Not what I wanted but it works

I need extra additional trunk stability when I drive my van so I use a chest strap. Part of my strap was missing when my chair was returned to me after an airline flight. Rather than go through a wheelchair vendor and pay a huge amount of money for a chest strap I made one myself. When I ordered this I figured that I was getting the Velcro closure because that's what showed when I clicked on the picture, and that's the one that I wanted. Of course, I got the one with the seatbelt buckle closure. The material of the straps isn't as sturdy as I would like it and the buckle doesn't make much of a "click" when I close it (so you really need to make sure it's secured) but I decided to make it work. I purchased two one and a half inch (1 and 1/2 inch) rings, cut off the ends with the screw eyelets, looped an end through each ring, and sewed them securely. The rings then go on each wheelchair push handle and you buckle the strap around your chest. You can find the rings at amazon.com, hardware stores, and/or big home improvement stores.

Was very easy to install. My mom no longer has to worry that she might fall out of the wheel chair. If your wheel chair does not have a seat belt that is working. Please replace.

better than the one that came with the chair

Was replacing the all plastic belt clamp that broke. This is much easier to use and sturdier. It should be the one that comes with the original chair!

One of the straps is shorter than the other one

My only gripe about this product is that one of the straps is shorter than the other one other than that it works just fine

Best for manual chairs

This belt is best for a manual chair because the female end is short it only is long enough to reach the hip of the person in the chair. It is just like a automobile lap belt.

Excellent product

Purchased this belt to replace one with a plastic clasp that came on a shower wheel chair. The plastic clasp broke and allowed user to fall to the floor. Should have replaced the plastic clasp belt when the chair was first purchased. You can't beat a good metal clasp/buckle such as came with this replacement belt. The belt attached to the wheel chair easily.
