Pour spout
We bought this kettle because it has an extended pour spout. Our old kettle had no spout and every time you'd pour water on the coffee filter you got slightly scalded. This kettle also heats very fast. Only draw back is it's rather heavy when full.

LOTS OF USE, Holding up PERFECTLY
Other reviews complained of handle damage, rust, hot handles, and other issues. I have NOT experienced ANY of these issues. The kettle is beautiful and shines up nicely. It heats well on gas or electric stoves. I put it on a burner the same size as the pot, and no matter how high it is boiling at, the handle has never been too hot to use by hand. The rubber handle stays cool and is in as good condition as it was the day I got it 6 months ago. I'll check back in when it starts to show wear, but for now, there's not a bit. Love it. It was a great buy, and I'm so glad I have it. ------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- UPDATE! - 1 YEAR AND 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE ---- The handle is still in perfect condition. The rubber still looks and functions as good as day one. Shines nicely and works wonderfully. We used it several times a week, sometimes every day, or several times a day. HEAVY USE, but it's holding up gracefully. The only wear and tear on it is some corrosion at the base in the crack. I think the salt in the air is causing gradual damage. But it is only in the crack between the stainless steel part and the copper part. Doesn't look as good there, but the pot still works in every way I need. If we didn't live on a small island in the middle of the ocean, I'm sure it would be 100% perfect in every way still. The 5 star rating stands!

It boils water
Liked the color and style. Just as pictured. After several uses (I use it multiple times a day), I’ve noticed that the paint from the bottom is now stuck to the stove heating element and removed from the bottom of the kettle. My last one (different brand, same color) was 15 years old and that hadn’t happened. The other brand quit making their kettle and the chef was openly racist. Now I always worry I shouldn’t put it on high and maybe I should replace it. It seems like a bother. I haven’t contacted the company because really that seems difficult and tedious and this seems quick and more punishing all around.

quiet and efficient
Pros: The copper bottom makes this tea kettle *much* quieter than our old stainless steel kettle, which I like. The copper bottom also helps this heat up much faster (and therefore should be more efficient). Very well made, and holds a lot of water. The stainless steel seems thicker than our old kettle. Cons: There is no whistle, so I am worried about forgetting I turned on the burner, and burning it out, like I have so many other kettles. The handle is horizontal, and the spout is high on the kettle body, so pouring the last few cup of water, I feel am almost straining my wrist, turning to much. I often hold it halfway on the back handle support (with my thumb and forefinger only on the handle) to compensate. The handle really should be curved or angled back, like how a watering can works.

Happy after 3 years! Ordering another as a gift.
I just went onto Amazon to order another of this Bonjour Kettle. I was surprised at some bad reviews because we have had ours for 3 years and have been totally happy with it. I initially was looking for a kettle that didn't splatter or drip the hot water down the spout or side of the kettle. We bought and threw out 2 other expensive kettles that had this problem. If this is an annoyance and concern to you, I say get this kettle! It works perfectly; just don't add water above the "fill" line. I have a gas stove and with a medium flame, the water is boiling in 8 minutes; I set a timer. Someone mentioned a small bottom on the kettle. This kettle does NOT have a small bottom. Because of the copper bottom that heats quickly and evenly, you don't need a flame coming up around the kettle! Boy, a plus is when I just went on the site to purchase another for a gift, I found the price is half what I paid. I paid $80 when the list price was $120 3 years ago. The only thing I can say regarding some people stating they have had a rust issue is, we have never had any rust at all. Oh, and yes, the kettle looks beautiful. Again, 3 years and we are still happy with it!

Quality So So...
I had an old Bonjour kettle that lasted me for 10 years. I read the reviews and decided to purchase anyway. The quality has definitely gone down. Stainless steel quality not as great. Read instructions on first time use. Boiled water first time and it left a marking all along the inside in first photo. Will think about returning to manufacturer if it worsens.

Excellent for stovetop coffee-making
I am extremely pleased with this kettle. It actually deserves four and a half stars, for a few minor annoyances, but since that rating isn’t possible, I’m giving it full marks. The minor annoyances are a lid so tight-fitting that I sometimes need to break a sweat to remove it (at least I know that it will never come off accidentally), and some tiny spots of rust that have (after a couple of months) developed around the outer rim of the lid. Potential buyers should also note that the copper bottom tarnishes like nobody’s business, but the tarnish doesn’t affect performance and is easily removed with Brasso, so unless you need your kitchen to look like a Williams-Sonoma catalogue, this is not a fatal flaw. On the plus side, the kettle is handsome and well made, with a heavy bottom that both heats quickly and retains heat well. Best of all (for my purposes), the spout delivers a fine stream of water and NEVER drips: a godsend if you are a devotee of stovetop drip pots and single-pour coffee. The kettle is also perfectly good if all you want to do is to dump boiling water onto a teabag. This is a purchase I am glad to have made.

After 4 months it started leaking from the bottom
I was perfectly happy with this kettle, it didn't have a whistle which was a bit dissapointing but I've learned to listen out for the hiss it makes when its ready. However now where the copper base meets the stainless steel body it is now leaking. It wasn't a cheap kettle so its pretty dissapointing. All Amazon say is its no longer eligable for a refund which seems a bit shoddy. No warranty I guess, I'd assume at least 1-2 years. Not worth it in the long run.

Very nice copper bottom. The handle doesn't move so it's a little hard to fill from a Brita
