Replaced an old 1500 from 1994
About 10 years ago I need to replace the cartridge on my old 1500 series Monitor. The cartridge was discontinued but I was offered the option of a 1500 to 1700 conversion kit. However 10 years later I needed to replace the entire fixture due to it just looking old. I wanted to replace the fixture without having to tear up my wall. This was actually the best option though it could not be verified with Delta. My only concern is that the new valve cartridge has a nylon stem vs brass and the temperature control is plastic vs a very hard synthetic. Will see how it lasts but since I already had the new cartridge and Bonnet nut. Took 5 minutes to install.

Don’t be misled on the TEMP control
I like this shower controller. I installed it myself. The instructions have you install a plastic gear behind the the snap-on temp control. After I put it together, the water would not get warm enough, even though the temp control knob was all the way to the left. Tried the instructions in the manual and it would not get warmer. The issue is that plastic piece behind the temp control. Govt says it has to be installed to prevent scalding. One more time the govt is messing in your life. I took out that black plastic piece and temp control worked perfectly. Even operates much smoother. The instructions should tell you that it is only necessary if you want a Luke warm shower. Spent way too much time on this needless restriction.

Dual control is a nice feature to have
I didn't install this myself, but apparently it's super easy to mix up the hot and cold, so the first time I used it, I had to turn it to the cold side to get hot water. I had to get it fixed but apparently that wasn't super hard so it's not the end of the world. The temperature control also goes past the sticker so that's a little weird. I still like the functionality and looks of it. It is great to set the temperature and forget it.

Separate temp and volume control. Flow doesn't start until half turned.
Working well for several months now. I like being able to control temperature and pressure. The only negatives are that the temp knob is so stiff that I have to hold the other knob to keep the volume from changing while I change the temp. The other annoyance that dropped it a star is that you have to turn it on about halfway until any water starts to flow making it harder to get the just right volume of water.

It looks great. My teenage daughter is using this shower. She said,”Meh its alright” I ran that by my teen-adult translator (21 yr old son ) He said that means it’s working good.

Great shower valve
I installed this with the rough-in myself in our master bedroom bath. Really liked the stainless finish, quality build and temperature control. The simple yet elegant curves in a classic look has been a hit in our newly installed Sterling Vikrel modular shower replacement. Great fit, form and finish. The plastic temperature handle does not get me twisted up. It works, it looks fine and that's good enough for me. I was glad to be able to order the valve only because I had my own choice for a shower head. Yep good choice for us, glad Amazon offers the Delta product. Amazon is my go-to store.

easy to install
easy to install, my wife is handycapped and can no longer stand to use the shower. she also can not adjust the water so oi modified her garden tub and mounted this control and tge valve on the slanted end of her tub next to the existing fsucet and handles I also added an 8 ft hose with a hand shower head/ Now, with the aid of a tub transfer bench, she can almost get a shower by herself/ Outstanding product

you pay for what you get nowadays...
Installation was easy, all the parts were there to make it happen. issues: the color of the metal, is more of a nickel with a cheap green/yellowish tint to it. its not horrible, but looks fairly cheap. the temp knob is all plastic and as per the older model that was replace, become loose over time and just feels cheap. the hot cold sticker on the handle, already peeling off and was off centered.. why they cant permanently fasten something....again, makes it look cheap.
