Amazing Cabinet - Terrible packaging for shipping - 3 cabinets all have damage
Bought three of these over a months time, every one arrived damaged, the cabinet it very sturdy and well built (once assembled). However, the box it is shipped in has almost no protection for the contents inside. Each piece has chips, cracks or dents. Exo Terra needs to find a better materials and packaging engineer b/c the current package almost guarantees it to arrive damaged. Instructions are not super clear and leave a lot to be desired, however its not the worst thing I have assembled. if I had to do it again, I would order two and then mix and match the undamaged parts to get one cabinet without damage and return the broken one.

My review
It didn't come with instructions I realized instructions you have to Google online with Exo Terra and the instructions only show the large setup not for the medium or the small oh, it was pretty common sense to set up only took me about 30 minutes. I love it if it's perfect it's exactly what I was looking for I wouldn't say that it's worth $200 more like 70 oh, but it's something I've wanted for a long time and read the description and reviews and said I'd finally purchase it. There is no damage the carrier did a good job handling it and it was also delivered on time. It looks great in my room and I'm super happy along with my snake watched me put it together the whole time and I think he's just as happy. My terrarium coordinates are the Natural Terrarium Small/Low 45 x 45 x 30 cm / 18” x 18” x 12” (WxDxH) which fits on top perfect. It comes with these little studs/stoppers on top to hold the tank in place. It's perfect!

Instructions suck, but sturdy cabinet.
Shipping was quick, labeled and handled well...unlike my last order that broke an hour from my house (different seller). 1) this is one of the only cabinets we could find that would work with our tank dimensions. Glad we finally got one, as our tank has just been taking up our counter top. 2) the package came with the wrong assembly instructions in the box. It was for an entirely different model. Fortunately I was able to find the right one online, picture included for folks. 3) instructions were not that great. You have to balance both glass doors, while lining up the shelf piece. Which may not sound too hard, but I assure you, it's beyond frustrating. I recommend having a second person. If the glass wasn't tempered, it would have broke a handful of times during this step. It even took a chunk out of the particle board when one of them fell over once. 3a) you have to flip the whole thing completely over, with the glass installed. It's not unbearably heavy, but it's not light either. Again, more effective to have 2 people. 4) this is probably the thickest particle board I've ever worked with while assembling something lol. It's 1 1/4 thick. It definitely feels sturdy. However if you have a tank like mine, I would still put an angle bracket in it and the wall, just in case.

BEAUTIFUL BUT DIFFICULT ASSEMBLY
This product is BEAUTIFUL and looks so nice for my reptiles. Really nice looking cabinet and I’m glad EXO-TERRA has their own now because it seemed IMPOSSIBLE to find one with the right dimensions. The only issue I had was the ASSEMBLY. It took me 2 hours! They instructions were poorly shown/written and they didn’t label the wood panels so I had to use process of elimination to figure it out. One other small issue is that the side panels didn’t match up with the finished side (one was finished on top, the other on the bottom) but you can’t even see them so that’s not an issue. Still completely worth the time and effort! Would absolutely recommend if you have patience.

product
received product today and had to look up instructions online because it did not come with the right instructions. the product was also completely taped that it took 45 minutes to get the tape off and box opened. other than that I love the product

Overall quality is actually great, just needs some shipping adjustments.
Assembly: wasn't difficult, but it wasn't easy either. I blame that on the weight of the individual parts though. Condition: the stand and, to a lesser extent, the cardboard box it was in were pretty banged up, but they weren't destroyed. The styrofoam inside the box was everywhere; it was a mess. (Pictures were taken after I got done building, but they arrived the same, I promise that.) Instructions: definitely need to be looked over and edited; different parts were listed in the written instructions than were shown in the visuals, but I only realized there were written instructions after it was nearly done being built.

Great cabinet, terrible kit.
I do a lot of build-it-yourself furniture projects, from kits and from scratch, and I love my Exo-Terra cabinet for sure; BUT: It came in the worst kit I have ever had to assemble. Absolutely nothing was labeled. Not a single board had a designation, though the instructions say "Start with Panel 3" or "Assemble Panels 4 and 5"; you have to guess which panel is which by staring at the whopping one page of vague picture instructions. None of the screws and such are labeled either. They are in two baggies, loose, and again you need to identify them individually by the drawings in the instructions. The cabinet is sturdy and holds my terarrium wonderfully, but it was a massive headache to put together. It took about an hour, but it could have only taken 15 minutes if things had proper labels and clearer instructions.

You take pot luck buying one of these cabinets!
I really like the design of these cabinets, they compliment the Terrariums looks smart and they are very sturdy when assembled. The assembly instructions are mostly clear and straight forward. HOWEVER I only gave three stars because the cabinet is damaged. I ordered one a year ago and it too was damaged but luckily the damage was hidden inside and to the rear of the cabinet. This time although I was reassured by the fact that the packaging that the item shipped in was intact and unmarked, once unpacked I found one of the side panels had been dropped mashing the front corner out of shape and cracking the black veneer across the opposite corner. Terrible Quality Control by the manufacturer. This was obviously damaged BEFORE it was packed or was a return item that was repackaged and sent out as the damaged panel was INSIDE surrounded by undamaged ones!! Had I not needed to set up the terrarium concerned urgently I would have returned the item. Considering the price these retail at I am disgusted that they arrive damaged and funny how the "My Order" page has no seller feedback option either.....

Hit and miss
Hit and miss ,I've bought two of these and both been damaged on one corner ,the packaging could be better ,one was damaged more than the other but but both are usable.easy to put together and holds the terrarium well with the pegs holding it on place .great little cabinet that keeps everything neat and tidy but for what it is I feel it is overpriced.

Solid, but don't rely on the given description.
My cabinet arrived about 1 hour ago, and is now fully constructed. It's certainly a solid piece of furniture, and I'd imagine you'd be able to set a fair amount of weight on it. As many reviewers have already stated, the packaging was questionable, and the top section of mine did indeed have a chip on it - nothing a dab of black paint won't cover, but I suspect the average rating would go up if the manufacturer included some polystyrene padding in their packing. I'd got the 90cm Regular cabinet, and no back panels are included so, in the description where they say that there's "cut outs for wiring" well, they're not lying. The back panels are possibly included on the slimmer versions. And there was no "drop down" workstation, either, but I don't think I'd have used it anyway, it'd be too low and my spine wouldn't thank me. But, despite the small chip and the lack of rear panelling, I'm pleased with my purchase, and I'd certainly recommend it.

Arrived damaged!
Arrived damaged. Top of left support panel totally bashed and bent. I put it together as I urgently needed it. Lucky enough it sits with damaged side to another cabinet, so it's kind of ok. However considering the costs I would rather have one without flaws! I purchased several of those cabinets before, never had a problem, they are sturdy and the wife is experienced in putting them together in under 10 min. So overall a good purchase if you want a strong cabinet to support your vivarium, storage underneath is plenty. However disappointed with condition this time. Hope this helps!

Nice unit - appalling quality control
Purchased the unit and as other reviewers have said, aware of "potential issues" with packaging & quality of the product. To my delight the package was delivered without any sign of damage - not a single dent on the cardboard. However after opening the package I realised that the packaging is in better condition than the actual unit inside.. which clearly means poor quality control on manufacturer's side. That is disappointing because the actual unit is well designed and fit for purpose. The only thing I would improve would be to add a back panel to the part of the cabinet with glass door. So, if you're thinking of ordering this unit bear in mind that in the absence of quality control, you just have to be lucky to receive a unit that is in acceptable condition. Good luck!
