These are very light weight. They are good started paddles. They were in good shape and inexpensive.

Heavy, functional starter paddles

These are cheap and great starter paddles. If you try pickleball and really like it, you'll want to step up from these before long. They'll get you started and have a gritty enough surface to get some real spin on the ball.

These are cheap, but that's expected at this price point.

I had a paddle break after about 10 hours of play, but for the price, it's hard to complain. The balls that were sent were indoor balls, I don't play indoors, so I didn't have much use for them. Sure, you can use them outside, but most people want to play with the correct ball, so they won't want to use them.

Nice Set For Beginners

Our family has been interested in playing pickleball for a while now. With my wife, daughter, and I, I didn't want to spend a lot in case their interest fizzled out. Saw this set, read the reviews, and decided to give it a chance. And while yes, these paddles are slightly heavier than the expensive ones and yes, they are made of wood, they are great for learning. They seem sturdy and held up well after an afternoon of being played with by adults and kids. Maybe down the road I'll look at something more expensive, but for now they're great. Definitely recommended!

Handles are too weak

Update: I originally gave this only 3 stars because one handle broke after only a month of use. I'm upgrading it to 4 stars because I contacted Franklin (the manufacturer) and told them my problem. They immediately shipped me a replacement handle at no charge! So amazing customer service warrants an extra star in my book. Also - I really liked the feel of the handle - it was non-slip despite my sweaty hand holding it, and it just felt very comfortable in my hand. My original review follows below if you want to read it too. I bought this in July, used for the first time on August 4th. As you can see, the handle is just too weak and this broke on me only four weeks after first using it. Big negative. Here's the positives: this very affordable set sold my husband and me on playing pickleball. It's a fun game and we want to continue playing. The grip on the handles is very comfortable and non-slip, even during all the very hot weather we had here for the month of August. So if you want to try out pickleball very cheaply, this set could work for you - just be prepared that if you like the game, you will need to replace the paddles shortly after you start using them regularly. So if you don't know if you'll like the game, and don't want to spend a lot of money on another set of sports equipment that you may never use, these might be perfect for you to give this fun game a try.

The length is good and right price for getting a taste of the sport

It may be a bit too heavy. As of today, the parasitic that covers the paddle head edge cracked and broken. So I removed that piece so it won't affect my game play. I am happy with the length. It seems longer than a friend's who paid more for a different brand.

Absolute hit

Purchased these for my sons to play organized pickle ball in our town. This was a very new sport to me so I had no reference for quality. These rackets are perfect...light weight and easy to handle. They provide quality with each swing and are inexpensive enough to not worry too much about them being broken. The same racket (single racket) was $35 at our local sporting goods store so this is a fabulous deal.!!!
