Easy set up and easy storeing

Chair is very portable, light and useful for trips. Bag wont last long. Don't roll it.

PROS: lightweight, easy to break down and put right back up. We used it for a trip to Europe. Mom has chronic fatigue and she needs to constantly rest and sit down. This chair allowed us to keep up with our trip, as well mom didn't feel like slowing us down. It was easy to carry it from airport to airport without any problem. THE CHAIR IS GREAT! CONS: The cheap bag!!...we used this chair for the very first time 4 weeks ago and the bag looked beautiful for only 5 minutes. Its funny a recent comment just described the same issue: We gate-checked the bag on a flight and the bottom of the bag ripped almost immediately (we found too late that most of the bag sits on the bottom, and very little part sits on the tiny fragile wheels. It took only a 10 minute walk through our hotel after we landed to find out the bag was almost destroyed. This was just at the beginning of our 3 weeks trip, so It became easier to assemble the wheelchair and roll it around even if no one was sitting on it, rather than rolling or carrying the bag ourselves. (it became a pain on the neck for almost all of our trip) If the bag were of better quality, i would have given this product a 5 star without hesitation. (the rolling bag was the reason i decided this wheelchair over other options)

Perfect for travel and touring on good surfaces

We purchased this to use on a cruise ship for someone who cannot stand or walk for long stretches without becoming exhausted. It packs small enough to fit in a mid size sedan car truck with several suitcases and is very easy to assemble. I did practice at home a few times before taking it out just to make sure I could easily unfold and fold. We have never purchased a wheelchair as the need is new so this was a good starter and served us well. The design is narrow enough to fit through the state room doors on the cruise ship and was easy to navigate through crowds and narrow spaces. The only drawback was expected but a bit worse than we thought - it needs smoother surfaces for traveling because the wheels are small and not a terrain material. It did wonderfully in port, on the ship and in the cities with good surfaces but did very poorly on the cobblestones and broken sidewalks of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Now that we are back, it travels lightly in my car trunk without taking up much space - I can easily fit all my groceries and shopping around it.

I received the item in good packaging and in good condition

I am giving it a 4 at this time. I received the item in good packaging and in good condition. When I started assembling the product, one arm rest piece does not lock into position thus making it unsafe for my 84 year old other to hold on to the arm rest when getting in and out of the transport chair. One of the arm rest does not lock and can not be adjusted unlike the other side. The locking mechanism was so short that it does not lock in place. The other side has an adjustable locking mechanism where you can turn the knob clockwise and counterclockwise adjusting the locking mechanism. The knob on one side can not be adjusted and is stuck thus making it unable to lock in place and unsafe when holding into the arm rest rail. I will be calling the customer service to ask for a part replacement since it can be unscrewed to be able to replace it. Overall, it looks sturdy. We have not used it because of the safety issue. I will update the review when I talk to Drive Medical customer service and see how they will respond to this issue.

Very portable and easy to use; great for trips.

Portability wise this is the best. I just received it so I will do a full review/update next month. It does seem to weight close to 30 lbs but size wise, it is about size of two kids folding chair. After assembly, and couple dry run, it takes about 4 min to put back in the bag, Took 2 min to fold and put in the car trunk (without take off foot rest) UPDATE: Used to take my mother on Europe trip. Very handi in airports and it held up 10 mile daily moving through uneven London, Paris cobblestone streets, subway stairs and escalators. It held up well with 150 lb person on it most of the time (10 hours a day) about 10 miles in avg. After 9th day one of the nut from leg stand came loose, mostly from moving up and down constantly as we folded everytime we got into the bus, train, subway. With lots vibration over uneven street (stone pavement with huge gaps and cobblestones) everything else stood up to the test. with this much travel wheels have been so worn I will need new wheels. Acceptable given we travel over 100 miles of various street in Istanbul, London,and Paris (including in Versailles)

Great travel wheelchair

We bought this wheelchair because we got tired of hauling my husband's regular wheelchair up and down the stairs when we went somewhere in our handicap van. We leave this one near the lower level door to use in the van and it works better than his regular wheelchair because it has better places to hook the handicap anchors in the van. The only problem is that the armrests don't flip back--they pull off. As my husband needs to slide to transfer, the armrest needs to be moved and it's easier to have them flip back.

Outstanding wheelchair!!!

This truly is the greatest way to own a wheelchair, ever! This arrives fully put together with the exception of the foot rests, which are easily attached. It opens and expands like a folded up beach or stadium/tailgating portable chair! It's lightweight yet sturdy and comes in its own carrying bag! I thought perhaps the lower cost or "wheelchair in a bag" idea might make it a semi-shoddy product, but it is AWESOME! It's even a lightweight carry in that bag in which it arrives inside the box. Breaks down back into the bag just as easily. So, for those of you with someone in your life who needs help like this only when faced with a lot of walking, due to any reason, i.e., age, injury, post-surgery recovery, etc., , but you don't want to spend a fortune, this is the chair for you! The friend I pushed around in it today said he was very comfortable and the chair itself is easy to push and maneuver. And this is coming from someone who had to push him while dealing with my own knee injury, so I can't say enough good things about it. The back wheels are easy to lock as well. Great purchase, high quality, will be used for many years! Highly recommended!

Far too heavy to be considered transportable by me, at age 70, for my husband, aged 80. Also the foot rests had to be removed whenever the chair was collapsed to fit in the bag. What do I do with the foot rests? Again too heavy to go in hand luggage.

Für kurze Transporte ok

Praktischer Klappstuhl mit Trolleytasche. Der Rollstuhl kann indoor als auch Outdoor benutzt werden - allerdings muss man sich im Klaren sein, dass er nicht sonderlich bequem ist (ggfs. Kissen drunter legen), die Rollen nicht für lange Strecken geeignet sind und man ihn nicht höhenverstellen kann für den, der schiebt. Ich würde sagen, er ist praktisch, um geschwächte oder gehunfähige Menschen indoor/outdoor zu transportieren. Z.B bei Arztbesuchen, vom Bett ins Bad etc. Mehr aber auch nicht. Ansonsten empfehle ich einen richtigen Rollstuhl mit mehr Komfort, der ebenfalls klappbar sein kann und vor allem bei Bürgersteig/ Kanten etc. gekippt werden kann.

Absolut überzeugt

Wir haben den Stuhl für einen Familienurlaub mit unserer Großmutter gekauft. Sie kann nur noch kurze Strecken gehen und ist den Großteil des Urlaubs gefahren worden. Die Handhabung hat unserer Erwartungen bei dem Preis wirklich übertroffen! Wir waren in der spanischen Stadt, in der der Boden auch mal holprig sein kann, täglich am Strand und auch die An- und Abreise mit Flugzeug und Bus lief aufgrund des schnellen Auf- und Abbaus einwandfrei. Wir als Familie können das Produkt jederzeit weiterempfehlen und freuen uns auf weiter Urlaube damit!
