Great little BBQ Grill
On a recent trip over Spring break, we took this grill to a rental cottage and it worked wonderfully. The first night we used the grill to cook steak and veggies and they turned out perfectly. I used the medium setting and the temperature stayed even throughout. The next morning, I used the grill (after a good cleaning) as a cook stove with my frying pan to make pancakes and bacon and the stove works great for that too. It boils water fast in my camp kettle too. It's small but it is just like having a one burner stove with the added bonus of having a grill as well so we're going to be using this on future camping trips. It held up well in the wind as well. I just cleaned it with a bit of dish soap and water and a bit of a scrub and everything came clean. It doesn't use a lot of fuel either. I'm very impressed! Only one thing that's not perfect is that you need to be sure you close the lid properly before you pack it. Also the grill rack doesn't stay put and could rattle around a bit. I cut a piece of shelf liner to fit and that keeps it from moving around when transporting. It got a great travel bag too! Love it!

All in all, excellent camp grill
I wasn’t super familiar with table-top, compact propane grills. So, at first, I thought there was a piece missing where the gas line from the regulator, (which attaches to the 16oz green propane tank, not included by the way) attaches to the pipe on the grill which then feeds the burner. The line snaps into place but the pipe itself just kinda sits in there with no direct connection. I literally thought maybe a rubber grommet or some other airtight method of sealing the gas line (between the inlet on the grill and the burner) was missing. And no amount of researching led me to any internet answers, probably because it’s so difficult to describe what I’m trying to say. Long story short, I bought ANOTHER table top grill (I had planned to return this one) only to discover it was designed the same way. Once I figured that out and cooked on this one, I was very pleasantly surprised at what a great little grill this thing is! I cooked 4 big steaks on it, no problem at all. And the heat output and distribution is excellent. The only two complaints I have are as follows: 1) As many other reviewers have said, the latching mechanism is garbage. Do NOT trust the latch will hold the grill closed while you carry it via the little handle. It won’t. But I also purchased the great carrying case with mine, so this isn’t that big of an issue. The carrying case also has side pouches that each hold one 16oz propane tank. Pretty handy for sure. 2) As other reviewers have also pointed out, the edges of the upper and lower clamshells, as well as the removable drip pan and grill grate ARE RAZOR SHARP! Even though I had read the reviews and was well aware of this fact, I still managed to slice not one but TWO fingers while removing the grill grate and drip pan. I literally won’t attempt it again without gloves. The fact that these items are removable is awesome for ease of cleaning. But just BEWARE. And absolutely do not let your kids mess with this thing when it comes to removing the parts and pieces. You and they will regret it when the bloody screams start!

Small and portable
Day trips and camping. It is great for 1 or 2 people when you don't need a bigger grill

Well designed and cute, can't manage without it! Coleman warranty service is the BEST!
Living in a condo with storage space at a premium, we needed something compact but fully functional. After reading the reviews, we decided this grill was exactly what we needed. It has a surprisingly large grilling area, very adequate for cooking for a couple or small family. Assembly was minimal (screw on legs), the propane line connection snapped into place easily, it started on the first click and almost immediately I could feel the heat rolling out. I grilled chicken and never set it past Medium heat, which was very adequate. I loved the fact that unlike the other portable tabletop by Coleman, this has a lid that is domed to be able to cook in true grill-like fashion with the lid closed for faster cooking. The chicken cooked quickly, had nice sear marks on each side and was juicy and delicious. A great trial for this little grill! I appreciate the fact that the bottom drip pan is designed to come out for easy cleaning. The grill and drip pan fit in a kitchen sink for soaking or washing. Because of another review with a dire warning about the extremely sharp edges on the drip pan, I was very concerned and that was the first thing I checked as I inspected the grill. I carefully looked at the edges and even ran my finger all the way around the edge, fully intending to use my rotary grinder to dull them down if they were sharp enough to cause concern. I could find nothing that I felt would be problematic. The drip pan and grill cleaned easily. Also, addressing another issue that was brought up in the reviews, if you leave the grill attached to the propane tank, it will not tip over backwards when you remove the grill and drip pan for cleaning. Others have complained about the latch. Perhaps theirs needs minor adjusting. When I close the grill and latch it, it stays closed. I walked around holding it by the handle and it did not come open. I even sat it on end and rattled it back and forth trying to get it to pop open and the latch stayed closed. I'm impressed with the fact that everything needed for grilling (except the propane tank) fits comfortably inside the grill resulting in a wonderfully compact package with a very small footprint when stood on end. Based on the suggestion in other reviews, I have ordered the carrying case, but only so I will have a convenient way to store and carry 2 tanks with the grill. Otherwise, it's so well designed and handy it really wouldn't be necessary. Bottom line is that I am very impressed. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design of this little beauty. The workmanship is good, what I would expect from Coleman. It functioned perfectly on the first try out of the box. It is lightweight, easy to carry and small enough to easily tuck away in a trunk, corner of a closet or even in a kitchen cabinet. I couldn't be happier with my choice, for our purpose it is as close to perfect as I could hope to find. UPDATE: After almost 2 years, I had a problem arise with the handle. The heat from frequent grilling caused a part on the handle to disintegrate, resulting in the handle coming off. The grill was at the end of the 2 year Warranty period, so I contacted Coleman, explained the problem and asked for a new handle and insulating washer to fix it. To my surprise, after I provided pictures showing the problem area, Coleman replaced it with a BRAND NEW GRILL! I am extremely impressed with their customer service department and their warranty service. This is definitely a company that stands behind their products. I would not hesitate to recommend this grill to anyone!

Perfect for Small Meals
We find this grill perfect for use at our cottage when family and friends are not with us. Great for 1-2 persons. We also purchased the converter to a 20 lb propane tank, thus are economizing and considering less trash for the environment. TIP: Low setting is all that one needs to grill delicious hamburgers, chops, vegetables, corn on the cob, etc.!

Has some design flaws
I bought this at the beginning of the camping season and wanted to try it out for a bit before reviewing. It has potential. It's a good little grill, but there are some design flaws that I hope Coleman will fix. Problem #1 The lock is horrible. I don't trust it...I'm thinking of buying a strap of some sort so it doesn't keep falling open when I carry it. Problem #2 The grease tray (large silver piece under the grill) is a pain to fit on properly. Problem #3 ...and this is a big one...the metal edge surrounding the middle cut out of the grease trap is ridiculously sharp. As I type this, my thumb is wrapped with a paper towel as I try to stop the bleeding after slicing it open for the third time this summer. I also bought the griddle add on so I can cook eggs for breakfast. The problem with the griddle, you'll lose a lot of food down the grease drain holes...they seem overly big to me.

love it
There are some shortcomings to this little bbq, but its portability and ease of use far outweigh it. I find that even on the lowest setting, the grill tends to be pretty hot, so things need to be flipped often or else things will burn. I'm still not 100% sure if I should be even closing it. Its not the easiest to clean, and if you dont at least wipe down the grease tray between use, it can and will catch on fire. It is super portable, sets up in a snap, lights up on the first click, cooks pretty evenly considering it does burn a little on the hot side. Considering the cheap portable bbqs that used to cost no more then 30 to 40 bucks, now cost around $100 or more, this unit is pretty good.

Well it lights
Another (past) great American company turns to stamping out flimsy products in China. To say this thing is flimsy, is a bit of an understatement. And as a lot of reviewers have pointed out, the locking "mechanism" is a joke. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out, don't even consider washing that drip pan by hand until you've filed off the sharp edges. You'll need a round file to get into the curves. You'll also need a bungee cord to keep the thing shut, but I knew all this before I purchased it. I purchased it because it's small and light, and for no other reason. And it is indeed small and light. It's about a fifth the size and weight of my Napolean portable grill. It's also close to being disposable. The hinges are cheap, the fit and finish is poor, and I've no doubt it will burn food if you ever run it with the top closed (a problem with many portable grills, including expensive ones.) If you handle it carefully, it should be functional for a few years, although I wouldn't be surprised if you need to replace the regulator at some point. This part appears to be available on Amazon. I haven't used it yet, but I did hook it up to some propane and it does light. Don't expect this thing to work like a full-sized grill; none of the portable grills I've used regulate the heat properly. They are all a compromise between size and function. I gave this 3 stars because it is what I expected from reading reviews on it. But really Coleman, for another $10 you could have made a quality product, worthy of the Coleman name. Coleman should be embarrassed. Update: I took this thing on a 2 week trip in my camper. I don't know what the engineers at Coleman were thinking, but you can melt lead with this thing. It is way too hot and of course wastes gas getting too hot. At half the BTUs, this thing would be ok.
