Heavy Duty, perfect for boat lift
Our previous boat lift wire was a 7/32 diameter cable from a competitor. That cable snapped in less than 2 years. It also wound up awkwardly and I believe this also lead to the early breaking of the cable. Our boat weighs about 4000 lbs and is on a 5000 lb lift This cable seems much more heavy duty and wound up very nicely in the winch. The hook is also heavy duty and seems very secure. I was a little worried about the length (25 feet) but it is more than enough for a boat lift winch. My previous cable was 50 ft long.

Good quality, but too large for my DL-2500
I purchased this cable because the instructions that came with my DL-2500 pulling winch seemed to recommend 5/16 (maybe that was a maximum). The quality of the cable and hook seemed very good. However, the cable was not flexible enough to wind nicely around the winch drum. After struggling with it for an hour, I ended up getting the strap instead. Maybe this would fit the larger DL-3500 better.

This is a very stiff cable and difficult to wind on to the reel. Watch the video on the Dutton-Lainson site. It will require two people to get this together on your reel.

Genuine D-L quality cable made for my winch
Works great on my D-L winch DLB1205A. Online videos show how to install on your winch. Note that D-L reports that super strength synthetic cables (ex. MasterPull Superline, etc -- or the Chinese knock-offs) will damage their winch drums -- don't use with D-L winches.

Exceptional replacement cable
Actually, you can’t beat the quality. This replacement cable will go on my original winch that had a 50 foot line. I didn’t need that and this larger diameter will be perfect. Shipping was fast and packaged well.
