If you love dice games (and baseball) you'll enjoy this one!

My husband bought this game to play with our 7 yr old son who is a die hard baseball fan (and a good ball player! ) My husband and I are also die hard baseball fans (go Cubbies) and love family game nights. My 5 yr old son is a little too young to grasp the full concept of this game; BUT, he has no attention span and is not baseball obsessed like his brother (otherwise, I think he could totally play too...he just doesn't care to). Each player gets 6 dice (1 set of dice is for batting, the other set is for fielding). All you do is roll the 6 dice and try to strike out the other player (whatever you rolled the most of is the play). Once the other player is out, then its your turn to "bat". Roll the dice to see if you get a home run, single, double, etc. This is a great opportunity to teach (and explain) the positions and rules of baseball to young fans. If you enjoy baseball and/or dice games I think you will enjoy this game! It has been great dad/son bonding for my boys. We also bought it for our 10 yr old nephew who is a big baseball fan/mvp. I would definetly recommend it to any baseball fan!

Well made, small footprint

The board is made of sturdy cardboard not a flimsy rollout map like some games. Dice are large with smooth edges, solid. 7 year old enjoys playing with me. Other reviews loved the "power chip." Here's how to use it. If the pitcher/fielder team rolls 3 dice saying a strike and the batting team rolls 3 dice for a home run, it's a tie. If the pitcher has the chip they use it as a tie-breaker (not that one strike is so great, but it prevents the home run). Once used they hand the chip to the opponent to hold onto. Same thing in reverse: a batter may use it in a tie to prevent a pitcher who rolls 4 triple play dice (which would end the inning with 3 outs in an instant). If the holder of the chip does not use it in a tie then the other side gets to choose if it's a tie. Yes it's a dice game but it teaches basic baseball strategy with that chip!

Dice!!!

I give this game 5 Stars, with the understanding that all you're doing is rolling dice and recording Hits, and Outs. There's zero skill. And Singles, Doubles, and Home-Runs are equally likely so it's not statistically accurate. Both players roll their dice and compare to determine the result, so both players are constantly involved in the action. Most results are Balls and Strikes, so you can't play 9 innings in 10-15 minutes. This would be a great game to introduce a child to sports table top games. There's no charts to constantly check, or complex rules to consult. Or set-up time. Roll dice. Compare. Record and track results. Roll again.... ... until there's 3 Outs. Then you switch dice and begin rolling the next half-inning..... ... ...

Easy to play

My 5yo loves to play but can't always keep score on his own. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to learn to play, because at a first glance it looked like there were a lot of rules.

Great Pick up and Play! Easy to understand!

Sports Dice Baseball is a great game to pick up and play with anyone that's even a casual sports fan. It's super easy to understand and it gets dramatic fast! The power chip adds strategy to a seemingly simple game. It can get a little long in the tooth if you play six innings, but that's easy to fix, just play less! I like this game a lot. For the small package and the ease of play, it gets 4 stars from me!

Fun dice based baseball game

This was a birthday present for my 8 year old nephew. I just returned from his birthday party. He loved this game. He is a big fan of baseball. He wanted to play right away. I played it with him. You do need to understand the rules of baseball to play, at least the basic rules of baseball. But assuming you do, this game is alot of fun. Simple setup. The game is small so easy to take on trips as well.
