Invaluable, but an odd battery size
James Hamilton (aka Stumpy Nubs) included these in one of his "Cool Tools" episodes, so I thought I would give them a try. It's funny, I never would have thought that adding an electric anything to a pair of tweezers would be anything other than one of those insane useless tech things the Millennials seem to like so much. But oh contraire! That little light really is super handy. I never knew I needed another pair of tweezers, and now James has sold me two (I also got the needle point ones he reviewed for pulling splinters, which I would also give a thumbs up). Also on the plus side for these tweezers, even though they take batteries, they do not have an app - what a relief.

Fine pair of tweezers
The tweezers are solid and easy to use. The little light is kind of pointless and seems to be crooked in any event. We ended up removing it.

not what i expected
the tips were not very sharp, and the light is blocked as soon as you need it as the tips get closer. great idea, but needs a new design

6.5 in Tweezer works great for Wargaming
For me, as of Nov 09, 2015, the 'General Tools & Instruments 70408 Bent Tip Lighted Tweezers' proclaimed in this description was received exactly as described. I use it for wargamming same as other reviewers have mentioned. I was a little concerned after reading that some reviewers were receiving a tweezer different than what was described from some vendors, but I am happy to say, mine arrived exactly as described from a vendor named Cyberguys.. The length listed on the box is 6.5 inches / 165mm long which is from top end of tweezer to tip end if you were standing it up on its end for purpose of putting it in a particular length of box. I measured it myself and it is accurate. If you were to measure it from top end to tip as far as total length of tweezer metal arms it would be about 7in as the end of the tip goes out further since it is bent at an angle. i noted that in case you wonder why some are saying it is 7ins long. It has a small light beween the tweezer arms that uses 3 LR41 batteries (included). The light works great, although not sure I would use much for what I do and I do think think the light is sufficiently bright enough for what it is intended for and shines a beam down on the tweezer end. I have bear paws for hands and this tweezer tool works great for me to pick up small wargame counters to move them around. The item is professionally packaged where you have to remove it from a plastic shell with all the item details on front and back. I note this because I have seen some items shipped where just a small id tag is attached to the item and there is no plastic shell surrounding the item and so you get sent an item that you hope was unused that just gets thrown around the shipping box. This item I received was indeed professionally packaged and I am very happy with the purchase.

Nice but not for those really small splinters
This is a good set of tweezers and the light is helpful, but they are a bit on the large size so not great at getting those small deep ones.

General Tools hits another home run!
This tool is awesome. I’m primarily using it on model kits. Bright LED light helps things be a lot easier! I like shopping in the General Tools store. It’s awesome… Thanks for looking!

Larger than usual
Great all purpose well made tweezers. Larger than drug store size. Good for people with larger hands or arthritis. Second pair for me, my first pair came in a set of 4 which I cannot find anymore. I keep this one on my workbench for small parts.

Works well with wargame counters.
I use it for Advanced Squad Leader.

Good for picking up war game counters
Very nice to handle and mine were the size ordered, unlike some people's experience (going back some time now though). I use them for board games, just had to carefully bend them in a bit to make it easier to pick up counter stacks. The light works but is pretty much redundant for my use.

Good enough
Well actually not. The tweezer itself is of good quality. However, functionally it is of no use in daily life. We ordered thinking it is of normal size. But it is not. It is very long.

Shorter version vs Longer version.
Thanks to the earlier reviewer, I spoke to General tools, and they were also able to send me the 170mm version of the product. According to them, Amazon has a mix bag of the 170mm vs the 110 mm, and I guess since they use the same product code, that would explain why so many (like myself), got the shorter version of this product. Anyway, I had bought this about 1 1/2 years back, and just couldn't be bothered and used it... However after speaking to Generaltools about this, they were kind enough to honour it and send me the correct version of the tool. Good on Generaltools to honour this, ever after that long a period.

Not as described, not suitable
Same as other customers, Dec 8 2017 received 70408 tweezers advertised on both amazon.ca and generaltools page as 17cm 6,1/4" and received stubby 11cm tweezers that i can see right off won't open far enough for what I need (counters). Very disappointing. After so many negative reviews, why does Amazon continue stocking this and more importantly does generaltools still make a 17cm bent tweezer? Suggest Amazon contacts manufacturer. Customer service is, as always, accommodating, Express replacement sent, wonder whether it will be the same issue again though.
