device from a competing company, or invest on a motor and replace the one that was not working. Decided to go with this replacement. Invested in other parts that needed for a total of $500. The result? It worked for exactly 16 months and now Hayward is telling me I am out of luck. I was going to buy a new cartridge filter and other expensive items for my pool, but I will stay as far as I can from Hayward. If I want to through my money away, there must be more fun ways to do it than investing in a Hayward part.
