Honest Review, great tent but a few flaws
I really really struggled over giving this tent a 4 star vs. 5 star. Maybe it doesn't matter in the end, but I carefully consider other peoples reviews when making purchases that are a bit pricey and I won’t have an opportunity to change my mind once in the woods so I’m hoping my review helps you in deciding on this tent or not. I needed a tent that would last me for several weeks and not fail. I had a limited budget and a lot to consider such as size, durability, rain resistance and ease of set up. If all you want to know bottom line up front, is this tent worth the $200+/-, yes, yes it is. It is big, allowed me to fit a queen size bed with a ton of room to spare, is tall enough and utilizes space well enough that is was truly a joy to go camping. There was no bending over or loss of space due to size. The cube shape is fantastic! Okay, so here are the benefits: • Extremely ventilated!!! The large windows and vented ceiling is a HUGE bonus, allowing for a maximum airflow you just don't regularly experience in tents • Rain flaps around all the windows and door frame. Wow, it rained A LOT while camping and we stayed totally dry. The front rain flap is also a con but I’ll explain why later. • Tub style bottom. While it came with a very water resistant bottom, we still added a ground tarp for extra security. But again, as mentioned above, we had a couple days of non-stop rain and it stayed very dry in the tent. The floor stayed dry and the sides stayed dry. • Tall! I'm not huge at 5'8 so I had no problem. But even if I was a few inches taller I would still have plenty of head room. • Big! When we had several others camping with us we had a queen size and twin mattress side-by-side and still had room for all our bags and gear. • Material - The material is light but strong. It is also sewn very well, with even stitches and a clear adhesive tape over all the stitching to keep water out and protect the thread. The tent is pretty darn well made and while the material is a light weight tent material, I saw no signs of weakening by the end of the trip and that is with falling against the sides several times for various reasons - late night bathroom breaks and tripping and what not. • The straps and tie downs: I read several reviews about the tent not fitting peoples pop-up canopies but I just don't see how that could be a problem if you got a straight leg 10x10 or as I got, a 10x20. The ceiling strap offers two options to accommodate whatever style pop up you have. So if you need it taller, it's got that option. You need it shorter, has that option too! The side clasps for hooking onto the bars were easy to put on and take off. The velcro allowed enough wiggle room to make it tighter or looser. All around it should pretty well fit any pop up and you can adjust. Cons: *and as you’ll see, are pretty few* • THE FRONT ZIPPER!!!! All the window zippers were fine. Let me be clear, I had no issues with those. But the front door.... and this is why I struggled so hard with giving a 5 star rating... Not one time in the entire two weeks of using this tent did the front zipper not get caught while trying to open the doorway. EVERY SINGLE TIME it got caught. Major design flaw. It got caught right at the top or bottom where the rain guard was stitched. I was so close to just cutting the damn thing off from frustration. This is also where it makes a difference however if you don’t have an awning which if you have a 10x10 pop up and it rains, you’ll want that guard. But with my tent and pop up, I just wanted to rip it off with my teeth I was so frustrated. The zipper really sucked. Don’t get me wrong, it's heavy duty, but is stitched terribly. • The ventilation could also be a negative. On cold nights there is no way to cover the ceiling vent. So in the summer, under a sturdy frame, it's a blessing. But don't be fooled, this is NOT a 3/4 season tent. It's only really good for warm weather. Not positive or negative, just my thoughts: • The dog door. It's not really a con, but I don't know anyone, including myself, who will just open the door for a dog while camping and say, go ahead pooch, go on out there yourself. Or leave a dog in the tent alone and let them out the dog door. It was just kind of stupid. I can see why it might be helpful in some situations, such as if you had a cooler or shoes there, but why would you leave your shoes on the side where they could get rained on? And you really wouldn't be able to reach inside a cooler from the bottom of the tent. I could live without it and I have dogs. I think it’s just a silly marketing ploy for people who have dogs but it’s not actually practical. • One the "benefits" is the front door mat they say comes with the tent. < I'll be honest with you, I laughed when I saw it. I would just throw it out. Useless. Too cheap of a material to withstand being walked on and not really a secure way to stake it down. I got a tarp large enough that I just made my own front walk to park my shoes. Next year I'll be adding an outdoor carpet and that should really do the trick. A note on popups: If you haven’t figured it out by now, this tent does not include a pop up. You have to buy that separate. And, you get what you pay for. I'll say it again. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I would not recommend using this tent with a cheap pop up canopy. I actually looked at a few EZUP's (the same brand as the cube tent) - which this tent is made for, and thankfully decided against it. They are cheap cheap cheap. I paid $400 for my pop up and it was worth every single penny. I also took a gamble because I couldn't find anyone else that had tried it, but got a 10x20 so I would have an awning. It was so worth it. I know it's a different company and a different product, but I got the ABC Canopy Pop Up 10x20. It works really well with the tent. It's heavy duty, and while you can't really see it in the picture, the canopy itself is a much sturdier material than the cheaper EZUP and Walmart Ozark Trails versions. The frame was solid, the canopy was solid and it withstood extreme winds and rain at our campground while I saw a lot of cheaper pop ups collapse or bend or leak. I guess that’s it and up to you now and what you want to do. I hope you found this review helpful and happy camping.

The ability to stand up and use every inch of floor space makes me love this setup.
Although it is not difficult to setup It's probably a little too much for some people if your campsite is far away from your vehicle. You have to take a 10X10 canopy to your spot in addition to this tent. My EzUp canopy has wheels and is easy enough to pull behind, but taking it long distances would not be fun. If car camping and the spot is close it really is as easy as 1, 2, 3. 1.) Put up 10X10 canopy 2.) Attach Cube -Clips on top, Velcro on corners. 3.) Secure the Canopy and Cube with stakes. I used this in a rain storm and temps that dropped below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I was amazed at how well it kept the cold draft from hitting me and we stayed dry all weekend. The top has a small meshing for ventilation in the center that can be used with the windows to add or remove air flow. The zippers for the doors are heavy duty and sometimes difficult to move. Not a problem for me, but could prove problematic for smaller campers. Full disclosure, moving the legs of the canopy and adjusting the Velcro may make the zippers easier to move. Although there are two visible doors, the zippers are for only 1 door at a time. So, entry is one side or the other. You can move the zippers all the way to the other door, but that would be a little tedious. I am very excited about this tent and think it is perfect for a week long Summer Camp! Two adults can share the space easily with two cots on each side with plenty of room for their stuff. Realistically, you can get more people in here no problem and the ability to stand up makes it a great tent.

Good for big family or extended trip
Great tent! It was a slight learning curve to go around and tighten all the straps but once done, it is a nice shelter with great ventilation. Our large family comfortably camped in the backyard and it's great for music festival season! With a king air mattress and camp dresser there was still room. We liked it so much we purchased another plus we have the screen version. I suggest a heavy duty canopy

The material
I like the quality of the material. I will be using it at the end of May. I'll take pictures and tell how it held up to the weather.

Glamping at its finest!
I used the tent with the EZ Up Vantage Canopy. It’s a great combo. I’ve been tent camping all my life and this is a great choice if you need more room. I loved that the walls are straight up (not sloped). You can stand up throughout the entire tent. Very sturdy. I may get the EZ Up walls to attach to canopy to deal with any high winds. Tons of fun for me and my family and dog!

just a couple issues.
Currently homeless, for reasons I have to set it up at night & take it down in the morning. First one lasted 2 weeks, while hammering in a stake with my axe I cut the fabric (My fault). Second issue is the stakes on the instruction picture are L shaped stakes & the ones provided were flat headed like giant nails, one got stuck in the ground and I only had the tab to pull on & the tab ripped clean off after the grommet ripped off (EZ Ups's fault). Third issue is the door, if it gets wet from rain then it's cold the next day the zipper gets a bit stuck and it feels like you'll rip the wall off, a metal zipper & some aluminum poles to reinforce the door would fix this (Also EZ up's fault). Great tent, just bought a second one as well as rebar stakes & ball bungees to secure the tent.

Love the tent, but the awning is crap
The tent is awesome. Good quality, awesome windows (4) that zip from the inside, doggy door and very spacious. The awning on the other hand is crap and you can't set up the tent without it. We set it up, and that night we had rain and the whole thing buckled and collapsed in on itself, destroying the awning. We ordered another one, we used parts from the first one to reinforce it. Now, if it rains you have to actively use a stick to push up on the awning to rid the collecting water or it WILL collapse. I called the company. They seemed reluctant to offer any help. Basically he said it can't be used in the elements or left up over night.and as soon as I said I bought it off Amazon, the conversation was over. He refused to discuss it any further. I wished the awning matched the quality of the tent.

The media could not be loaded. I paired this beauty up with a "10x10 coleman pop up instant shelter" - perfect quality set up.. The bag even fits the tent when you put it away.. Good quality well done .. Good zippers.. Good clips.. I couldnt be happier.. All in less than $600 including shipping ????????

Serves it's purpose well in dry weather only. Thinner fabric than expected.
THE GOOD: This tent looks good and is a great item to add to 10ft x 10ft canopy to get further use. It is spacious inside and set up is very simple as it attaches easily and quickly to the canopy frame structure. Has lots of window space so it vents very well. THE NOT SO GOOD: This tent is suitable for climates that DO NOT have rain and wind as it flaps around a lot and is not very water resistant. We added our separate canopy sidewall kit to the rear and side walls to increase wind and rain resistance. also added a tarp over the roof and front door areas as there is no awning. Would highly recommend the use of weight bags and tie-downs if you are planning to set up while it is windy as there is a lot of surface area. Great care must also be taken when opening the front door zippers as they easily jam-up on the very thin excess fabric around those areas.

It is not EZ up
The install instructions remind me of the early days of Chinese attempts. While the English is perfect the so called instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. I had to put the canopy up three times before I got that right but only two times for the Cube. VERY poor illustrations of what goes where; absolutely not images of the finished product (nor the stages you go through to get there) A few dollars more investment in that documentation would have paid off big time for the EZ outfit. After many hours of effort (it took 2 hours last evening to get the Cube up and attached) I am finally in a position to finish the project tomorrow. I would not have wanted to put this up for the first time on a camping trip! On the upside the quality of the materials looks very good (I really like the quality of the zippers) and the spacious interior and three wide windows and two doors will certainly add to our enjoyment of the tent. (I have installed it on my veranda for the winter as we enjoy going out every evening, even at -20C to enjoy being outside. My advice to EZ is to fix your documentation, even on your Website ... inexpensive with huge pay offs! Don
