For the money, nothing better!
I use this product every day in my basement simulator area at least 18 holes per day. It is holding up surprisingly well and I feel no shock in my wrists. The rough is not as "rough" as I would like but to have it at this price is a no-brainer. I use my own tees in the thickest part and have hit over 1000 balls on it since I got this past winter. It doesn't stay put on it's own so I bought a less expensive stance mat and created a cutout where this baby fits snug and I have no issues whatsoever hitting shot after shot. No movement at all. I will be purchasing another soon as I am on my second round of 1000 balls hit on the mat.

A review via comparison...
I'd already owned another golf mat when I ordered this one, made by a little-known company which will remain nameless as to not violate Amazon community policies. That said, I still thought the best way to approach this review would be a comparison of my experiences with this product versus the one I already had, which I'll refer to as “Mat B” throughout. I've included several photos for clarity, which I will describe in detail below: - The first is the two mats face up, side-by-side. Obviously, the Franklin mat is quite a bit larger overall, due to the fact it sports a 3rd hitting surface (although ”Mat B” is longer). Unfortunately for the Franklin mat, this is where its advantages end. The first thing I noticed was a total lack of reinforcement along the edges, while “Mat B” is surrounded by heavy-duty rubber, similar to what you''d find on certain types of “Welcome” mats. Excluding the Franklin's 3rd surface, the other two surfaces appear to be identical in material. - The second is once again the two mats, this time upside-down. The bottom of the Franklin mat is made of extremely soft foam rubber, while “Mat B” is made of the same rugged rubber as its edging. This is due to it being entirely one-piece. Also, although the Franklin mat is advertised as being “extra thick”, as it turns out “Mat B” is about 1/4” thicker. Notice the marks crossing the portion of the Franklin mat near the white label, and there are similar ones on the sides. This is straight out of the box, brand-new. Those were created by the thin plastic bag it's delivered in. If a plastic bag can have this effect, just imagine the damage a mishit shot could cause, especially if you accidentally make contact with the side of the mat using a driver at full-force. You also need to be on the lookout for any small debris on the ground when you place it down, as the Franklin's soft foam rubber bottom doesn't fare well with that sort of thing either. Lastly, forget about using it on anything but grass, for the same reason. - The third is the white tee that comes with this mat, pictured on the right side. Yes, you only get one. Beside it at left are the two black tees which come with “Mat B”. In addition to getting a pair, they are different heights, allowing you to simulate how deeply you may actually stick an actual tee into the ground on the golf course. The last comparison is pricing. The Franklin mat misses that mark by far as well, costing over twice as much as “Mat B”. Given all of this, there's no way this product is worth anywhere near the asking price. Remember, one of the primary uses of these mats will almost certainly be driving balls at full speed into a practice net. They absolutely need to be made of materials that can stand up to that sort of jolt, over long periods of time. Sometimes, you just can't trust a product because of a famous brand name, and this is one of them.

Well made mat, nice options and variation in hitting surfaces
Great versatile hitting mat for avid golfers. Franklin's Sports Tri-Turf Golf Hitting mat offers three distinct types of grass: fine cut where the ball sits up nicely, deep rough with long blades, and a medium type rough where you can push the ball in to bury it. Under each surface is a generous amount of padding to make sure that your club doesn't get damaged while taking a full swing. This mat has really saved my lawn and other grass from continuous practice swings and damage. What I do not like about this mat is that the padding is high enough that it makes it so that the ball is always slightly elevated when swinging. In order to get a flat lie I had to put it on the edge of another mat to help bring my feet up to the correct level. Overall, the quality of the mat is great. It's durable and I expect it to last a long time.

This practice mat give you 3 surfaces to practice on. I play around with it in the den since I am a novice Golfer and need the practice. You can tell a difference in how it feels with each surface and it is easy to use. The only thing I can find to complain about is that I don't like the placement of the hole but it's more of a challenge this way. It's light and easy to transport/store and cleaning is also easy. 4 stars!

Works well
This hitting mat is very versatile. It has a tee to insert into the putting green and then 2 more lengths of grass for realistic practice. Very well made. Seems like it will hold up to multiple hits from a beginner. Non slip rubber backing. Seamless transition from grass heights. I'm giving this to my hard driving Uncle for his BD. He lives in a gated community with a 'hit it' pond that is safe to launch golf balls on. His words, "How the hell am I supposed to smack balls without taking a piece of the community center lawn with me?". And then some other stuff I can't say. I hope you have a driving range or net LOL Please don't just wing it.

Struggle with approach shots?
I've got a couple of complaints. 1) the tee doesn't have optional sizes. 2) the mat doesn't have a great way of staying put on a cement or smooth surface. on the other hand, it's just the right size. I absolutely love hitting off the rough. The turf in the middle section grabs the club head just enough to simulate a pretty accurate loss of momentum for the club head. This thing has improved my approach immensely. I absolutely love having this in my back yard with a net to practice my drive or just to practice chips and lobs. I've had a lot of trouble with 62-64º wedges and have way better control due to being able to spend extra free time at home practicing.

Tri-turf mat
This golf mat is super cool because it has 3 different textures to mimic 3 different grass contours. It provides a realistic feel to the golf swing and doesn’t fly a mile when you hit it. The rubber tee holds the ball for a nice drive. This mat is durable, practical, and fun to use. I would recommend it for golfers who like to practice their swings.

Great training mat
I have played golf for over 30 yrs. Having a mat that represents the multiple textures on a course is a big deal, and this does what you need. The thicker grass grabs the club enough to give you the thicker grass element. Not sure how long it will hold up, but for the price you can justify getting another when it wears out.
