Fits the Equpment

So the Hospice people brought the hospital bed for my mom. The air mattress has an air compressor, Drive Medical model 14001E. Like little aquarium air compressors, it's an inexpensive diaphragm compressor with some sound dampening stuff around it. It's fairly quiet, but nothing like silent. Like many other people, I'd like to move the compressor farther from the bed, which is why I bought this hose. I tried it, and it pushes on to the fittings on the compressor, and doubless will also work with the fittings on the mattress. What I received: It's a ~59" long pair of pieces of clear hose that have been melted together along the long edge so that they're a dual hose as is needed for this equipment. I measured with my caliper and found the hose to have an outer diameter of 0.370 inches a thickness of 0.060 inches and an inner diameter of 0.250 inches. I squeezed it with my fingers, and I'm estimating a Shore A hardness of about 30 - 35 durometers. It had no fittings. A note on terminology. Where I work, Hose is designed to seal to fittings with the inner surface, and the inner diameter is the nominal diameter. Tubing is designed to seal to fittings with the outer surface, and the outer diameter is the nominal diameter. So, I'm calling this product thin wall quarter inch hose. This is nothing like long enough to extend the distance between that pump and mattress, but it's mine, so I can chop it in the middle and connect fittings that will allow me to use something else (probably 5/16" nylon air tubing) to extend it. Because it's small, I would recommend connecting to it using the kind of hose barbs that don't need a clamp. For example: Weatherhead 100 B Series "Barb-Tite" (1/4" barb x 1/4" male pipe thread is #92011) For another example: Dixon 272 Series "Push-Lock" (1/4" barb x 1/4" male pipe thread (in lead free brass) is #2720404CLF) Then I can get 5/16" push to connect tubing x 1/4" female pipe thread (eg: ASIN: B09MLD6PD4 ) fittings and 100' of 5/16" nylon air hose (eg: ASIN: B00MRGXD9A ) and move that compressor an extra 50 feet away. Note, the reason I gave the product 4 stars isn't because I think it's less than ideal hose. I think it's excellent hose. I subtracted a star because the product name said it would be beige, and the product photo showed it coming with fittings, and neither was the truth. If they had advertised a clear dual hose with no fittings I'd consider the price somewhat high, but I'd call it a 5 star product.

Replacement parts are a necessity!

I like that I can get an extra tube for this air bed. I couldn't with the other, the company I purchased promised to call me back. I haven't heard anything from them!
