For very curly hair
It is a bit heavy for my hair, or my curls. It definitely works to recoil your curls if used properly. With product in, scrunch the hair you are attempting to save the curls in, here you can observe the curls recoiling.

Been Deva Curl Gurl for 10 years
I have been using Deva Curl exclusively for 10 years now. Wow did I love it up till about 2-3 years ago when they started messing with it. Just not seeing the difference or any help to my hair with this product. Honestly, I have been noticing a lot of breakage in my hair even with the new formula. I think it is time for me to start getting away from deva curl as my hair loss is up and breakage is bad like I said before. I don’t blow dry my hair and haven’t straighten my hair but maybe 15 times in 2 years. Should have the issues I am having.

Buy it from professional beauty store or Ulta
Love this mask! Make sure you get it from a reputable source such as Ulta or another beauty supply. If you follow the directions and don’t leave it on longer than it says, you shouldn’t have issues. I use it up to twice a week and it made my hair feel much stronger. Using a heat cap made a noticeable difference too. Okay, so as long as the bottle says it’s the new formula.. you should be fine too! And with any type of product ROTATE!!!! Always use a clarifying shampoo when needed. If you use any low poo formulas, you most likely will get build up, regardless of the brand.. I know this isn’t shampoo but everyone is afraid to use DC bec of the lawsuit. Just make sure you remove build up, get it from a trusted source, rotate your products as you should anyways, and then you likely won’t experience sensitive, itchy scalp or hair loss. I have not experienced hair loss significantly, no more than expected. I use several brands and I hardly use the same shampoo twice in a row. Scalp has been healthier than ever this way!

Soft curls!
I actually liked this product a lot, but I'm not sure I would buy it again. I've been lucky enough to try around a dozen salon quality masks over the last year plus. And this DevaCurl mask has landed near the top. Mostly because my hair was noticeably softer and less dry feeling. Not kidding, my husband even noticed it was softer all on his own! The fragrance is nice and pleasant too. I would consider it a light, gender neutral scent; reminiscent of the toiletries I've come across at luxury resorts. Also, I have lots of allergies and eczema on my scalp, and haven't had irritation with any DevaCurls products so far. What I didn't like about this product is I felt the product is quite watery for a mask. So I feel like I use or at least want to use more of it on my hair than other masks. But it also makes me think some types of hair I've known that would do well with a lower viscosity masks like this. The other thing I didn't like about it is I haven't noticed a difference with less frizzes. It is the driest time of year here and my hair was just as frizzy as ever. So while I really liked how much softer my hair feels, I don't think its a big enough bonus for me to switch to this product permanently. If others are saying this mask has qualities you think might help, my all means I would recommend trying it. It is a nice product and I will happily finish off the bottle.

Made my curls look great
My curls could always use some extra help and this recoiling mask added definition and shape to my curls. I used this mask right after getting out of the shower while my hair was still dripping wet. I left the mask in for the full 20 minutes and kept my hair in a shower cap while it sat. After that I rinsed it all out and continued with my normal hair routine. This product smells absolutely amazing, which I really appreciated since the entire process is so long and you have to sit with it in your hair for so long. I probably won't have the patience to do this every week, but will more likely do it every so often when I feel like my curls need a refresh. Overall I am happy with the results. My hair is noticeably more curly and feels really soft. DevaCurl products are known to have protein in them, so if your hair doesn't react well to protein, this may weigh your hair down. This bottle is a bit pricier than I would usually want to spend on a bottle of hair product, but if you want to splurge, this is probably worth it. Also, for anyone who follows the "Curly Girl" regiment, the company reformulated a lot of their products, and this one is not curly girl approved as it contains drying alcohols.
