Excellent product

Bought this product to replace a few other air pumps in our possession. We have used two different battery powered pumps and one powered via the cigarette lighter port in the car. We charged this unit up completely a couple days before going on a weekend camping trip (left on the charger for approximately 14 hours), took the car charger with (though we never needed it). When we got to the site and set up the air mattresses (two kid sized mattresses and one queen mattress) pulled out the pump and used on the queen mattress first. It took less than 5 minutes to completely fill the queen mattress and about 2 minutes to completely fill both kids mattresses. After the first night one of the kids decided not to sleep on their mattress and so used the pump to deflate the mattress, it pull all of the air out so well that the mattress folded up completely flat. Used the pump again when it was time to pack up to deflate the other kids mattress and the queen mattress without issue. Never had to put the pump on the charger, it inflated and deflated all the mattresses quickly and efficiently. With the old pumps (even the one that used the car charger) it took much longer to inflate and deflate the mattresses. I am very pleased with this purchase. The only downside I have found/seen is that the instructions tell you not to put the pump on the car charger while the vehicle is running...which to me means you have to wait 8 hours after getting to your camping site to use the charger, or ensure it is charged before you get there.

I understand that if I had a smaller air mattress it would have worked fine, but I was really hopeful

I really had high expectations for this pump, and it sort of missed the mark. I have an 18 inch tall air mattress and this pump could not pump it up with one full charge. It takes 12 hours for the initial charge, and then to reuse it, it needs to be charged for an additional 8. This isn’t very helpful if you didn’t quite pump up your air mattress and just need another few minutes to be all set. Chances are you won’t have 8 hours to wait to recharge it. I understand that if I had a smaller air mattress it would have worked fine, but I was really hopeful. If I had realized how long the charging times were I probably would have went with a battery operated one. For anyone who uses smaller air mattress, or are just trying to blow up pool floats- this is great! If you are looking to pump up anything big, look for something with a higher capacity or shorter charging time. Next time, I will use my wall charger to get my air mattress at least half pumped up, and then finish it in the tent with this.

Having power is not always good thing

I inflated and deflated my Intex "Mariner 4" raft twice with no sign of pump running out of juice, but this little noise maker has no power to speak of, it only fills the raft with air until tubes form and wrinkles are gone. Tubes were soft to the touch, pressure did not trigger any movement of needle on 0-15 PSI pressure gage. This is a good thing because it will not over inflate the raft and cause damage, I used about 6 - 8 hand pump strokes to inflate each chamber to required 1.14 PSI.

The pump itself works well and holds a charge. However, none of the three nozzles is large enough to fit the filler tube on my AeroBed Eco mattress. I modified a pvc fitting, added electrical tape to reach the size of the filler tube and then glued the largest of the three nozzles to the pvc fitting. Works well. The description of the product should indicate the diameter of the nozzles or indicate they are not large enough for the AeroBed Eco mattress that I have. By the way, Aero no longer makes a replacement pump for the Eco Bed which would of course be the ideal solution.

Absolutely wonderful!

We are fan's of camping. No we aren't trekking into the wilderness and living off of bugs and leaves. Yet this product (despite some of the negative) has surpassed what it states it can do. We have never once had the pump run out of power. Its perfect for our air mattress (double stack queen) for inflation repeatedly and deflating. This last time we lent the pump to a fellow camper with his young son and we blew out the tent (forgot the broom). Still no need for recharging. In fact i could probably go out and use it to blow out the car! Battery life on our pump is excellent! And I would tell anyone who gets a poor pump, give them a chance to make it better. The battery could have been a manufacturer defect unknowingly. (or its operator error - charge only 8 hours before you go)

Excellent small pump

We have been using this pump for our Sea Eagle inflatable kayaks for almost 2 years. It will easily pump up 2-3 kayaks. We just purchased a second pump today solely to make the pumping go faster when pumping up two kayaks. We recharge overnight and have never needed the car charger although that is a nice feature for campers. Not sure of all the complaints about the pump now working while plugged in. All of the rechargeable electric pumps we have owned say that you should not use it while plugged in.

Be sure and unplug charger

charged it overnight with switch in the (0) position and wouldn't work. tried switch in (-) would not work. Tried overnight charging in both positions and would not charge. Checked charger and it was 13.8v. Planning on taking on vacation to Hawaii. Now I have to try and send back before my trip? Don't have time. Very agravating and inconvenient. Update!!!!!! Sorry, once I unplugged it, it worked. have not tried it on floatie yet but seems to work great

Sucker couldn't even blow up a single

I have had this for a little over a year. When I first got it, it was great. I blew up a little chair a few times. All worked great indoors. I charged it up and took it camping this past weekend. It couldn't even handle blowing up a single air mattress. I mean it was hot and I know electronics can bog down, but that is what I bought it for. I regretted not having my old one that used batteries. I liked that this didn't' need batteries and you could charge it, but if it's not going to work for long, I'd recommend staying away. 2 stars because if you only use it indoors, then it seems to work fine.
