Perfect!

Beautiful reproduction. I sprayed the wall mount bronze to match my decor. I mounted it over my sink because I know it will drip a little after use. I put soft soap in it and so far so good.

Looks so cute in my retro bathroom

It looks great but...takes more than a few pumps to get the liquid to come out and it drips a little. BUT...it looks so cute I just put a little saucer on the shelf under it and that catches any drips so...I like it!

reasonable reproduction

Opinions reflect expectations. When you were in school, someone cleaned the bathrooms every day after you went home. Now you're your own janitor, so you notice this one leaks and think it's defective. Of course it leaks! It's a gravity-feed spring-loaded liquid dispenser. Duh! And so what? So does bar soap. That's why you use a soap dish. So put a sponge under this and, depending on location, use it to do the rest of your janitorial tasks, or wash your dishes or bathe yourself. Grow up. And, yes, of course put PTFE tape on the threads joining globe and dispenser mechanism. That's what holds the soap inside and you can't expect threads alone to seal. Don't you tape every ungasketed threaded connection that might leak or seize? Don't you always do that just as a matter of course? No? Then your expectations are unrealistic and your opinion piffle. That said, this isn't as well-made as old ones. Plastic screw threads are slightly off so the globe doesn't seat quite flush (which may be why some find it difficult to remove if they've tried screwing it down flush, which is too tight). My plunger end cap fell off in transit and only stayed on when I peened over the protruding bit, also necessary to keep the protruding bit from poking my hand, which is testament to sloppy manufacturing tolerances. All in all this is a noticeable step down in quality and appearance from the 50-year-old one it replaces, except that that one was made of crap metal that started pitting and dissolving into gray goo within a year, eventually corroding into uselessness, while this one has been in daily use for > a year without any sign of corrosion. It's less æsthetically pleasing than the old one, but might last longer. Update: I spoke too soon. Thoroughly flushing all the soap out of the metal dispenser reveals unmistakable corrosion abscesses inside full of that familiar gray goo showing that this one, like the old one, is chrome-plated garbage metal. That's irresponsible for a plumbing fixture when brass and stainless steel are readily available. I'll keep using this until, like the old one, it rots away to uselessness, but my new rating reflects my disappointment.

Looks great, but…

Very easy to install, and looks great.. but.. it leaks onto the counter like many other users said. I had to place a saucer below to catch the soap puddles. It also clogs up at the tip where the soap comes out and you have to almost run your fingers around it each use to get it to not build up with soap. Overall, I’ll keep it for now because I don’t feel like patching the holes in my wall from the install.

Great "Liquid" Soap Dispenser

I have read other reviews on this soap dispenser and they say it drips. Yes this type of dispenser will leak a few drops after each use. This is due to being a gravity feed unit. when the plunger is pushed up the soap flows down the plunger shaft. When you release the pressure on the push plunger a small amount of soap remains on the push plunger. This small amount will leave a few drips on your sink or counter. while washing your hands you can wipe your hand over the drips. This is a great soap dispenser. These soap dispensers are the same ones that where used when I worked in a school in the 80s. If you use the proper soap it also helps. I use Array liquid all-purpose handwash. This soap can be purchased at GFS. Now the trick is add about 1/4 part water to 3/4 soap. This will thin the soap down enough that it will flow out without squeezing the top container bulb. Just keep in mind that this is a liquid gravity feed unit and yes there will be a couple or few drops after each use. I and my wife love this soap dispenser.

Very helpful

I really like this soap dispenser! It helps to have things off the RV bathroom counter so when we travel, I don't have to remember to secure anything. I think it's a great quality, solidly constructed product. I only gave four stars rather than five because the gel soap I used (Method refill) seems too thick, and it does get clogged up. I can add a little water to thin it, so it's fine. Just something to note. I would recommend it!

Not junk!

This is a quality unit, with metal pieces and not all plastic. I had bought a different unit from a different supplier a couple of years ago and at the time I thought it was ok because it was so light, being all plastic. Well the seals wore out pretty fast and I needed a new one. This one you can tell very quickly is built better and will last longer. Yes its a couple of dollars more, but its made to last. I would definitely buy again though now hopefully won't have to.

I LOVE the look in my small bath. It seems to be a bit stingy when dispensing soap, but I can live with that. There are no drips and I love having it off of the vanity top

Love these! Stylish and functional.

These are great, functional and stylish soap dispensers. They are old school style to add that touch of vintage to any bathroom! They not only save counter space by being mounted to the wall, but stand out! They are solid metal construction and heavy. While mine don't leak but they do drip right after using them. It is just the design but I wipe them down after each use. I am glad I purchased these. EDIT (April 13, 2022): I still love these however, as a warning to anyone, be careful on the type of soap you use. Soap that is slightly acidic, specifically cheap soaps like the pink lotion hand soap (which I used), will corrode the valve and dissolve it. Use a good quality hand soap or all natural. I did some research after trying to figure out why they were corroding. It dissolved the entire valve and rendered it useless. Had to buy new ones. I still love them but will no longer be using the pink lotion hand soap used in commercial or institutional settings. I am now using method brand which is natural.
