Non-adjustable
It's not that the product is made poorly, but these are not adjustable. Unless your finger is pretty thick, the ring twists around while you're using it, which defeats the purpose of a yarn guide. My pointer finger is a size 6 and this was laughably loose.

Too big for my little index finger.
Disliked - too big

Not for thin fingers
I saw that this was a little large for some people, and I found other products that had multiple sizes, but this one seemed to be the best quality so I still wanted to try it. Unfortunately, it really is too big and goes past my second knuckle just a tad too far for me to use this comfortably. Knitting 2-color stranded knitting in both hands (dominant color continental style, background color English flicking style) still gives me the most control.

Hard to keep tension
I bought this thinking it would be the answer to my stranded knitting woes. At first, it seemed good, but then when I started to get into my project I found the ring slipping on my finger and the tension getting wonky. The ring slips on my finger too.

This is an indispensable tool for two color knitting if you knit Continental Style!
This knitting thimble made two color knitting possible for me! I knit Continental Style and could not get the tension right with two strands of yarn feeding over my left index finger. The knitting thimble has solved the tension problem and also keeps the yarns perfectly separated. My floats on the back of the work are now beautiful and even too! Make sure you watch parts 01, 02 and 03 of the YouTube video Colorwork and the Norwegian Knitting Thimble by Dankfiber before you start practicing with it. The first video shows you how to wear the ring and (so important) how to thread the wire eyelets. Part two of the video shows how to catch floats using the thimble. Part three gives other colorwork tips including an important tip about handling twisted stitches made by catching floats. The Knitting Thimble takes some time invested in learning and practice, but this is an indispensable tool for Continental Style Knitters. As to sizing, the thimble fits my left index finger perfectly. If I needed the ring smaller, I'd probably buy a ring adjuster or ring insert.

Finger saver for one who crochets and knits all the time!
I don't know why I didn't look for this sooner! This knitting thimble is great for knitting and crocheting. The thimble allows the yarn to pass to the needle/hook without causing an indent on your finger. There have been many times where I was obsessed with finishing my project and would end up with a sore pointer finger from having the yarn wrapped around it and the friction causing my finger to feel raw. This thimble solves that problem instantly! I had a bit of a tough time adjusting to the thimble. I crochet with my left hand and wrap the yarn around the fingers of my right. Trying to follow the picture but reversing it to accommodate my left-handedness posed a bit of a problem. Weaving the yarn through the loops was no problem, but getting the yarn in the right place so that it would move seamlessly was a bit difficult but once you have it figured out, you can knit or crochet away with no problem at all. I've only had the thimble for a few days but I know it's one of the best investments for me personally and I'll enjoy it for years to come. And if by chance, one is created for a person who is left-handed, even better! But I am very satisfied with the one I have now.

Doubles my crochet speed!
I know that this is meant for stranded knitting, but I use this (and something similarClover Yarn Guide for my pinky) for crochet, and it completely eliminates the problem of dropping the thread off the pinky when I am slipping more thread through. What is more, it reduces the strain on my forefinger. I have more yarn than is good for any one person, and this item is actually allowing me to convert said yard into a block-style coverlet at a much faster rate than I could have dreamed. (I am working in worsted weight, not cotton thread.) I do work in metal, so eventually I will make one to fit me, or I will just take one of these, anneal it properly, and shape it on a mandrel to contour it for the most comfortable position on my finger. Until then, this is terrific for me personally to keep the yarn from falling off during repositioning, making it smooth and seamless, so I can really speed those blocks along. I have a knitting project coming up soon in which I will use it for thinner stranded knitting, and I will revise my review when I do.

Good if you have large hands
It's a good product if you have large hands. I wear a size 5 on my ring finger and this is huge on my index finger. If I wrap vet wrap around my finger so it fits properly then it works great for keeping two working yarns seperated. I see lots of other reviews about people using it for tension which I'm sure can be gerry rigged but that's not what this is meant for. Wish it came in a few sizes so I could get one that fit better.

Good for purpose.
Using it for double knit or less weight yarn. Helps provide uniform tension while crocheting. I’m a relative newbie so it’s a help definitely. I saw a video on you tube that shows how to use it.

Not great.
I think it's too big for my finger. It sits too far back so I can't use it.

Let's not twist again....
Really great for coloured knitting. I knit the continental way cos it's quicker. When I am doing fairisle type work, then I use both methods at once. I was working with three colours - not strictly fair-isle but it's want I wanted to do. I used one of these to hold two of the yarns to my left for knitting the continental way. The main colour was in my right hand. I found it easy to pick the yarn I wanted from the pair on the left as this kept them nicely separated. Also it was easy to drop or lift them to catch them in on the back of work when they were being stranded too far. If none of this makes sense to you probably don't need one of these! It took a bit of practise to get used to. It made the colour work a lot easier. I don't suppose the recipient of the garment will appreciate the trouble it takes... they never do unless they see you night after night *knitting and cursing and un-picking and knitting. Repeat from * til done.
