Solid But Not To Heavy To Handle
As other reviewers have written this transfer board was rough in many spots. I used a sanding block and quickly smoothed out all the rough areas which seemed to primarily be residual dried glue along the edges and beveled ends of the bosrd. This board is made of several layers glued together. I deducted a star due to the lack of finishing the board. Also I have noticed the side I consistently use as the bottom is developing slight indentations where the board comes into contact with the wheel of my wheelchair when transferring. I do feel secure with using this board and chose a bariatric rated board both for weight security but also it was linger than many others. On occasion that extra length has been cumbersom when trying to pull the board out from beneath me. I would recommend this board as long as buyer is prepared to sand and possibly refinish it (I have not yet resealed where I sanded.)

Needs improving shouldn’t for the price!
The length of the board is great and what was needed but the feel of the board is less than desirable! In order for this board to work properly I am going to have it taken to someone to put a Urethane finish on it as it is in its current state rough, if you rub your hand back and forward against it you can feel the grit and sounds almost like you’re rubbing sandpaper. Don’t know how much getting the board sanded and finished will cost me but buyer beware it’s not a smooth board!

Good Quality and Sturdy - but not for us
We returned it. It probably works just fine for others. The quality seems very good and it is sturdy. But, for our elderly parent, it was not going to work. You HAVE to HAVE a wheelchair where the arms can be removed so the person can slide from it to the bed or commode. Our wheelchair and commode do not have removable arms and so it made it impossible to use. Thank you Amazon Prime for the ease in returning the product.

Finish is terrible
HEAVY NEGATIVE review from my father, who is utilizing this slide board with my mom... "I'm having to spend several hours plus paying for urathane to totally refinish it...rough isn't the word, it left splinters in the car seat. It cannot be returned because it's needed."

Great product!
Bought this to help transfer my husband from wheel chair to SUV. The length is perfect as the one from insurance is shorter. Very sturdy!

not what I expected
first the beveled edge was not very smooth it is roughly sanded and coated only slightly. The coating on the board is very thin compared to other boards.the beveled edge on one side is pushed in and slightly cracked as if some one dropped it. It is about a one quarter inch in diameter and it is pulling apart from the board. I cant return it because i really need it today and for many dr visits over the next three weeks. i will repair the rip by filling in the gap and re varnish it. the company should have realized it was a c minus board and not an a board. The cost should have been i/2 the price.What you pay for is what you get Proves this statement is not always true All in all it will suffice.

Highly recommend, even though it is a bit more expensive ...
Works very well for my father who is fully unable to walk or move his legs much. Makes it a lot easier for him to move from his chair to the wheelchair, etc. Highly recommend, even though it is a bit more expensive than many. Keep in mind though that many of the boards are very thin, splintering and break easily! Keep with stronger woods like this board so you don't end up in a situation that the family member/patient gets hurt.

Item arrived damaged. Patients cannot use this board as I recieved it. They will get skin pinched, cut or splintered.

Too small and expensive
Very expensive for a piece of wood that is too small to maneuver a patient.
