Good for the price

I really do not care for this hair straightener but still rating it a 4 star. I am use to using a “Babyliss” straightener, which is amazing. I ordered this one in a pinch. For $20, it’s not bad and will get the job done. I do like that it has a locking feature. What I do not like, is that it pulls my hair. It doesn’t glide over & feels like I have to keep going over the same pieces. I have normal, slightly wavy hair, so it shouldn’t be time consuming. It’s great for the price point but doesn’t compare to the higher end brands.

Love it!

You may be like me...a broke student who desperately needs a new straightener but does not have $170 to buy one from Sephora. If you are, take a chance on this product! I was nervous after first purchasing it, but I thought "for $20, what the heck lets do it!" I'm so glad that I purchased this item. There are a lot of different heat settings options, so you can choose what temperature works best for your hair. While some straighteners make my hair a little frizzy from the heat, this straightener really smoothed my hair after using it. The lock is so helpful for storage too. Definitely recommend trying this!

Heat’s up quickly

I bought this to replace my flat iron that stopped working after many years. I like that it heats up quickly and does a nice job smoothing out my hair. The price was certainly right too. I have fine hair so it works well for me. What I don’t like is that while it’s heating up, it has to lay on it’s side on my counter because the bottom is rounded rather than flat. It does not have a locking feature and I don’t know how it will travel since I haven’t taken it on any trips yet. All in all, for the money it’s a good value and I can live with it.

Funciona perfecto, calienta rapido y no me quemo la mano al plancharme el cabello. Lo unico que me llama la atencion es que no puedo controlar la temperatura con los botones que trae. De todos modos en 300 me deja el pelo super lacio y no lo siento maltratado

uncomfortable buttons

Impressed!

First use was very impressive. Heats up stupid fast! Love that there are 5 temperature settings to choose from. My hair is light blonde, regularly highlighted, thicker and coarser so I started at 338 F but moved up to 374 F and the hotter it got the faster it straightened with less passes. I used 1 or 2 passes each time and it was perfection. I haven’t even used it at the highest temperature of 410 F yet so I can only imagine how much faster it will be then, will probably only need one pass. Made my hair very soft. There is no pulling. It’s also very easy to use for making beach waves. I was impressed. I used to hate using a flat iron for waves but with this one its a breeze. Good weight but not bulky or heavy. When you turn it off it doesn’t take long to cool down. And lastly, I love the white and rose gold colouring! Again, this was my first use experience so will see how it handles for the next 30 days but so far I am very happy with it and for the price it not only looks amazing, it does the job very very well. :)

Great if you need a temporary straightener

My stylist ordered me a special high quality straightener, but the order will be delayed about a 1-1.5 months. So she told me to buy a cheaper one if I needed one temporarily. This was the cheap one I ordered. The reviews seemed decent. It’s a really low quality product. In the past, I’ve had good conair products, but this is definitely not one of them. I attached two pictures to this review. One picture shows plastic shavings that were originally sticking out from behind the ceramic plates. The other picture is of plastic that wasn’t properly shaved off the straightener when it was manufactured. It heats up quickly, there is definitely a gross smell, but that’s probably from plastic shavings that I was unable to pull out. I would not recommend this as a permanent product. This one is only going to be used for a month before I toss it (or donate it if someone will take it)

I made a mistake buying this piece of c.. please don't do the same. It worked for exactly 2 days!! TWO DAYS! After that you couldn't turn it in, it just stopped working. Never buying Conair again!!

Ordered off buzz feed review -BAD PRODUCT

The flat iron came in and looks just as advertised, not cheap. Well made. But I don't know if it's the plates or the fact that the heat is inconsistent or what but this is the worst flat iron I have ever had to use. I am no stylist, I do have thick thick curly hair. It's naturally black and textured. This flat iron made my hair look great at first (sometimes) then it would get really rough and even feel damaged to the touch maybe an hour (at the most) later. I though I did something outside of this to damage my hair, so I bought olaplex galore and still hair would look great for like an hour at the very most and then hen turn to garbage. So finally I stopped by my local Winners/ Marshals and bought some discounted random brand flat iron. And wow my hair looks great. Olaplex has made my hair so healthy and the flat iron maintains temp and makes my hair look great. I honestly have no idea what is causing it to do this to my hair. But it is not worth it. The reviews are probably from fair textureless hair or the one I got was just realllly this broken. But I think it just sucks, don't buy.

Works great

I read the reviews and I was a bit scared to order this model because people complained about some smell , or that it have to be pressed to straighten the hair. But I received it, turned it on , took 1mminute to heat up to 410 , I used it , and no issue. Works great as my other Remington one. So I do recommend it .
