*^* An honest comparison of some of the very best brands of athletic socks *^*
These are simply awesome socks. I bought the following 4 kinds of socks all at the same time to test them for myself: 1) adidas Men's Climalite II Low Cut Sock (2-Pair), White/Cobalt/Aluminum 2/Aluminum 2 Marl, Size 6-12 2) Wrightsock Men's Fuel Lo Single Pair Socks, White/Grey, X-Large 3) Fox River Wick Dry Triathlon Quarter 1/4 Crew Sock (White, X-Large) 4) Thorlo Unisex Running Mini-Crew Sock, White / Navy, Large They are all nice socks...every pair is of course of higher quality than those multi-pack "bargain" socks that most everyone buys. But, out of these 4 types, there are certainly differences. Again, I want to emphasize that all of them are comfortable and much, much more durable than any value pack socks. But, the adidas and Wrightsock brands seem to have lost a little of their luster after being worn for 1 year plus. Both brands are now just a tad bit tight, and a little bit hard to get on. (I do feel like though that the adidas socks are holding up better than the Wrightsock socks.) As for the Fox River and Thorlo brands....WOW! Both have held up incredibly well. Both brands really look like they did when I first opened them over a year ago. They are both still basically as comfortable as they were on the day I opened them. I am getting ready to order socks again, and I know I won't go wrong with any of these 4 brands, but I will be going with either the Fox River or the Thorlo socks. All 4 of these socks are considered to be quality athletic socks. But, I personally use them only as "everyday" socks (because I am too lazy to be too athletic these days.) Maybe the different brands would hold up slightly different under very active, athletic conditions. I still personally believe though that the Fox River and Thorlo socks would still stand out as the best. Because fellow sock buyers are forcing me to rank them (ha), I would go with: #1 Fox River, #2 Thorlo, #3 adidas and #4 Wrightsock. But don't forget (as I've said probably 5 times by now), all 4 brands are very nice socks and I believe you will be pleased with any and all of them. [But, if you HAVE to choose just one brand or someone will chop your feet off, my final vote just has to go with the Fox River socks.]

Best PT socks for military.
Its very hard to find an athletic sock that meets all your needs, but these do. For a very long time I have only been able to find generic socks (department store brands) for use in the military. The issue is with most brands having logos on the ankle. Thankfully this sock has none and meets the regulation. I also own a verity high quality name brand athletic/running socks to compare these too and I can say these are the best I've tried. They have convenienced me to use them for both military and civilian use. The socks themselves are very comfortable. This is apparent from from the first time you slip them on your feet. You will not be disappointed with the quality and comfort of this sock for the price per pair. They fit quite snug but do not feel tight. They have ample padding on the soul of the sock which provides a cushioned feeling. There is an extra thick section covering the ball of your foot to help prevent blisters and improve comfort. The top portion of the sock is made of a thinner material. This helps relieve heat buildup. There is also a very thin, semi-permeable, layer on top of your toes to vent heat. The design of these socks allows for excellent comfort on long runs. The additional padding helps prevent hot spots and blisters. Because the socks have a snug fit and are constructed of great materials, I have never experienced any chafing from the seams of the fabric. These socks have proven to be especially great in inclement weather: in the early morning with dew on hot humid days, in rain storms, or cold weather - these socks perform. Other socks when wet can feel rough, but the material of these socks is finely woven and thick enough to prevent any increase sensitivity. They also dry very quick and keep your feet warm in colder temperatures due to the thicker material around the toes. The only critique I have with this product is when worn with low-profile, zero incline, or minimalist running shoes one looses the glove like feeling those shoes can provide. I wear mine with minimalist running shoes and although they are very very comfortable with them - if I'm not going to be running longer distances or out in bad weather I prefer a thin synthetic hot weather pair of socks.

BEST IN CLASS!
BEST IN CLASS. I just tried, Wigwam, Carhardtt and Foxriver straight up. I wear them with Nike Air Monarchs. I run a pool service company to where we are working in the heat of the North Carolina summer and running all day long mostly without breaks. I figure we each walk about a couple miles a day, jumping in and out of trucks and shuffling through lawn, gravel, gardens, concrete and stones. Sort of like rugged cross-country running in slower motion I suppose. The FoxRivers felt the most supportive, were less prone to sweating, and were most forgiving in terms of fit/size. Above it all, they are the most comfortable. AND not to mention...they are the least expensive of the lot! All these socks claim to do everything better than the next and all are similarly designed, and supposed to be very ruggedly designed for sports. I do not have experience with longevity as yet with these, but if I'm a good judge of socks over the past 40 years, I'd have to say that they are likely to last a year through many laundering [s] [at least]. I'm not sure about color selection for the FoxRiver. I wasn't able to find them in colors through Amazon. But that would be the only drawback i might consider. I'd very much like to see them produced in Black, Khaki, Military Green, and maybe an Amber or Grey. Thus far my impression is that they come in White only. I will redouble my efforts to find out whether they come in colors, now that I have found the best sport sock for me. Regardless..IN WHITE, THEY RATE 5 STARS.

Blister-free socks that don't stay white.
The medium will fit Women's 7 - 9.5 (US) and Men's 6 - 8.5 (US). These socks are amazing if your goal is to prevent blisters. I've gone hiking and played hours upon hours of ultimate in different conditions and I've never gotten a single blister while wearing these. If, however, you want a pair of socks that will stay white, these are not it. They acquire a greyish shade of "dirty sock" that will not wash off. But I honestly don't care when I know I won't have to deal with painful water blisters. Here is a picture of Fox River socks I've had for over a year compared to a brand-new pair. They've held up really well, given I rotate through two pairs. They continue to provide a comfortably snug fit. Only recently did I decide to get a third as an extra. And don't pay more than around $10 for a pair. Amazon prices fluctuate, and these are always available for the same price at MEC.

No pinky toes padding
This sock has no padding around the pinky toe. This is a key rub point for me. For this price you are better off looking at something from Thorlo, which in my experience has more effectively placed cushioning.

Loves this socks, they last forever
They last forever, I use them at the gym and for riding all the time. I only throw them away when I can no longer get them clean enough, they never wear out. Great investment. White of course shows the stains and dirt well.

grat socks
The socks are great in preventing foot blisters on tender feet. Wicks away moisture very well and is comfortable. Reasonable price.
