Almost works

I have severe back pain and can't walk distances. I thought this would allow me to go places with my husband. It probably would work for some, but I need a back rest when I sit. So while this does provide some relief, it's not a complete solution. It opens/closes easily. It's small so it's a bit unstable.

It's a quick fix for a place to sit

It seems to work on a solid floor, on the ground, it is a bit unstable....but gives a place to sit when changing muddy shoes or snow shoes or whatever.

Two New Knees Needed

Just what I needed as a 66 year old teacher going on a field trip to the zoo! Made walking easy with support! The seat was perfect for taking the weight off my knees! Several people asked where I got it! This purchase made the field trip a success!

This chair is stable, easy to carry on battlefields.

AWESOME THEME PARK CHAIR; TERRIBLE CANE

NOTE THAT THIS IS A MEDICAL DEVICE SO AMAZON CANNOT ACCEPT RETURNS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. So don't order one just to try it out; you've got to be committed to this thing. Perfect for theme parks. It is so nice to sit in lines instead of stand. Dland won't let you bring in a folding chair, but they will let you bring a cane chair as long as you assure the NPCs in security that you'll use it as a cane and not a chair. Security will make you stand if they catch you sitting on one out in the open (e.g., parades) but none of the other employees will because they have souls. No matter how many times they catch you sitting on one they cannot make you throw it away, all they can ask you to do is stop sitting. Then you can resume once the robots turn around. In 8 separate occasions of using this at Disneyland I only had one security a-hole ask me to not sit on it, and I was out in the open so it was easy for him to spot me. I don't think this thing will ever break. It doesn't fold up as small as other folding chairs out there, but it makes up for it in sturdiness. The fabric ones tend to rip if you get a crappy brand. The cane tends to come apart as you're walking so it's terribly inconvenient using as a cane. It's the worst cane I've ever used. If you're buying this for the cane, my recommendation would be to try your luck at Walmart or a store that sells wheelchairs/canes where you can try one out, then return them easily if they don't work out. I would also like to note that I got 1 day shipping for this. I had a folding tripod camping chair that folds up SUPER small, and I got caught with it at Disneyland and they literally made me take it back to the Disneyland hotel, so I was able to get this chair at about noon the next day, I just shipped it directly to the hotel front desk and the Amazon app told me when it was delivered. This was a life-saver because for the life of me, I could not find a brick-and-mortar store that sold these in Anaheim.

Very handy

I bought this product for my husband who has MS. He has balance and vertigo issues and occasionally needs to stop and recalibrate himself. He thinks it’s a fantastic cane and seat. He can walk a little further with a beak when needed and stand or sit in line without fear of swaying or falling. He feels safe sitting on it and it’s lightweight for walking. The only con is the legs don’t tuck in tighter like an umbrella for storage. He weighs 180lbs and is 5’10” tall.

Nice to have for those LONG lines!

This was most handy during the December lines at the post office and bank! It also came in handy when I needed to sit down and discuss repairs needed at the Corona-barricaded computer repair shop. They had no chairs for customers in their tiny, hole-in-the-wall shop, they put plexiglass across the door instead. Much better than the cheaper version which is flimsier & has no height adjustments. (Adjustment tubes may come off in transit, easily replaced, just press silver height adjustment buttons shown in last photo). Ships in a flat box as shown. You must lock the seat in place when folding it up after using the chair, to use it for walking. The only thing I'd change is to make it sturdy enough for heavier people. I've shown this to 2 handicapped folks who are either on or over the weight limit.

broke on first use

I can only speak for the one I bought. I am well under the weight restriction given for this product. I was going to give it to my 91 year old father-in- law as he likes to walk every day. Thank goodness I didn't. I had it put aside and yesterday I needed it in my spare room It collapsed underneath me pitching me into a large floor length mirrored wardrobe breaking and leaving large shards of glass everywhere. I had a hard tome getting up(as I'm a senior too) leaving my bottom and ribs sore and bruised. Sorry but I cannot recommend it.

Not for short folx

If your short you need to have the center pole so low that the exterior legs catch on the ground when you walk, creating a tripping hazard. You really can't use it as a cane because of this. I'm 5'8" and have it set just 1 stop above where this is a problem, so I wouldn't advise it if you're any shorter!

First, I have spinal stenosis and neurogenic claudication. That means I get into a lot of pain standing or walking for a period of time, varies between five and fifteen minutes, but sitting is fine. This is the opposite of degenerative disk drive sesame, who have their greatest trouble with sitting. I love to go shopping in large hardware stores, but by the time I get to the product I want to review, I am in too much pain to review it. Sitting on the floor attracts too much attention. Being able to sit down, read the details on an item, or look and exam different items being sold while in the store frees me to do the things I enjoy. After two or three minutes, the pain is gone, and on to the next item. It means I am not restricted to shopping at Amazon. On the other hand, I couldn't find this product any where else! You have to be careful with it as the construction is a balance between strength and portability. I'm am ex football player, built like one, and with a little care, it works just fine for me. Now I can spend hours in Home Depot, but I try to buy some stuff on Amazon to support it too. Because if you can't find it somewhere, you can find it here. Good product.
