Coolest way to hang a sword!
Initial thoughts: Very nice piece and sturdy too. The texture is just like the picture, but the finish is a little glorified and is more like the dragon head and dual dragon claws Design Tuscano (the seller) offers which is fine too. The most important part is how well it can hold your swords and it does that very well. It holds my grossly overweight 10lb replica templar sword with just one screw! Considering a functional sword weighs so much less than a replica I can imagine it would even hold the largest two-handed swords. Mounting: Yes I'll admit I was skeptical after reading the previous reviews, and yes the included mounting hardware is... cute. However, the solution is as simple as going to your local hardware store and picking up a better pack of drywall anchors. The ones I used can support up to 50lbs and even use the same size screw as the included hardware, so it fit the keyhole hanger perfectly. And if you really want the extra peace of mind then you can easily flip one of the other keyholes on the back of the claw (see picture). I suggest using only one because it makes leveling much easier. My conclusion: No sword weighs 50+lbs (unless your sword happens to be named Dragonslayer) so at that point the claw itself becomes the weak link. Considering no functional sword (and even many replicas) weighs any more than 10lbs this claw is more than strong enough to accept any sword that'll fit its opening. Some measurements for reference: My sword has a 2" wide blade and fits with room to spare (maybe up to 3"). I've known some one handed swords to weigh as little as 3lbs. 3LBS! And some even UNDER 3 LBS! Which might be less than the claw itself! The largest (and I mean LARGE as in nearly 6ft long) sword I've come across only weighed about 7lbs! I feel like this'll come up since it's a popular sword so a Cold Steel Greatsword also weighs about 7lbs.

Great quality!
Great quality product that's good for painting. After unpacking them I noticed a few very minor chips & one of the screws had to be replaced, but overall you don't even notice it. One of the screw holes on the base was off as well which lead it to be mounted at angle. This had to be resolved by drilling a new screw hole in the correct position. In the end everything turned out fantastic!

Coolest find if you're willing to work out it's downfall.
We are a family that enjoys our family game night of D&D, My son is the dungeon master. So, I wanted to get him a Christmas gift from all the players. I found these dragon talons and knew it would be perfect, even after reading the reviews, I bought it anyway. I took out the tiny screws, and painted them. Then I set them in walnut wood that I cut and hollowed out, filled it with resin to create a portal effect, and added heavy duty hangers on the back and solar torch lights on the front. My son absolutely loved it! It really is a great find!

Looks great on the wall holding a long sword (Braveheart style) ...
Looks great on the wall holding a long sword (Braveheart style) and I have it mounted so the sword is vertical like the picture rather than having the sword horizontal. Depending upon positioning in this manner the claw angles the lower portion of the sword towards or away from the wall. After observing this I made certain to mount it so that the lower portion of the sword angles inward for general safety. However, it mounts in an unusual manner. The back of it has 4 pre-constructed holes for mounting on a single screw head but in various positions. Unlike most objects it does not latch onto 2 screw heads for the additional support but per design all the weight goes on a single screw head. I'd consider this a design flaw when it comes to mounting. This did raise a concern as to whether it would hold or potentially break the claw material and fall potentially leading to damage or other injury given it is holding up a sword. I ended up mounting it to a small board for additional support and weight distribution which was then secured to two studs. Again, it looks great but this is something to consider based on current product design.

Awesome claws!
Bought these for what most are buying them for, to hold a sword. I upgraded the screws that hold the keyhole plate and painted them to suite my taste.

good luck hanging this monster on your wall
These dragon paws are much larger and heavier than expected (the size of a really big man's hand). While they are attractive in appearance, if you're like into GOT, they are completely impractical as decorative "wall hooks." Even if you were to drill the hanging screw into concrete, the design flaw lies in the little keyhole eye-bolts that are where the thing mounts to the wall. They are held on with two almost microscopic screws that are drilled into plaster (or whatever this thing is made of). Structurally, the cantilevered gravitational balance of the claw sticking out perpendicularly from the wall is not supported for even 3 minutes by two tiny screws (Trust me, you do not want this thing dropping off the wall onto your dog's head.; nor do you want to step on the microscopic screws that will end up hiding in your carpet after they are jettisoned from the thing when it rips loose). The item does not rip the drywall mounting screw out of your wall (even when backed by Command strips intended to support 16lbs -- far above the weight of this item..) What happens is that the two little screws rip out of the item, along with the little metal plate they are holding in place, sending the claw careening toward the floor. That's without anything hanging off of it, simply the weight of the structure itself. One positive thing I can say is that the dragon paws themselves are incredibly hardy. After 2 drops to the floor from a 5-foot height, not even a crack. (Except in my dog's head. . . just kidding. Fortunately, he's quick.) In the end, if you're too lazy to send them back, you can set them upright on a table or countertop to make the coolest (and most expensive) toothbrush, necklace, candle, or Thai-stick holder your dorm-mates have ever seen!

Great Product
I purchased the Talons as a gift for a sword collector. These were perfect. They arrived on time, were packaged extremely well. There were no crack or chips. Well worth the price!

Bought for my grandfather who loves dragons and swords
unique sword holders! this went perfect for my grandfathers sword collection. He has 2 sets of these both holding heavy long swords. Still sitting on his wall so they are doing the job. He painted them too because he likes golden dragons with green claws and paint is not falling off. 5/5
