Missing hardware
Extremely disappointed that it was missing hardware. Several screws were missing and had to be purchased locally. Also, the clamps used to mount the wood shelf to the legs is ineffective and does not clamp. The screws will not tighten the clamps tight enough. Truly disappointing purchase!

Some reassembly required
I've used a Meco 4100 Swinger II charcoal grill for fourteen years. I like the adjustable grill height and venting. It's been a great, cheap grill, mostly made in USA. I ordered one for my father with the shelves and it came all unassembled and with lousy hardware. Some units are sold with the top and bottom already assembled, and these are riveted like mine was. Using the supplied hardware resulted in a grill that was so loose and sloppy I had to take it apart and rivet it together. Then it worked like my other one. But the parts supplied weren't as the instructions said, and the documentation has errors. Don't get this particular model if you don't have a riveter. Once properly assembled it is a great charcoal grill for a hundred bucks.

Nice but assembly wasn’t easy.
Assembly instructions aren’t the best and incorrect. The bottom shelf was the worst part of it. I had to reverse some screws so the grill would move freely up and down.

Simple is best
We've had Meco grills over the years and we've had fancier grills, now we're back to this simple plain grill. This seller is a little pricey and sent us the wrong grill (the one without the side tables), but I would still give them 4 stars because they quickly offered to take it back or give a really nice discount if we kept it... We kept it and are quite happy. If you love to grill, simple is best.

Not quite what they use to be!
This grill was suppose to be the exact grill they(meco) have been making for 30 yrs according to their sales department. First off it came with little dings and scratchs, second the coating of the bowl isnt nearly what it use to be. This grill was suppose replace my dads grill hes had for about 30yrs, the exact same one, but the quality has definetly slipped since back then. I guess I wouldnt be as disappointed if I hadnt been told that it was as good quality as it was from the beginning, including the coating. Not a bad grill just not what I was told it would be!

swinger grills
I have had Meco Swinger II grills for over 30 years. Some of these grills have lasted for 8-10years. I was very dissapointed with the Quality of the new grills. I have never had to assemble the bowl using nuts and bolts, as all previous grills came with a bowl assembled with rivets. Also, the grill seems to be made with lighter, thinner steel than before. If these new grills last as long and give as good of service as all of my older grills, I will be glad to change my comments. I love Swinger grills!

Excellent grill ...price could be better
This is a no frills Grill. It has adjustable handles to help get the right distance from the coals and the fold down side tables are a nice touch of convenience. This is my second; the first one lasting me 15 years. I truly love this grill. I’d buy it over and over again and again. The last one I had, I made the mistake of putting too much charcoal in and caught it on fire, being too hot. The bottom finally gave out and I’ve been searching for a new one for about 3 years. I finally broke down and paid the price. A little steep, but I really love this grill.

Does not ship to Hawaii .
Difficult to move grilling rack up and down because the heads of the bolts are in the way . Does not have the holes for the rotisserie attachments a new models . Not as sturdy as the older models .
