I've used finishline products for years and in general have nothing negative but I could not get the luber to work any better than me dripping from the container on the chain. I couldn't see the chain lube penetrating the chain unless it dripped off the applicator. Good try but it didn't work for me.

Easy to use.

I purchased this knowing that it is an empty bottle and that I would need to fill it with the lubricant myself. I also purchased Finish Line's 1-Step Cleaner & Lubricant. I followed the instructions and filled the bottle with about 9ml go live, as per the marks on the bottle. This was way more than what is needed. I would suggest only 3ml for each application. I basically applied it twice...a light coat on the too of the chain, then kept rotating the cranks to let any excess fluid get where it needed to go...then I did another coat on the chain that contacts the cranks, cassette cogs, and pulley wheels...again turning the cranks a few turns after finishing the coating. Doing it this way was much easier than trying to drop a single drip from the Finish Line bottle. The package comes with the empty bottle and cap with applicator attached. A second cap for travel and two extra sponge applicators. Definitely recommend.

Nice Idea

Great little invention for chain lube application. Applies the right amount just where you need it. Clean your chain thoroughly before applying.. Dont squeeze the bottle too hard while applying or it'll discharge too much lube and make a mess. You'll see the lube wetting the chain as you go. Not hard to figure out how much to apply. Let it dry and wipe off excess. The rollers need the lube the most. Wiping off the exterior of the chain helps grit from sticking to the chain. The rollers will still have the lube they need. A bottle lasts me about a season of riding, depending on how the roads are. Ymmv.

Not the next Iphone, but a nice idea

Not exactly needed, but it makes the chain lube process much less messy. I keep one for dry and one for wet lubes depending on the season. As others have stated, the pads can be replaced by standard green cleaning scrubbers cut to size. No regrets; a good product that works well with any brand or type of lubricant.

Easy to use - Avoids lubricant waste

It is an interesting product if you do not want to throw lubricant away. After the first use, my chain was not properly lubricated as it was noisy and I had to re-apply more lubricant. I found out that applying lube in the exterior and then in the interior of the chain may be the proper way to use this dispenser. You will not miss a single drop of lubricant, at least with a new pad. It comes with two additional pads as spares. You can use it with any brand of lube, although I feel that the Finish Line Dry Teflon is a very good one.

This is a truly great little invention

This is a truly great little invention! I read about it on Red Kite Prayer (a cycling blog) over a year or more ago, and immediately bought one (as it was the solution to a problem I've had for a long time) and LOVED IT! So I bought another and now keep one with each bike kit (I use them on my mt bikes only as I hot-wax my road bike chains). Saves TONS of time over putting a drop over each link, and saves lots of fluid over just squirting out fluid as you spin the chain. Simple to use, works GREAT! You spin the chain around a few times as you lightly squeeze the bottle, and then you wipe the chain thoroughly (you only need to fluid inside the pins, not the outside of the chain). Keeps my chains pretty clean and nicely lubed (I now lube after each ride) and they last longer that way!

Super convenient item

I already owned one of these chain oiling devices and it works great. I bought more to give them as gifts. The pads do get dirty quickly, especially when I ride off-road. But the dirty pad still knocks off a lot of gunk and the chain is shiney with oil after using this device. I wouldn't carry it on my bike because it would be too easy for it to open and leak. But before/after riding it's great.

Very useful device

I have a couple of these and they are very useful. Drip free - you fill the bottle with your required chain lube (I use Finish Line dry lube) and then the tilting head and sponge pad allows you to apply just the right amount to the chain. I have one in the workshop and keep one with me in my cycling bag.

Caro para lo que es

La verdad yo no me tomé el tiempo de leer a detalle las características del producto; mi error. Es una botellita de plástico con una esponjitas que ayuda a no "desperdiciar" lubricante... pero vamos que no es nada necesaria y menos a ese precio, mucho menos porque ni siquiera trae lubricante (sí lo sé, fue mi error por no leer bien y comprar a la rápida). Por lo pronto es la botellita de plástico más cara que he comprado.

Ottimo set

Questo lubrificante per periodi e/o terreni asciutti trova in questo set la migliore espressione; questo perché è assai poco viscoso e molto, molto, molto liquido. Grazie all'applicatore è possibile lubrificare la catena senza inutilmente disperdere gocce di prodotto su pavimenti o scarpe. In ragione della dimensione della confezione il set ha un ottimo rapporto prezzo/qualità.

Primera aplicación, bien... Después....

La primera aplicación del aceite en la cadena fue perfecta, no se derramó nada. La siguiente, un horror, se conoce que la propia almohadilla ya ha cedido con lo que derrama todo el aceite por todos lados. Vienen almohadillas de repuesto, pero no son suficientes visto lo visto.
