Decievingly small spoon
The reason I bought this spoon and a few other wooden utensils is that I have been buying up several Le Creuset pots and pans, which I adore and work the best with wood utensils. I was actually all ready to give this spoon a 1 star review. The reason why is that the picture and description don't really point out that this spoon is actually almost small enough to be used for eating with. If it were any smaller, it would be a teaspoon. That being said, I tend to use it every day, now. A short time after I got this spoon, I had dental surgery. Now, practically every time I eat, I am using a Le Creuset 1-1/4 Qt Saucepan to make either applesauce or a can of Campbell's soup. This spoon is the perfect size for that exact saucepan. In fact, none of my other wooden utensils are small enough to fit in it. The length of the spoon, also, is perfect, just long enough to keep your hand away from the steam, but not too long to create a functional lever to accidentally fling food from the pan when stirring. If you have smaller enameled pans then I highly recommend this spoon.

I first saw this in store and thought it could be nice because it felt really heavy and made of good wood. And I like the size very much. But once I received and used it, I notice that it wasn't sealed well at all. Once you wash it, the wood color changed after it's dried. And the worst thing is, you can taste the wood as it has really strong smell after soak in liquid. I don't think it's good for cooking. Not recommend.

Not what I expected.
This set of salad servers are thin and much too long. One of the two di not look like olive wood. It was a plain flat white. I expected heavier for the price.

The tongs are great! They're comfortable to hold and use, really easy to wipe clean if you're using them for multiple steps in the cooking process and don't want to entirely wash them. But they do wash very easily as well! They're a good length to toss and turn salads, and I was able to flip things in a pan with them as well- they grab items nicely. They're streamlined and fit nicely in my crowded utensil drawer!

I misread the description and am not sure what to do with a wooden spoon this small. It does however appear well made and durable.

The color matches the photo but they are quite light
I was looking for tongs to match a darker salad bowl I have... they were as pictured, kind of, so I oiled then as they appeared a bit dry... I don't know woods enough to be able to identify them all so if they are not the actual wood I wouldn't be able to tell you, but they are thin and very light ... That may be correct for this kind of wood. But I do wish they were heavier and more substantial.

Almost too beautiful to use!
I just received the 13" Olive Wood Salad Set and am delighted with the look, feel, smell and sight of both pieces. I can't wait to use them (or maybe I'll just put them on display in my kitchen). The Olive Wood is so gorgeous that I'm now searching out an Olive Wood bowl to match. I also ordered the 10" and 12" Olive Wood SpoonsHIC Harold Imports Olive Wood Spoon 12-Inch - and they're just perfect too. PS. I just added the 13.5" Spoon to my wish list - you should too!
