SAVED MY BACK!
My mom has dementia and suddenly began having trouble getting in and our of my car. She could stand but he could not move her feet sideways. When I tried to pivot her into a wheelchair from the car I could feel my back pull and she said her legs hurt. I bought this disc and honestly, it is a dream. I put it under her feet, she pulls herself up then I just easily pivot her over. its a miracle!

Lifesaver - this product is the best
I am so thankful for this product. My wife has MS and lost mobility. It is very difficult to lift her up to move her from lift recliner to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet, ect. This transfer disc saved the day (and my back). It easily goes underneath her feet. She wraps her arms around my shoulders (her arms are weak) and I lift her up. The disc does the work and transfers her quickly to her next spot. Because it is so quick, it always me to use less energy and get her there faster. She is bigger than me (5'10" 220) and I am smaller at 5'1. I noticed in some videos about this item that they have the caregivers using their feet to move the disc. We don't have to do this as it moves automatically. I'm not sure why that tip was needed. Maybe it depends on how you lift someone. The disc is super light weight. Whoever invented this product knows exactly what she is talking about. It is really great and I highly recommend. I might actually get another one to keep in the car. Thanks!

My husband has severe Parkinsonism and has trouble standing and moving his feet when I transfer him from bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet, etc. This is a very useful tool for reducing the strain of moving him the 90 degrees necessary for the transfer. I learned the hard way to place the disc where his feet would need to be for the target sit-down, instead of in the convenient place for the standing-up part of the transfer. I find that the disc does move smoothly but not effortlessly, which is a good thing, since you don't want it running away with your loved one. I put one of my feet on the disc with his, and shove it in the direction I want while hugging him up. Unfortunately, he also has severe dementia and does not understand the moving process, and he panics a bit when the disc starts to move with him on it, and then he resists my efforts to turn him on it. He either grabs onto anything he can find to resist the movement, or he goes rigid to resist the movement. I've stopped using the disc since I finally decided it might be easier to move him by main force (which he seems to understand better than the mysterious revolving floor), but I think that it would be great for someone who understands the moving process, isn't frightened by it, and can cooperate with the transfer.. Before I bought this disc I debated whether the 15-inch disc would be big enough or whether to spend an extra $20-30 for a 17 or 18-inch one. The size of the15 inch one is just fine for him: he's about 5'10", 160 lbs, and his size 91/2 feet in Crocs fit comfortably onto the disc, with room to spare for my one turning foot. If it weren't for the dementia-related resistance, I'd buy a couple more of these so could keep one in the living room, one in the bathroom, and one anyplace else where I was transferring him frequently.

After a year of having a tough time with my mother being transferred from the bed to the commode, or wheelchair, or from the wheel chair to a recliner, I finally found this product. My mom is mid 80’s with advanced Parkinson’s and suffers from muscle rigidity and frequently has the glued foot thing going on where her feet seem glued to the ground and she can’t take a step or lift her leg in her own. With a little practice this disk is fantastic for our needs and allows us to position her feet on the disk while lifting her up. I put my foot in between her feet half on and half off the disk to hold it secure until ready to turn her. Once I have her standing with both arms around her I simply move my foot off the disk and can easily rotate her on the turning disk to where we are going without her having to take a step. It has proven to be MUCH safer for her and the caregiver or me to move her with without worrying about her twisting an ankle or having to put too much pressure on her rib cage by physically lifting her off the ground when we are “stuck” in place. It is pretty easy to learn to use. Occasionally she will try to help us and take a step which can be a problem cause once one of her feet come off the disk it won’t turn easily. So when that happens you have to get the foot back onto the disk. But this has been a life changer and it’s much more safe for a single person transfer to do. I wish I would have found it a year ago. Her hospice nurse, and other caregivers love the device and have only had positive things said about it.

Work smarter, not harder.
My husband has Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and is unable to move his legs or take a step. Which means that moving him from wheelchair to bed had been quite challenging. After months of trying to lift him, turn him and adjust his direction from one place to another, my back was severely damaged. To the point where breathing was painful. As a caregiver, I felt horrible. I wanted him to be as safe as poss, but because of pain it was getting risky. Thankfully, his physical therapist recommended we get a pivot disc and a gait belt. I ordered them and life (and my back) has been much better ever since! This disc specifically is well made, turns easily and we LOVE the little non-slip grooves.

Best non-slip surface that doesn't come off!!!
I just bought my third disc. I purchased the first one in August 2015. My daughter is disabled and uses a power wheel chair. Since she is able to stand and support her weight, I use these discs for all kinds of transfers. The Drive disc is superior to the others because the entire disc has a surface that won't peel off. I spent twice the price for another brand that uses and an inferior adhesive to hold the non slip surface, and ended up with a bare white "lazy susan". I called the manufacturer to see if they could send me a new non-slip surface and was told they don't sell them., and wouldn't cover it as a warranty issue. I wish the diameter was a bit larger, but for the price and quality it is a superior transfer disc.

Great product!
This was purchased to help get my dad into bed and it works great! It's very slim and easy to turn. We sit him on it to turn him into his bed. It seems a little pricey, but compared to other models I've seen, it's definitely worth the money. I would definitely purchase this product again, but it's so well made, I'm certain I won't ever have to!

Breaks easily.
make certain that your flooring is rigid and flat as it doesn't take much to break the center punch mechanism. purchased a second as I thought it was a chance break but second broke despite lubrication with graphite\silicone type lubricant.

Fantastic
My husband is an incomplete Quad. I brought this transfer disk to move him from his wheelchair to his bed and vice versa. It makes transfers so much easier. I’d definitely recommend.
