Does exactly what we needed it to do.

We installed a wicker "egg" on the back patio and wanted it to swivel. We're not heavy people - both around 160#. This seems to be working great so far. We noticed a little bit of metal shavings coming off when we spun around on it - I literally had them falling on my shoulders. But that was easily corrected with some graphite lubricant.

Strong swivel

This is a very strong swivel but I had a little trouble opening it, keeping it open and attaching it to the spring for my hammock chair. I guess I could have waited on hubby to do it? But it is a good string product!

Good quality rugged design, spring return is very stiff for lots of piece of mind. Wont be coming un-clipped without intent.

Bought this a while ago but only recently purchased new ...

Bought this a while ago but only recently purchased new hanging chair to use. My 200 lb autistic child uses the hanging chair for therapy. After a few months of tension and rubbing, the head of the hook just snapped. I purchased this when my child was only 100 lbs and did not expect her to have massive weight gain resulting from new medications. I would go up a strength level if you are at the 200 range. This says it can hold 250 lbs. I think continued use had to have weakened the metal. Had I purchased a new hook this year, at my daughter's current weight, I would have bought the one for 500 lbs. I hope she'll trust her chair again after the nasty fall. She's icing her elbow and has a sore bottom right now.

Faulty product

Unfortunately the return window closed before I noticed but the clip has spread and is a fauly product. I cannot return or get my money back so kind of disappointed. Not Amazons fault but they should give you a longer refund/ return window as sometimes things do not arise as quickly as one may think. I hope amazon sees this review and can make things right as my closed window day has only been 4 days.

NOT SAFE

After 2 weeks of light use, this broke in half while my husband was sitting in our hammock chair, sending him crashing to the ground. He is well under the weight limit. This is not a safe hook!!!!
