I'm A Little Teapot, Short & Stout
For many, the act of brewing tea is just as important as the drinking of it. The Hario TTH-30-R Glass Teabag Infusing Teapot with red top makes a nice presentation when brewing a cuppa using bagged tea with a string. It isn't necessary to make this kind of tea in a pot, and you can really only brew enough for up to two people (one person ideally). But this is a case where form over function works. While I often use teabags, I prefer the quality of loose leaf tea when doing specialty brewing in a pot. For me, dunking a bag in a mug is enough for that kind of tea, but I could see how this makes a nice presentation for a special event, or if you simply want to enjoy the ritual. The petite Hairo pot looks great and the glass seems sturdy. The tea is easy to see pours out evenly. After seeping, simply pull the bag up into the "hat" and it will drip cleanly into the pot and not over seep, all while retaining the heat. Both parts are easy to clean and while I'd have no fear throwing them in the top shelf of a dishwasher, I'll probably do it by hand. I'm tempted to give the TTH-30-R three stars simply for the fact that I have a hard time seeing why one would go through the trouble of preparing such a small amount of bagged tea. But this an adorable pot, and as I mentioned, if presentation is important or if you enjoy the ritual, then this is a fun and effective product. I don't think I'll personally use it much, but if I have tea-drinking guests over, this would be a neat pot to use. ~ Kort

It’s Cute
This small teapot is cute. I like the glass and the pop of red for the top. It’s not really practical for me. I think it would make a nice gift for a tea lover that enjoys different teapots.

Cute But Small For Me
I really like the clear, glass teapots and have a few of them in various sizes. This one is unique in the fact that it has a "tea hat", a useful feature, for sure, but hardly worth the current cost. It's only a 10 ounce (300 ml) pot, max. capacity. I usually make twice that, minimally, in my large, 20 ounce mug. It's a cute set, but I wouldn't give half of the listed $35 and up price for it. The hat works well to hold the individual brewed bag, if it has a string, up out of the water and allow you to pour out of the pot. There isn't a lot of insulation to keep the water warm in the glass or the hat lid, but it is pretty and nice to see the color of the tea as it brews in the pot. I had some "blooming" teas that I enjoyed this way. This is pretty sturdy glass, as glass goes, but you'll still want to treat it gently. The handle looks fragile, even for the small pot. Three and a half stars. It's a cute set but too small for me and way overpriced for what it is, in my opinion.

Great solution for handling tea bags outside of the kitchen
One of the great pleasures in life is a simple cup of tea. But who wants to sit in the kitchen and wait for it to steep ? Alternatively if you take that cup of tea to go -- off to the living room or bedroom -- what exactly should you do with the tea bag ? You CANNOT leave it in that tea -- yuck -- bitter tea if over steeped. Finally a solution. Pull up the tea bag, it squeeze the bag out into the small pitcher, and then secure the label and string in the cap. Then flip it over. The only issue is that if you DO NOT squeeze the bag well, it will drip out of the same slot and hole that the string slips through. And -- this has no solution for loose tea bags (no string) ... sad. This is a very small carafe you can pour out, but is only a single serving. I have to admit -- I drank out of the carafe once -- it works in a pinch. But overally I like having it. GREAT for tea drinkers at work too!

Crazy Expensive. For use with tea bags. Made in Japan.
This teapot is made in Japan. Currently, at over $36 it is crazy expensive. It’s a unique teapot in that it is made for teabags. You could use it for loose-leaf tea, but you would have to have a separate tea strainer or tea ball. Which is not included. Once your teabag has steeped to the desired amount of time you simply pull the teabag up. There is a rubber slot that holds the teabag in place. It comes in a nice cardboard box which can be easily wrapped if you are giving it as a gift. A nice item for those who use teabags, but currently crazy expensive.

Doesn't do much
This is an odd gizmo. It allows you to hoist your tea bag into the top hat dome to remove from water (as opposed to throwing the bag out like I normally would). I suppose you can use loose leaf tea and use the strainer to keep the leaves in the pot. Either way, I just don't see the point. The ability to lift the bag is all but useless to me. Filtering out leaves presents a mess to clean those out of the pot.

Love the Individual Glass Teapot- The Plastic "Hat," Not So Much
This Hario TTH-30-R Glass Teabag Infusing Teapot is another beautiful glass serving vessel in the Hario line. This glass teapot is an individual size, and holds 1 teabag worth of liquid comfortably (I measured 12 oz of water in my pic, and that went up to about the neck of the pot). The red hat (cover) is made of plastic and is very clever in functionality, as it holds the teabag out of the water and allows it to drip in the pot, keeps the water more insulated, and also will strain loose tea leaves as you pour. Despite this great functional concept, I have to say I think it looks ridiculous and cheap compared to the beautiful glass pot underneath.... hmmm. while the lid does take away from the good looks of this pot, it still works really well combined, and the teapot would not be as useful without a lid. Perhaps Hario should also provide a glass lid.

Cute and helps to brew my tees. Due to opening won’t keep to stay warm but keeps it warm long enough to brew tea bags. This is nice to use with company for 1.
