A good flexible ruler at a great price.
As is usual with General products, good value, good quality, probably sufficient for most uses. Machinists rulers come in different thicknesses, this is a thin, flexible one which will be less durable, but with careful use should last a lifetime. Thin scales can more easily be bent, crack or chip, it's the nature of the product. Precision straightedges are much thicker and don't fit in pockets very well. These are inexpensive, but of good quality, I keep a few around and, if they get damaged, don't hurt to replace.

No surprises
looks like what I ordered. Tha clip was loose but not nothing a little modifying won't help.

Very handy
I've used these for decades. Very accurate, well made, easy to read and pocketed. Typically using a ballpoint, I put the rule 1/64th short and mark the rule end for an accurate mark.

These are so handy for quick accurate measuring.
These are so handy for quick accurate measuring. Happened to see a special on these, and grabbed an extra one. I often reach for this in the toolbox for a quick size check.

Very useful little straight edge.
The fraction to decimal conversions on the back are super helpful. I use it at work every day.

Perfect small tool for guitar and bass set-up measurements (string heights, etc.)
Very small ruler with clear 32nds and 64ths markings, easily read from the squared-off end. Perfect for checking and adjusting the clearance heights of strings above frets when doing set-up work on electric guitars or electric basses. I am delighted that this GENERAL tool is available. The one I have used for years was inherited from a brother about 17 years ago!

my fifth one
this purchase is my fifth one - it is quite small/slim, easy to read, easy to put away, and i can use it as a bookmark without fearing that the book will get all messed up. I really love it... and so did the other four people who kept "borrowing" it from me.

My main tool for string and pickup height

It is inches only!
Like really, who uses inches. I guess I should have squinted at the pictures more. There is no metric scale on this at all. I guess it is good for drawing straight lines or something, just not that useful for measuring things.

Good machinist scale
I like that the scale gives measurements in 32 nds as well as 64th. And that measurements start at the very tip- not like those stationery-shop-bought-types that have small gap that prevents you from using the ruler head as a starting point. Being made out of steel gives it durability. The markings are clear and easily read. I didn’t find the pocket-clip that useful. In fact, if you slide it along lengthwise it scratches the ruler’s mid-section. Also, the scale’s body is not as flexible as I would’ve liked it to be but overall I’m quite satisfied with this. Good value for money.

good little ruler
With 32nd and 64ths markings and thin ("flex") it's very good for accurate measures. But because its so thin, it's prone to damage. Another 6" ruler I own and recommend "SE 9263SR 6" Machinist Ruler in SAE & Metric with Drill Gauge, Stainless Steel" is made with 1mm thick steel and also has 0.5mm metric readings. I find the slide clip on the GT 300/1 to be useful especially on fine measurements...It will completely slide off.

Love these little rulers
The laser etching is deep, the ruler is accurate enough given the nature and lenght of the tool, and the clip works great as a quick depth gauge. I made sure to have a few of those laying around the shop
