Great light for plants - nice colors
For a regular 20 gallon, the 30 inch long light is perfect, plenty bright. I'm rating the light based on my previous one that died after 5 years of service, growth was good for plants and the 24/7 feature, albeit kinda confusing to set up at first, gives a great lighting and mood light for the aquarium. One of the plusses is that you don't startle fish when turning the lights on since it's a very slow cycle

Pretty good
As I suspected these are not so bright to outshine the 4 foot T-8 tubes I had on my tank. So I bought two and even then it’s a close call and probably not as bright still. A single remote does work with both lights and I was able to program them at the same time so that’s nice. The remote is pretty simple with included instructions. I do like the broad spectrum over FL tubes and I like how sleek they are over FL fixture. The cycles are nice as well in that my fish don’t have to be blasted full light every morning like they have been over the years. Now they can ease into it. That’s nice. If you’ve got a deep tank like my 120 gallon one isn’t going to penetrate. You’ll need two, and perhaps a 3rd if you have high light requirements. I like them, and good bang for the buck.

One of the nicest low cost lights I’ve bought
The media could not be loaded. I really love this light. It is very bright, and makes the tank look crisp. It has a very smooth transition for the 24/7 mode as I show in the Reveiw video. Ontop of that the design is extremely sleek and eye appealing. Much nicer than the other lights offered on Amazon with the low sitting brackets. The light is thin and brackets are clear which makes it look very nice on a rimless tank. It seems to be bright enough for the plants but we will see how that goes. All in all would buy again.

Very Nice
The white is bright!! Exactly what I had hoped for. Many different light settings that allow you to do almost anything. Very happy with purchase.

Nice affordable entry-level light
I've had this for a year and a half now, so far so good. Bought this when setting up a tank for the first time in over ten years. Fish tank and lighting tech has come a long way since I last tried to have a planted tank. I didn't want to spend too much not knowing if my new tank would be successful. At first I probably had it on too bright and the programming can be a little intimidating, but I learned more about the spectrum and growing plants while trying to set up this light. I now use an external timer, mostly because of power outages in my area causing the schedule to be off. I have not been gentle on this light, it has taken a few falls, at least once into the tank (I promptly pulled the cord and let it dry a few days before turning it back on) and several times off the tank. If I have a complaint about this light it's the fiddly supports. I might try to hang it from the cieling. Most of the plants I've grown are pretty basic, anubias, cryptocoryne, dwarf sagittaria, ludwigia but I have a tiger lotus plant too. The spread of this light is not that wide, I see some people have doubled them up, but I think the narrower light works well for my fish so they can hide in the back when they want. Also, when I have the light towards the front my sponge filters in the back are less noticeable. I looked up my order to see when I bought this because I saw a fancy expensive light and was thinking of kicking it up a notch, and I was surprised by some of the reviews so I thought I'd share my experience.

A great way to brighten up your life
This is my fourth Finnex plant light I have purchased over the years due to their incredible ability to supply plants with the light required to help them grow. The build quality is great and they offer a low profile to the tank. The many light configurations offered via the remote aid in accenting colors in plants and especially the fish. The price is affordable and there is support available if you encounter problems. I fully recommend this product to new and advanced aquarium people.

Nice upgrade to an Aqueon 16 Gal. Bow Front Tank
I am older now, I can no longer carry heavy buckets and labor endlessly so I have reduced my hobby to just one tank and it is a 16 gallon bow front. I like bow front tanks but you need a good light, a good background and substrate to allow the fish to really Pop. My tank had a fluorescent light which was not horrible but it was not great. Let say it was bland. I do not like bland and I did want more brightness too. So I purchased the Finnex 20 inch HLC Planted + CC not knowing what the result would be. So in all frankness there is two reasons I settled on this light. It was the only Finnex that measured a front to back of 3 inches and had all the right colors in mass. Using a canister filter and not including the bow angle I have exactly 6.1 inches so if I needed two lights they had to be narrow. Why because I plan to have a lot plants in a small tank. So I ordered one only first and to try it out I simply removed the black plastic housing for the original light which sits over a nice clear glass to protect it from moisture and set the Finnex down without it's brackets which lift it up a little. A surprising amount of light reached the tank through that factory slot and the light looked like a natural, fit and finish wise. So if you use fake plants and want to show off your fish colors this single light a perfect solution for your 16 gallon 18" tall tank. Your substrate will come to life with color. So mine is good for now but ultimately in the next month or so I will chop up the black plastic tank cover, replace with glass and add a second light for my plants. I also use peat to reduce pH and almond leaves which add tannins to water. This makes the aquarium darker so you need that extra brightness for the water gets a littler darker than ususal. These two will work well, this is a Good light!

Very bright LED's but sadly not a very good product.
I purchased one of these at the beginning of December and this is a very poor quality product, in my opinion, I'm afraid to say. For the £75 I paid at the time they could have done a much better job from a design perspective. First of all, setting up the device so that it automatically changes the light intensity at different times of the day is a challenge. There is a built-in default mode that did work but if for any reason you turn off the device by the plug you appear to have to set up the whole thing again and the procedure isn't obvious so do not lose the manual! The timer is based on 3hour slots -12 am, 3 am, 6 am, etc. If it is 4:30 pm you have to choose either 3 pm or 6 pm and go with that. If you're happy to have this chosen light intensity all day long then that's fine and is a one-button press otherwise you have to go back into setup again to set the closest time. Also, I live in the UK and this came with a non-UK adapter so make sure you have a UK conversion adapter to hand. To top all this off after a while I noticed that condensation was getting inside the device which then started to grow mould behind the plastic glass. The device is sealed in such a way that water can get in but you can't, so cleaning or drying it out isn't really possible. In the end, the water eventually caused something to go pop in the device which smoked and it was dead. To be fair on Amazon when I contacted them they offered me a refund on the spot so very happy with Amazon customer service as usual on the very rare occasions that I have an issue. On a positive note, the LED's themselves are very bright and the different intensities they use are very good, my goldfish loved it but it is just a shame that it is a nightmare to control easily and isn't watertight. In conclusion for the price, I would see if there is something better and cheaper out there. Personally, I'm going for either a single LED light intensity and use a smart plug to turn it off at configurable times via the phone or buy some waterproof LED strip lighting and use a shelly RGBw2 device to control it (again via the phone) for about £20-£30 all in. I have used these number of times elsewhere in my house and they are great.

Great light, Just buy one.
This light is fantastic I live in the UK and have a tank with the fluval planted 3 on and its a good light but wanted something different for my 70 litre shrimp tank, I always heard good things about finnex from people across the pond so I took a chance and purchased the planted 24/7. Well I'm glad I did Only downside is the brackets could be better quality but still ok and the light is fantastic and growing my plants well without co2. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to purchase another one.

Died after 6 months
My Finnex aquarium light died after 6 months of use only, cost £60ish pounds so I would have expected longer out of it.

Finnex Planted+ 24/7 HLC Aquarium LED Light, Automated Full Spectrum Fish Tank Light, 24 Inch
It's a fabulous light for an aquarium. What is very good about this light is that its brilliant leg design is such that it can used for both rimless and braced tanks. Most of the new led lights are for rimless tanks. It is so easy to put the legs onto the fish tank. It's relatively stable too. The other plus is the 24 hour light scenes. Just leave on alone and it should imitate mother nature's lighting timings. The light is sufficient for a planted tank but if you want faster plant growth, especially for your red plants, you need to look at another brand. It is a very good light for those who are not willing to spend too much on lighting for your aquarium. I recommend it highly.
