A very handy device to have around

This is not the fanciest multi-meter but it meets my needs exactly. I love the rugged green sleeve that it come in. This makes the device almost certain to never be damaged. If you are looking for a basic device, of good quality that doesn't cost a lot, this is the item for you.

Works as expected

This replaces an older Greenlee of 20 years that stopped metering in some functions. I used my old one a lot and liked it. This one tests out as an improved version, and I believe will be the last one I ever buy. I use it about 20 times a year.

Great meter

This is the first time I bought any Greenlee products. It is of fantastic construction. I love the rubbery outer protective shell. This is exactly as advertised. I definitely would recommend it to others.

Original was was defective when I got it.

Meter was defective when I got it. Sent it back to the company and they have not yet sent me replacement. I've asked them via email. I did get a response but they said they were back ordered. I also fell through the cracks, but after reaching out to them again, I finally received a replacement after around 7 months. The meter value hunts when not using the probes on anything but when measuring something, it seems to work correctly. The first one I received would give wrong values.

Great for my son's Robotics class

I liked that this was digital, it's much easier to read than an analogue model, (one with a needle.) It was reasonably priced too. My son's been taking Robotics since last year when he was a Sophomore in high school. Now that he's a Junior he needed to get some of his own equipment, like this Multimeter and a few other things.

As a professional electrician I see countless new widgets hanging all over home improvement store aisles that usually end up being better ideas than actual products. The trend these days seems to be bolting on so many "features" the original tool is unrecognizable and now does nineteen things poorly instead of one thing well. It appears wide-eyed home handymen outnumber tradesmen. Marketing Mayhem !!! Greenlee chose the detour around Dumbville and did a lot of things right with this little meter - by doing less. It is small - the display isn't. The display is also bright enough for most outdoor situations. Nicely built with a textured plastic that manages not to look or feel too cheap. Low input impedance (nice). Tones to indicate function changes and confirm button presses (yes, you may choose functions manually as well). An audible continuity function ( lack of one would be a deal breaker, personally ). Non-contact or lone probe aided voltage detector (very nice bonus). It actually is simple to operate - not another device that promises simplicity and then turns out slightly less complex than a space shuttle. Impressively well executed instruction manual. Surprisingly, a pretty good zippered cordura case with a pocket to protect the display, and velcro straps for the test leads (which themselves have a clever rubber block attached to house your probe ends- preventing case damage). Auto power off. Lifetime limited warranty (think replacement leads). Cons/Compromises: Display - lacks a back-light/ could be brighter. No ampere measurement (to be expected). Permanent, irreplaceable, sometimes too short- test leads (though they do provide some strain relief, and don't appear terribly fragile). Initial 6 to 7 second boot up can be mildly aggravating due to the relatively quick (3 minutes) auto off. The instruction manual will not fit inside the case without folding. It is a multi-language manual, so one may remove those portions that are unused. Sum it up already: Difficult to bring to mind the last time I was quite this pleasantly surprised with a 40 dollar gadget. Good job, Greenlee.

Decent meter.

Never shows zero on ohm check. Couldn’t find info on setting zero cal. Made bulb checks on my trailer lights tough. Works well enough for basic troubleshooting. Seems rugged. Fluke meter leads fit. Good feature set for about a third the cost.

Worth it.

Used for hybrid, automotive/diesel vehicles. Seems accurate for my purposes, 12/24v and the odd hybrid maybe 350v. Price for the meter is on point. Was going to buy the fluke automotive meter, couldn’t justify the cost for a couple specialty features related to the trade. Just wanted the 1000v option for hybrid vehicles.

The meter works very well for my purposes (mostly automotive). The reading doesn't hunt around like my crappy mastercraft meter did. I love the backlight. My only complaints are that the thermocouple is very flimsy and I think the meter should come with a case.

Great price. Great tool.

Great meter for the price. The leads are a bit cheap, and they don't have clips to attach to connectors. I did a teardown / inspection of this on YouTube. Would buy it again.
