Seems sturdy, installation instructions are horrible

Very easy to install especially because I'm putting mine in a garage with exposed studs. Seems very sturdy but Everlast did a horrible job with instructions. Very grateful I took my time and didn't strip the bolts because I had to take the unit down and reverse the parts a few times. I'll update once I've been using it for a month

I bought this for my son and he loves it we put it in are garage next to his heavy bag and he goes out there in the morning and hits it all day Stability I rate it a five because I put it on a concrete wall

Good speed bag plat form, just a little vibration, height challenged.

This Everlast speed bag platform is definitely an upgrade from the one that comes with the Everlast heavy bag and speed bag platform combo. If nothing else, having the platform attached to a solid wall or framing against the wall like I did makes the platform a lot more stable and a lot less vibration. The speed bag platform that came with my other separate heavy bag and speed bag combo was a failure from the start, I ended up using that speed bag platform support for my single cable pulley exercise system, I'm pretty sure it'll carry the exercise weights.....hope it doesn't fail and kill me! (see pic) LOL! But back to this separate speed bag platform, it's very usable in and by itself, but it's still vibrates a little so I will go ahead and put a sand bag on top to absorb that vibration. Also, my floor to ceiling height is just 89" (7'-5"). In addition, I have some conduit issues running tight against the corner of that ceiling which effectively would have taken away another 4" of ceiling space. So I ended up building a frame around those conduits and attaching the platform framework to that built up framing to get the platform right up to the ceiling (see pic). The way I have it set up now, the bottom of the speed bag is just above the bottom of my chin, the platform has one more notch upwards that I can adjust to (about 2"), but that's it! I am 5'-8", so the platform with a 89" (7'-5") floor to ceiling height would probably support someone up to 5'10" (after moving the platform up to that last adjustment notch). YMMV, but keep in mind, if you put the platform any lower, the bag would be difficult to hit and you will likely end up just hitting the platform itself! All in all, this speed bag platform worked for me, albeit with some verticular challenges.

Perfect For My Home Gym!

Great bag platform for the home gym!! I bought the "Elite" speedbag platform after reading the reviews and must say I'm glad I did. The Elite is a rock solid. You won't loose speed or rhythm to the movement of a flimsy frame or board. Mine came with Everlast's NEW style chrome plated Pro swivel that allows bag removal with the pulling of a simple cotter pin. (Not the hard to use old "Pro" style galvanized swivel with the chain link.) Coupled with a leather 4214 speed bag, this is one GREAT workout station! I'd like to address some of the "issues" that that others have mentioned that might make you think twice about the Elite: First, and obviously, you will need tools to assemble and install. A drill, drill bit, #2 Phillips head screw driver, tape measure, Torpedo (magnetic is a plus) level, and adjustable wrench will do the trick. These are all basic tools even if you live in an apt. If you don't already own these, you should... These tools will be easy to find if you don't want your own a tool kit. Mounting Hardware: This unit comes with all the hardware needed EXCEPT the fasteners to mount the horizontal wood pieces to the wall. This is reasonable, since Everlast has no idea where you'll hang your unit. Why add to the cost of the unit by adding a bunch of un-needed hardware? - To mount through ½" drywall into wood studs, I used 4 ea - 5/16" x 4" Lag Screws, and washers (Cost about $2.00 total at Lowes), plus a longer drill bit to pre-drill the wall studs for the Lag Screws ($5.00 at Lowe's, but will go into my toolbox and be usable long after this project is done.) Lowe's sales folks can help you decide which is the best hardware for your application. I usually like to span 3 studs when hanging stuff, too, but this kit is set-up to attach to two, at 16". This is absolutely not a problem, my platform does not move what so ever. Ceiling Height: I'm 6'1 and set mine about 4 inches down from an 8ft ceiling. I'm using the top setting, (bottom of the bag about mid nose height) so if you are much taller, you may want to hang a little higher. Instructions: It really doesn't need any... There are only 8 separate parts, plus fasteners. A simple look at the front of the box (or the Amazon product photo) will show you how every thing assembles. Just start by figuring how high your top wood needs to be and work your way down. Keep things plumb and level. Took my son and I about 1.5 hours to install, and we were clowning around much of the time. All in all, this is the perfect set-up for my family and friends. I highly recommend this unit!

Overall good value for the price

This is a good platform for a firat platform. Anyone with boxing mileage on a speed bag will need to put some type of weight on the top to keep the board from reverberating. Having said that, I am well pleased with the co instruction, and co sider having to add some weight to the top or stabilize in a slightly different manner easier than making my own and cheaper than an upgrade at almost double the price. I had to attach it myself with cement screws to the basement wall---these screws do not come with the unit if you also have to attach to cement. Overall a good buy. Instructions were easy to use. Unit was easy to assemble. Had to figure out best way to attach to wall but other than that it works. Smooth board. Lots of range for height differences. Aesthetically pleasing too if that counts for anyone.

Awesome Product

This wall mount is easy to put together and I had no problems assembling and installing on my own. Very sturdy and solid while also being easy to adjust for a range of athlete heights. Both my teens are loving this. I have also tried it out and I am impressed with its build quality. The swivel assembly appears solid but based on some other general comments about the swivels on speed bags I opted to replace it with a more heavy duty option. Definitely a product that I would recommend.
