Highly Recommend
Have two of these, exact same. Used for regular rappel and a lot of high friction speed rappelling. Size 8 rope up to 11. Out of a dozen devices in my bag from multiple companies this is my go to especially for quicker descents. I beat this thing up over the past 3 years and it's still good to go.

If you're descending on a line, this is the tool you need
There are many versions of the figure 8 descender these days, some with ears, and some with very complicated methods of locking off, but this is the classic design I am used to. Figure 8 descenders are great way to rappel, and regardless of whether you're self rappelling or conducting a rescue rappel, this device will work just fine. This is light enough to keep on a carabiner, and it is very sturdy for one person or a two person rappel. Of course, you should know how to use one of these before you start to make your descent. I highly recommend taking a course on rappelling before buying one and descend into a cavern or what not (because the other thing you may need to do is ascend or figure out how to retrieve your rope). I have used this with and without a prussik knot, depending on how fast I want to rappel and what the distance of the descent is (remember rappelling 200 feet down too fast can heat up using the wrong mode to rappel with these types of devices). And the prussik knot helps with lock offs in case you want to hang to do things like locking off better to take a picture or whatever it might be. In summary, this is a very smooth, fairly lightweight figure 8 device I keep in my arsenal for descending or rappelling, and it should last a long time with proper use and maintenance. And the price is right. Hope this helps.

Outdated but functional
Had to take a star off because they probably shouldn't even make these anymore. If cord walks you're stranded and will need to be rescued, so my advice is to buy the rescue 8, what my instructor was using when he rescued me. Fins on Rescue 8 prevent the cord from locking up. Still lightweight, very solid and inexpensive but makes as much sense as buying old rope after 550 paracord was invented.

Perfect!
I use this for fiber cables when I need to get them tight above a door way and Gaff Tape won't do. I also use it for when I am a camera op for games and so if the cable gets pulled, it pulls the Figure 8 and not the SMPTE/fiber attached to the camera. I wouldn't say this is a must have for cam ops, but it sure is nice if you have the space in your bag for 1 or 2 of them.

'Whipping It Out'
Imagine yourself; you've just cimbed a 5.10c, and you're belayer is busy with his camera. Do you push off and hope he has you? Do you act intelligently and call out; "Falling!"? No, you clip your quick-draw to a safety anchor, and follow the saying; "When in doubt, whip it out". The thing you are whipping out however, is your Fusion Titan Figure 8 Descender. You lower your end of the rope 'til it touches the ground; then you slide both halves of your dynamic rope through the big hole, cinching it tight around the small one. You clip your FIgure 8, once again, to the biner attached to your harness and take a deep, satisfied breath...

Good Solid Kit... Terrible Delivery Time
This a fantastic piece of kit. An absolute must! I would give it an absolute 5 stars except when I ordered it for some training I was giving, it arrived 2 weeks after my event. The total time for shiping was over 4 weeks. I was generous in thinking it would arrive in 2, but 4 weeks??? I should have driven to REI and just do it the old fashion way. Still... all being said... this is a solid piece of kit that you can depend on. Be safe out there.

Good and Solid
These rings are very strong and work well for me. I use them as a safe way to tie our horses to the trailer or a wall with the tie rope looped through the rings and the ring snapped to the trailer the horse has some give if it pulls on the rope.
