BUY IT
I bought this saddle because my brother convinced me. The price was great so I said why not. This was a great price to get into saddle hunting. I used it all deer season and man this thing is awesome. It’s sturdy, I feel safe and it’s super lightweight. I stand by hawk and their products. Do yourself a favor. Spend the money on this hawk saddle and you’ll perform just as good as those guys spending $500 on a saddle. Get some light weight sticks and bam you’re as mobile as can be. Just do yourself a favor and buy it.

Needs better quality ropes!!!
This is my first go at saddle hunting and for the price this kit will certainly get you in a tree comfortably and safely. First off there is a learning curve to this type of setup. You must be patient and willing to learn. I suggest alot of youtube videos! Take your time and go slow and mythological until you get the hang of it and try multiple hight positions for your tether,it really makes a difference. Once I found what works for my size weight,5'-10" 250lbs, it is very comfortable. The longest sit so far is 5 hours and could have went much longer. My only true complaint is the lineman's rope and tree tether are made of a soft material that scuffs really easy. I will have to replace them after only one season of use. Also a couple of sys haulers would have been a nice compliment to the set. I purchased a set of the "Tactical Molle Drawstring Magazine Dump Pouch" on Amazon for $17 that work really well. All in all a really good setup and the ascender that comes with it works like a charm!

Feels good. Seems decent.
It feels good. The ropes are ehh. Recommend getting diffrent ropes. Mine came with two back rest instead of a pouch?

Using it for bow hunting

Very good for a starter saddle
Honestly I like it a lot, to all of the people saying it’s not comfortable it’s not supposed to be like sitting in your tree stand but this definitely gives you way more spots you can hunt now, so if you’re trying to get into saddle hunting this is the saddle for you

Good saddle, low quality ropes and prusiks.
The saddle seems to be of good quality and is comfortable. For the cost, I expected the lineman's rope, tether rope and prusiks to be of higher quality. The picture shows how the prusiks are made. The ropes are a soft/lose double braid with a lot of core/cover slippage. The cover bunches up behind the prusik. Ropes appear to be nylon. It would be better if they were made from a climbing grade polyester. Polyester has better abrasion resistance and retains more strength when wet.

Dangerous. Perhaps deadly.
This product broke immediately during initial inspection and testing (as instructed in the owners manual) and was returned. However, it is my sincere belief that it should be destroyed, and the product line removed from the market. I am a former union ironworker and rigger. I also have experience with nautical rigging. First, the metal snaps fixing the insulating layer to the hammock. One of these came apart and was easily sharp enough to cut nylon rope or webbing. A failure like this could have bitter, tragic consequences should a small shard of metal like that encounter a rated climbing rope under load - the load being you. Second, the carabiners. This is a climbing harness intended for use in trees. The standard for life support when scurrying up a tree is the triple locking carabiner. The carabiners used by Hawk are screw gate carabiners. Screw gate carabiners are evidently great on rock walls and in climbing gyms, but have no place in tree work as they have demonstrated a readiness to spin out - unscrew themselves, shift orientation to a side load, and can end up letting go of the line they’re supposed to be holding when the gate fails. Third, the hardware managing the webbing. Mine was sharp, cheap, and installed in such a way as to prevent replacement. Ropes don’t like sharp things. Ropes like smooth, rounded things. This was a budget move by Hawk, and screams disrespect and disregard for the lives of their customers. Can these things be corrected? Absolutely! A good sewing shop with UHMWPE thread can easily help you upgrade your hardware. A descent triple locking 25kn carabiner is only about $30, and three is all you need to replace the three that come with this saddle. Remove the metal snaps and try some polycarbonate options. Of course by the time all this is done the price of the saddle is around 150% of the current price - and much better saddles can be found in that higher bracket. Your life is important. You have people who love you, and a world to impact with the contributions you will make moving forward. I know a cheap option looks great, but do not discount your life, or the lives of those around you who love you and put up with your shenanigans. You’re worth spending a little more if it brings you home safe. As Benjamin Franklin once observed “the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten.”

Works as expected but a little heavy
I have used this product about four times in the field now and can safely say that for anyone interested in trying saddle hunting, this is a great entry level product. The material lacks structure and the belt slides a little under the weight of the carabiners and gear bag while climbing. I'm not sure if that's a problem with other saddles as well, but based on pictures from more expensive units it looks like the fit and lighter weight are what you end up paying for. I also found this saddle sort of pinches the hips after 4 or 5 hours in the tree but I was able to find comfort by shifting my weight and using the upper back support strap.

Great Entry Level Saddle
This is a great product, I am a first time saddle hunter and I love it. It does take some time to get comfy and feel confident with it so don’t expect anything amazing the first couple times you use it, and definitely practice using it before heading out in the field.

Not a bad set up just budget the possibility of new ropes
I haven’t had mine for a season yet but I’ve practiced climbing and setting up a few times now I got to say it’s fairly comfortable! The ropes will likely need to be replaced sooner or later but as of now mine are still holding up good overall not a bad saddle set up
