Cute but didn’t last long
This game is a classic and so much fun for my one year old grandson. It arrived with one ear that wouldn’t stay put and after a few months the blower stopped working. The music is loud and can get annoying haha wish there was a volume adjustment. Regardless of the issues I will buy a new replacement because he loves it !

Not as good as it use to be
My kids had this when they were little. I bought it for my grandson. It doesn’t seem to work as well as the old one. It takes a long time for the butterflies to come out.

Works but over in seconds
We were surprised at first that the plastic wasn't clear, it was a translucent white. The plastic does have 2 creases & is thick enough to stand up. Was surprised also that the butterflies don't look like butterflies. It's square material pinched in the middle & sewn in a bow-shape. The material is a little stiff but durable enough that they survived my 1 yr old stepping on them. I didn't have any problem with the elephant falling over like other customers. But we had ours on solid ground. So might be a carpet issue (that others said they used a book to help). When turned on, the plastic tube stood up (with help to get it up initially, then stays up on it's own). It started up with an elephant sound then played cute music the entire time it's on. It shot the butterflies out in 3 iterations, no problems coming out. They seem to fall fast but seem to her slower as they get closer to the ground as if they were finally catching air. Next time I'll try putting it on a coffee table or something to see if it gets more air time. It'd be nicer if they found a way for it to glide down slower. It doesn't have much spread/spray, staying close to the elephant. And then it was done. In about 20 seconds. Game is super short. The kids liked it & it held their attention, but after disconnecting the snout & reloading 10 times in 3 minutes, it's a bit high maintenance for the parent & you soon can't wait for the kids to get their fill. Not a game for 30 minutes. Maybe 5-10 minutes. Luckily it's easy to set up & put away. Though I worry that it doesn't fit in the box with the ears on & that over time repetitive ear removal that the ears will wear & won't stay in. It has 3 nets (I was surprised not 4 but that was my assumption.) Small team individual competition. Overall it's a good game except being so high maintenance that it gets old fast (at least for the parent). Would've given it 5 stars if it had: 1. More butterflies (maybe one day I'll try feathers & see what happens?) (Extra perk if they found a way to make it look actual butterflies) 2. More nets to go with more butterflies so 5-6 kids could play. 3. If the butterflies glided down slower to give the kids more opportunity to catch it. (Lighter material?) 4. A quick reload option to be able to feed it in while the game is still going. (Like if it had a tail that had suction or something or a reload layer that after where you could stuff them in, then when it runs out hit the release button for a quick reload.) Then this would be butterfly catching fantasy awesomeness.

Not as great as the one when I was a kid!
The butterflies don’t come out of the trunk very easily, and if they do it’s like a giant burst of a bunch and then a few stragglers. It is fun just wish it was made like they used to be!

Fun game but is breakable for rough playing kids
My two preschool aged boys already ripped the elephant's trunk in the first few uses. I did tape it together and it generally works (and they love this game), but definitely would recommend supervising them while using. It also has a fan that their hair could get stuck in if they have long hair. Again, requires parent supervision while using. I do love the gross and fine motor development aspect as it promotes hand/eye coordination for catching the butterflies.

Not the same as I remember
Ok so first of all, I realize that even board games get remodeled. This elephant looks different of course, I knew that. His ears are detachable for some reason, and now you can conveniently see inside his trunk. My 2 year old loves the game, and my 6 year old goes way too hard against her and makes her sad. Which brings me to my next point. There are so few butterflies. Especially for the max number of players. I plan to use tissue paper to try to make more, hopefully they'll fly just as well, because it makes the game very short when they fly out well. Which brings me to my NEXT point. I remember my childhood Elefun really shooting these things into the air. This guy barely spurts them out of the trunk. He also barely seems to have the power to get them airborne at times. You have to flatten out the butterflies a bit, and you have to rub the trunk out against it's seams/folds, and even then you may need to fiddle with the trunk as your kids near trample you in anticipation. It's a good game but they really could've made it better.

Definitely not the Elefun of the early 2000s!
My oldest daughter had an Elefun game around 2005. She LOVED it, so when I saw this I thought my 2 and 4 year old would love it. They made some design changes that suck. This one doesn't work nearly as well as the original. It's much smaller. The ears don't go in right which makes air leak through the ears. It's not nearly as powerful. In fact the "butterflies" (paper bow ties) didn't want to blow out of the too long trunk. I did all the recommended things, shaking it around, adjusting the butterflies in the elephant. The trunk is too long and the air flow not powerful enough to push the butterflies out. HELPFUL HINT - I solved this problem by cutting 6-8 inches off the end of the trunk, then placed the elephant on an end table for a higher surface. This worked much better. The butterflies were able to come out of the shortened trunk, and placed higher allowed them to get some air so the kids could catch them. It works ok now after doctoring it, but really disappointed that this is not as good as the original.
