Needs an extra cup!

Product works just fine and looks nice, but the metal cup is a unique size and volume so you cannot use cups from other manufacturers. There needs to be an option to order an extra cup for quick sequential processing and for cleaning.

this one is heavy duty ... which is good ... but the stirrer does not detach ... so the instructions for cleaning is to put some hot soapy water in the milkshake container ... give it a couple of whirls ... then to rinse it, just use plain hot water ..... now looking for the original simpler version .... just because at my age i am easily aggrevated.

Makes a Thick Shake

The low setting on my old shake maker hadn't worked for a while, which was making it difficult to get the level of thickness I desired. That hasn't been an issue with the new Hamilton Beach. The first few shakes I've made on it have been the thickets I've had in a while

Falsely advertised as having a detachable spindle.

As of 2-1-2023, this product is being falsely advertised as having a detachable spindle so you can clean it in a dishwasher. It does not come off making it impossible to clean it with the high temperature water that some dishwashers have. I wish I had known this before I bought it!

Makes old fashion thick shakes

Always wanted a milkshake maker. It arrived today. Contrary to comments read here that caused me pause, the machine makes old fashion thick shakes. Trick is not to follow the recipe in the manual, or several others online. With the cup that comes with the machine use 1/4 cup milk, 4-5 scoops of ice cream, and your favorite flavor sauce. Start with milk and 2-3 scoops of ice cream, and sauce. Add ice cream to get the thickness you want. Some comments indicated that the machine does not mix the sauce from bottom of cup. None I have seen or used will. The sauce is added to the cup last. If using malt mix that into the milk first, adding a little at a time. I don't believe one could achieve the same results with a common blender. Maybe with an immersion blender. It is light compared to those around in the 60's and 70's. Appears to be sturdy enough. The warranty leaves a bit to be desired. It requires the one to pay cost of shipping to company and return to you. Such can exceed the cost of a new machine, making the warranty essentially worthless to consumer.

Expectations

Be very mindful of your own expectations. I find this product to simply be okay. If you are whipping up soft-serve ice cream with some syrup, then this will likely work just fine. Otherwise, with scoops of ice cream, milk, choc, and some m&m’s…this mixer really bogs down and overheats. I did not expect this thing to do any work on the m&m’s since it is not a chopping blade. The disappointment is that it also takes far longer to use for a thick shake. I should’ve simply stuck to my tried and true method of using a hand blender. Unfortunately I really wanted to like this gadget much more than I do.

Short cups

The "professional" in the title had me thinking it was going to be built for "more" than "home use" I will keep this but, I went online and got a used "commercial" machine 7" cups, 3 speed, about the same $'s

Great shake maker!

This product does a good job of making milkshakes. I bought it for my son so he could make milkshakes. The only thing I think I would improve is to have the head tilt back further to make for easier cleaning.

Garbage product..

We bought this machine two maybe three months ago and made milkshakes with this machine, everytime we made them the machine got incredibly hot… keep in mind we are only making two milkshakes not a dozen, it got hot during the first one, we would let it cool down a bit and then make the second. It had barely any power for the motor to have to work that hard to make a milkshake. Finally last night the machine in the middle of milkshake two just quit working all together and now won’t even turn on. So this machine lasted three months and made maybe twenty milkshakes for 170$.. horrible product and would 10/10 not recommend
