Solid curling iron. Clamp is pretty darn tight.
I really like this curling iron: it’s made pretty well, swivel cord works like it’s supposed to, heat is even, barrel is a little longer than some which is fine. Only problem is that I deal with crimped/bent pieces which is really annoying. I think it’s because the clamp is tight and heavy. So, if you only put an inch of hair at a time and keep the barrel very perpendicular to the strand (not angled), then it’ll be ok. That being the case, this is not a pull-through curling iron because it clamps the hair too tightly for that. However, if I follow the steps I just mentioned, it actually helps my fine hair to get a tighter curl than other irons I’ve used in the past.

Great! But Stopped Heating after 3 Months
No matter what I have tried, I seem to be completely inept at curling my hair. I’ve tried a flat iron, the automatic, spinning irons, and the irons without a clip. I decided to go old-school and try a curling iron that had a clip like I used to use in the 80s. I’m glad I did because I was finally able to get a nice loose, wavy curl in my below the shoulder length hair. I have only two complaints: 1) There is no auto shut off; & 2) it broke, stopped heating up, after three months. So some quality and safety issues, but in terms of ease of use, love this iron!

This is NOT dual voltage!
I bought this for European travel because the listing says “dual voltage for worldwide use”. As you can see, the voltage is 120v.

Great Iron!
I curl my hair- a lot. I can use this iron to create beach waves or retro curls. It gears up quickly and is easy to control. Great curling iron!

Turns out you do get what you pay for
So I bought this upgrading from a drugstore curling iron. Turns out all curling irons are not created equal. This biggest difference between this one and the drugstore curling iron is that my hair slides through this beautifully. I am somewhat inept at using a curling iron and no matter what my hair does not get caught or pinched AT ALL in the hinge or the clamp. It's actually amazing how I don't have to be careful at all and my hair slides out of the clamp every time. The temperature control is the only thing I don't like. It's a dial you twist at the base of the clamp and there are about 6 temperature settings ranging from 210F to 400F. The middle of the range is goes from 250, 330, 380. I don't feel like 330 is hot enough for my medium hair and 380 is a bit too hot. I wish there was a middle range between those options. The iron overall feels very gentle and doesn't get as hot as the drugstore one does (the 330 on this one feels lower than 330 on my drugstore iron). So if you want high hot heat for your hair, this might not work. I just did my first curls with it so we'll see how my hair holds after being curled with lower heat. If you have fine or delicate hair, this will work great as there are more options at the lower temperature settings. The 1 1/4 inch iron created very loose waves in my collarbone length hair. If I were to choose again, I would probably go with the 1 inch for loose curls at my length.

Great brand
This brand was recommended by my hairstylist, and I have one with a smaller barrel. I returned this one only because I decided to get the big chop shortly after I received it.

This item was in a different box than the last one I just purchased
I have purchased this item in the past, this curling iron did not seem original out of the box. The box itself was in different packaging. It did not heat up and my hair just slid off. I have purchased these in the past and they were fine. I do not believe this to be original. Unfortunately, it was returned ,

Finish scratching off!!
I almost returned this iron since it doesn’t hold hair well or auto shut off. But I like how it curls my hair so I kept it. Now 6 weeks later the finish is wearing off. I never had this with my conair which is about 1/3 of the price! WTH Babyliss

Love BaByliss hair styling products!
This is a great curling iron! I purchased it to replace another BaByliss curling iron that I had used so much that I broke the spring (after more than 5 years of use). I wouldn't purchase any other brand! The curling iron arrived promptly (ahead of schedule) and the price was better than purchasing locally. Highly recommend!

It's not a real BaByliss
It's not a real babyliss. My hair is hard to keep in curls. But, I tried my friends real one and I didn't even have to use hair spray and the curls lasted for two day. This one barely makes my hair stay curled for an hour with hairspray. Not worth it if your hair is difficult to curl

Good value!
Great iron for the price. I've never used a clip before so it takes some getting used to - but the iron is really good value.
