The dominos are great. I received them yesterday
The dominos are great. I received them yesterday, and except for a few minor color variations from what I was used to, they were fine. Also, the Hub is just a piece of flimsy, clear acrylic, but it is not a major problem. The problem was the box they were kept in. After I received them and checked them for errors, I put them all back in the vinyl box the came in for storage. After lining the individual dominos up very neatly, I put the Hub, the instructions and the eight trains (markers) back into the box and attempted to close and snap the lid. It was almost impossible to snap since the dominos packed inside kept moving and shifting. After a while I managed to get it snapped and then I picked it up to put it away. I happened to turn it on its side when I was carrying it and had dominos all over the floor. The box does not close completely on the sides so unless it is kept level at all times you can lose your dominos. (I cut a piece of cardboard to exactly fit the inside of the box and so after I load everything in the box, I put the cardboard on top - that keeps everything inside even when I turn it sideways.)

Such a fun game!
We were introduced to this game through our son and daughter-in-law a couple of years ago. We had such fun playing it over the holidays, that we ordered one for ourselves. We love hosting dinner parties with a "theme" or activity, and is one of the best aciivities we've found to play after the meal (sometimes during dessert). We also love to mix our various circles of friends we have acquired through our business and social lives. We've found that one of the best "ice breakers" is to invite 4 or 5 couples for dinner and introduce them to this game. The play always has a positive affect, creating lasting friendships. Several have told me that as a result of playing the game with us, they also purchased a set, introducing it to their friends, and on and on. The cost was certainly reasonable. The dominoes are substantial in weight and size, which we like. We have even added a couple of tokens so we can add to the number of people that can play. The rules vary, depending on how well you understand them, so we are certain to clarify rules amongst players at the start. Fun for young and old alike!

Simply the Best We've Seen!
My wife and I purchased this set after playing Mexican Train for some time with friends and relatives. We also purchased a set from Walmart, found it didn't compare with the quality and color of these dominoes so we returned it. We've used it for over two years, and we still favor it over any set we've seen or used elsewhere. The colors are large and bright, making them easy to distinguish. The weight is just right for us. We've used it on wood, cloth, and granite surfaces; and we find it slides easily. There is some wear on the white surfaces after so much use, but nothing unexpected. We've dropped them onto our wood floors and no damage has occurred. We feel that this domino set is near perfect. If I had a complaint, it would be that the small train sound and whistle is loud and somewhat disturbing, so we don't use it. On the other hand, our grandchildren love the sound it makes!

Good but not perfect
A good set with only two slightly negative comments. The dominoes have a heavy substantial feel to them which I like. But, the double set has two different sizes of dots and that’s a little less than perfect. In other words had one set of 12 with one size dots and the second set of 12 are different. For the price it would’ve been better for them to actually match. Also the hub is thin crystal clear plastic and can be hard to see on the table, Plus it just doesn’t seem substantial . That’s a really small nit.

Zero Quality Control Issues, Lots of Awesome
I spent hours reading reviews on sets that had issues like missing pieces or off color dots. This set is awesome. All dominoes were there, the dots are brightly colored, the dominoes are a nice professional size, and not one single quality control issue. I specifically wanted a set that did not have a large center piece or one that would make annoying noises. Adults only playing here. I'm so glad I found this set. Just subtracting one star because the centerpiece is clear, maybe I'll spray paint it. I also have a double 15 numeral set from this same manufacturer and its great too. I like these Puremco dominoes.

Fun and Educational!
We bought this domino game for our 6 year old son who is beginning to learn patterns and counting in his Kindergarten class. We already own a Mexican Train game but it has the actual numbers on the dominoes so we figured this would be more educational for our son. My only complaint is the cheap plastic piece used in the center. Our other Mexican train game has a nice raised plastic center piece while this one is basically flat see through acrylic. The train that comes with it has a keychain attached to it for some odd reason but the train sound does work so that's not a huge deal. All in all, a good buy and we are happy with the purchase.

Mexican Train Dominoes - a great value
I was in need of a new Mexican Train dominoes set and I kept going back to this one. I am impressed. What impresses me is the colors used for each number - they are all the same per number - my old set had two different yellows for the six for instance - and the colors are the same for each in this set I bought. I like the storage case as well even more than my old one which was a metal box and got battered too easily. What would have been nice was to have a sample of the scoring paper that I have seen. Oh and the trains are great- I have not had orange or purple before so these are a great addition to my trains that I have.

Great set for Mexican Train play.
These are dominoes and items used to play Mexican Train (plastic trains and central plastic holder and train "stations" for eight players). Double 12 means there are dominoes enough to play down from the double twelve domino, though we usually start at some lower denomination double to make the game end faster. The dominoes are 5/16 inch thick, thick enough to stand on their sides during the game play. I purchased the set with domino "dots", but did see you can get a set with numbers printed on the domino instead of "dots". There might be a little less confusion about matching domino ends with the numbers.
