Years of use, wet weather had left my fave 2-person tent smelling like puke inside + the tent floor material feeling tacky. I was dubious that I could salvage it to "acceptable" but I did! Here's what worked: 1) Soak & hand agitate tent in clean bathtub w/ 4 in. warm water + 1 shot glass of (yellow) Simple Green 2) Drain tub / hang tent over tub 10 min. to remove liquid 3) Repeat tub soak / draining of tent w/ 4 in. clean water 4) Now tub soak tent again for 30 min. in 4 in clean water + 2 cap-fulls Odor Eliminator, agitating & turning tent & stuff sacks inside out 5) Drain and place wet tent in front loader washing machine for 15 min SPIN/DRAIN cycle 6) Set up tent outside in shade to completely air dry, hanging tent up slightly so air can circulate under the tent floor. 7) Deconstruct & spread dry tent on floor inside and allow to sit overnight before repacking - the funk odor will reduce even when dry. RESULT: Really impressed - tackiness is completely gone / tent-puke odor is gone / very mild tent funk odor but totally acceptable. Yay.

Gets the Funk out of Keenes.

I’ve worn Keene Newport Sandals in warm weather for 127 years it seems. They are great and protect your toes outdoors. After 3-5 months of spring into summer Keenes develop a legendary funk. Polyurethane foam footbed, wet + sweat you get the idea. You can wash Keenes and they are good for a few days. Then it’s bad again. Tried a lot of cleansers. This product flat works. On treatment and you’re good for the season. I’m impressed It worked well on an old tent that I let someone borrow and it came back wet. I figured that your years later. This product finally saved a really good old tent.

This stuff WORKS

I read an article online about using this to wash backpacking packs, and so I figured I'd give it a try. I have never washed my pack and it has been on four thruhikes totaling in about 3000 miles. When I tell you it stinks -- trust me haha Anyway, I used a capful of this in the tub, let it soak for a few hours, air dried it, and I cannot smell a thing. Nothing. I'm almost bummed that there isn't a little bit of an oder to help deter bears lol But needless to say, I'm beyond impressed and will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know.

Scuba gear needs this

Scent is not too strong, does great job. Aside from scuba gear, I recently had a situation where the closet at the hotel was full of mildew and when I got home, everything smelled that way. I thought I'd have to throw away my down jacket it smelled so bad. I tried using my normal laundry detergent to no avail. I ordered this up and it did the trick! I'll be sure to keep it on-hand from now on.

Saved my favorite tent from stinking!

I have a 15 year old tent that I love, but last season it finally picked up a mildew-y scent. Fearing the worst, I picked this up hoping I could save my tent and voila - good as new! Just followed the instructions and soaked my tent and rainfly separately in the bathtub, then let it air dry outside. I still have half the bottle left for another soak when needed. Absolutely worth the price, great value & highly recommended!

This stuff works

I set up a tub with my stinky bicycle shoes, sneakers, and flip flops. All came out smelling fresh. Amazing I'm reserving 1 star because I'm not sure how long it will last. Will update

AMAZING removing smells

I got this from the other reviews about getting rid of musty smells. I had a tent that a very strong smell. I could from just one round of spraying my tent the musty smell was gone. I did a second round to be safe. I was shocked in how well it did.

Didn't clean my Chacos

This product cleaned my Ofos slides very well; all odor gone. Unfortunately, it did not clear out the Chacos stink despite soaking for 2 hours.

Info on how to remove stinks from ski gear is pretty hard to come by. There is a lot of info on outdoor gear like tents and walking shoes, so I figured, that ski gear is probably going to fall into the same category. After *much* research into how to remove stinks from ski gear, I found two main themes - 1. Put the offending smelly item in the freezer 2. Use MiraZyme It seems that the freezer kills the little stinky little enzymes, and so does the MiraZyme. So, I decided to do both! I placed my ski gloves liners, my ski gloves, ski socks, my Sorel boor liners and my ski boots inners in the freezer (one by one) and forgot about them for a week or so each, then, I used MiraZyme on each of them. I followed the instructions and let them air-dry afterwards. Now, everything is odourless and I have my fingers crossed that the stink doesn't return when we go skiing.

Use it right and wait, and it works...

This stuff works! At first it didn’t work but it was how I was using it. I soaked two backpacks that had picked up mould. Just dunking them and letting them dry didn’t work, so I soaked them for 30 mins and after 2 days the smell had gone. Used as a spray on a section of carpet that again had mould growth, made sure the carpet was well coated and again after 2 days the smell was pretty much gine. Another treatment and it should be gone. Ordered another...

This stuff really works!

I cannot believe how well this product works. I left my boots in my car trunk after a long tromp in the snow so they were wet and they stayed wet for an entire week until I went to use them again. They smelled atrocious! I bought this product in hopes that it would take the edge off the smell, and it completely eliminated the smell. I was skeptical that such a tiny amount of product in a huge vat of water would work, but it's a miracle. NO SMELL whatsoever now. Very impressed and extremely happy with this purchase!
