First graders loved it
I mentor first grade readers and used it today one on one and one on two students and played go Fish. All eight of them said it was fun and they liked it. Can’t wait to try the matching game With it! Fairly durable. I wish they were laminated so I could clean them. It is flu season. I have card paddles for small hands that They put the cards in and they can hold several cards. I ordered these on Amazon also

This has been a great resource. This company was also good on service
I bought both the Edupress Splat Card Game sets Grades K-1 and Grades 1-2. The words are from the Dolch Sight Word list. I have used the cards with a first grader. We use the cards to play Concentration and also Go Fish. She loves the games. It is a painless way to reinforce sight word vocabulary. This has been a great resource. This company was also good on service. I bought the Splat K-1 card set in early December. As of January, it had not arrived. I let the company know and they sent a replacement which arrived in a few days. Thank you !

Good game for sight words
I bought this for my Kindergartener who I am homeschooling. Sight word practice helps kids become more fluent readers. It contains three different color decks with different words mixed in each. I play this with my 6yo and my 3yo wants to participate. It's a simple game, but I have my 6yo read the words he's looking to find and the ones I'm looking to find. I also have him be the game captain so he turns over the calling cards, reads the words, and then we find them. He enjoys it and hasn't complained about playing it. I rubber band each of the individual decks together. Wish the box was better designed--so that I could keep each deck together AND use the box. If better packaging is my only complaint, then assume the product is good.

Confusing
I had high expectations for this game but it was not what I expected. It comes in 2 piles, K and 1-2 grade. I read the instructions twice but it dust make much sense. The calling cards do not have all the words so if you pick the wrong pile the calling cards will not match with any of the words you lay out. Then we tried to play it as a memory game. First we had to find all the doubles and that was pretty rough on its own. But they are too many so you do a smaller pile and then lay them out. That worked out better but my 5 years old wanted to play with ALL the cards and that was just a mess. We haven't used the 1-2 grade cards yet but scrolling through them I saw the words are not too difficult but now I don't know if I can mix the 2 piles and how I will separate them again if we want to play memory. Overall I do not like this game. I gave 2 stars because my son likes it and it can be used to help learning sight words. BTW Splat seems to be a variation of a regular bingo .... but again not all words are in the calling cards. The green set has most of the calling cards whole the red set has none. I just don't get why.

The sight word cards are useful and fun
I volunteer at an elementary school reading and teaching sight words. The sight word cards are useful and fun. I sort out the cards by color and work on one set at a time. The calling cards are sorted out and only used in certain games. The students I work with like playing splat, and they like go fish, which is another game that can be played with these cards. I could have printed out cards from a teaching resource, but I didn't want to bother so these cards work well for my purposes.

Perfect for short attention spans
This is similar to bingo without the little markers and much quicker. Each box has three different decks so you could set up 3 separate groups to play simultaneously or make a larger deck. We have successfully played with 6 students plus a caller. With my lower readers, we will play one-on-one and then play a matching game with the cards and calling cards we just used. I use this successfully in my 3rd grade reading intervention groups for Friday fun day.

and my students love playing this game
I am a first grade teacher, and my students love playing this game! It’s fun and engaging and reinforces those reading skills in such a fun way! My kids never want to stop playing this game. It’s a great way to teach those trick words because the students who struggle with certain words get help from their teammates and after a little while, they’ve learned the words. My partner and I played this game and we had a blast!
