Overall a Good Starter Set, but Lacking Quality Control
Overall, this is a nice starter set for a casual game of baseball/Wiffle ball. The package comes with everything we need for a good ball game in our yard (3 Wiffle balls, 1 bat, a home plate, pitcher's plate, and a large home run banner with 3 flag/pennants). I was a little disappointed with the way it arrived, though. The box came opened (tape unsealed) and everything was just thrown inside in a big mess. I am not sure if I received a returned item or not, but it sure seemed that way. The home and pitcher plates were folded and had a bunch of black debris all over them. I think it was tiny pieces of foam from the bat, although the bat doesn't seem to leave any debris on our hands when playing. On top of that, three sets of parts were missing for the banner installation. I can say I was pretty impressed with Franklin's customer service, I emailed them and only a few minutes later the representative had set me up for a shipment of the missing hardware. The home run banner is actually really nice and very large. While not essential for playing, it does make for a fun novelty item to set up before a game. The bat is durable, yet lightweight, which makes it especially great for younger children who are just starting to play baseball. The wiffle balls are also helpful for that same reason, since they are safer to use than traditional baseballs. The plates are okay, but are a bit flimsy. Since they arrived disheveled in the box, it was kind of difficult to get them to stay flat, which posed a bit of a tripping hazard. It will take some time to get them totally flattened out. While I originally knew that this set didn't come with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd plate, I still think it would have been nice, especially at the almost $60 price point. All in all, it's still a good set, and we will get plenty of fun playtime with it. I just feel that the quality was lacking a bit.

Good overall , but not much value in time consuming banner ....
In the solid "good" camp. The bat is good and the waffle balls are good too. The heavy vinyl home plate and pitcher plate are nice and very functional. The only downside here is the much hyped banner that marks the "homerun" areas. For a more organized activity this makes sense, otherwise, it is simply a waste of time and energy to put these stakes in the ground and then to unwrap a banner that indicates where the home run area is. I think most folks remember the days when we said that tree or that area is a home run .... the time and energy to set that part up just seems so arduous and not so practical unless you are doing some organized activity. The good news is that all the items in the very flimsy box are well made and they will last .. you just need to decide if the best money spent is just on bats and balls or on all the frills .....

Ball and bat will be just fine by itself
This is a really great idea on paper, however we thought it would be easier and cheaper to get just the wiffle balls and bat rather than this set. There was too much extra things (like the banner with stakes) and the only things we end up using are the balls and bat. The bat is a nice for little hands as it's lightweight and oversized.

Nice and durable
I have two young boys in my family and so everything is about sports, balls and playing outside. This is a great set to learn how to play baseball with, as everything is a little larger than normal and easier for my younger boys to play with. This set is pretty durable and strong plastic, should get several seasons use out of it if we don't destroy it hitting other things besides baseballs. I do like that it came with multiple balls so we aren't constantly retrieving one. I wish it would have included 1st, 2nd and 3rd base though - as we would love to set up a baseball diamond. Isn't that the best part? Running around the bases? We will have to buy the remaining mats for the remaining bases - a bit of a bummer.

The baseball set it really cute. By son really likes playing with it. The bat and balls are a really good quality. The home plate is a little flimsy but not the worst I've seen. I am trying to figure out the home run banner. It is more work that what it's worth I feel. The quality is pretty nice and the poles and flags are ok for plastic. It doesn't really make much sense to me to have it but the boys enjoy playing with it. I don't know if I could justify the price for a plastic bat, three whiffle balls, - home plate and banner. But my kids like playing with it and that's what counts

Really fun introduction to softball and baseball
This set is great for kids with access to a large backyard. It's possible to lay out a baseball diamond. We used sand filled gallon sized baggies wrapped in white plastic grocery bags for visibility. The frustrating experience of trying to hit a ball with a standard bat is alleviated by the wide bat, and it does make a satisfying "crack" sound when it connects with the ball. The grandkids had a really fun afternoon, and want to play again. This set is a keeper!

Nice sturdy set
This is a nice well built set. The bases are flexible rubber that feel like they will hold up well over time. The banner is a nice touch but with all the plastic poles that need to connect together it's a little much to setup daily. The banner is nice for a weekend or special event. I know this is a homerun set but having 1st,2nd and 3rd bases would have made this just that much better.
