Great shower head, weird film on it though

I love this shower head. I bought it for my shower after I had the walls re-done, and it gives it a nice high end feel. I love the water saving options on it; it provides an enveloping curtain of water that does a great job at cleaning. The only thing I didn't like is that there was a weird adhesive film around the edges from the protective wrap that came on it. I had to buy Goo Gone and slowly use it to get rid of it.

This is no rain shower!

I realize this shower head is a lower a GPM, but this is like a light sprinkler. Paid almost 200.00 and very disappointed. I need to call Delta, this can’t be working as designed. Need to get a different style perhaps.

1.75GPM water restriction. Large random drops of water without the pain of a blasting spray.

Shower heads are getting more stingy with water flow. This new one from Delta allows only 1.75GPM, and while that certainly minimizes water use on a minute by minute basis, such low flows generally require a significantly longer shower time or people install two or three shower heads so ultimately water use ends up being about the same. My favorite shower head remains a 1920s porcelain model that has no restriction at all and lets you finish up in a minute or two. I installed this Delta model from an overhead pipe with the head parallel to the floor. I needed to keep a small ladder nearby so I could switch from one setting to the next to find the one I liked best. There are four settings: one uses the innermost ring of openings, the next uses the square openings, and the third uses the outer two rings of openings. The fourth one is a highly restricted flow similar to your simply turning down the shower volume. I liked setting number 3 best. The feel is that of being out in the rain as the water droplets are large and random - this is the opposite of many shower heads these days that have more of a needle like water spray that can be painful on sensitive areas. The ultimate problem remains though that there just isn't enough water at 1.75GPM - a larger individual would need to constantly move about to stay warm. Bottom line is that of shower heads with this high a degree of restriction, this is the best one I've tried out because the H2Okinetic flow fools you into thinking there's more water than there is without being simultaneously painful because of air incorporated into the water flow.

A nice shower upgrade...

The media could not be loaded. This Detla H2Okinetic Shower Head is a replacement shower head that fits most showers, providing an easy and quick upgrade in looks and probably in flow as well. In looks, this is a big shower head that has the appearance of a small rainshower head. It's not a rainshower head. It's more of a traditional shower head, but its large size and handsome appearance match its fairly hefty price and it will almost certainly look a cut above the shower head you currently have in your shower unless you already have a sophisticated shower system, in which case you probably don't need this head. What does this shower head offer beyond looks? Via a valve with a sliding handle in the back of the shower head, three flow patterns (as well as a pause/stop in the flow) are available. Two of the flow patterns are fairly typical. The first is a broad rather rainshower-ish set of sprays using the two outer rings of holes in the shower head. The second is a needle-like, powerful flow from a concentrated set of holes in the inner circle of the shower head. The third and fanciest flow pattern--and other than looks, the reason to get this shower head--comes via the six large rectangular openings between the inner circle and the two outer rings of holes. This flow pattern Delta calls H2Okinetic, and it's an oscillating pattern achieved without moving parts inside the shower head. The oscillating spray is the result of what Delta calls a "vortex" pattern in the waterflow engineered into the path the water takes toward the exit orifice. Watch the end of video I've included for an example of this flow pattern. This is a quality plumbing fixture and an easy upgrade for your bathroom shower. Delta's nearly bulletproof lifetime of original owner warranty applies to this fixture. Make sure you save your receipt

Great when you do one thing.

Nice looking showerhead, good size. The flow selector is very easy and smooth. HOWEVER, the flow rate is very low, once the restrictor is removed the shower head transforms, its great. Unfortuantly they have made it more difficult to remove the flow restrictor but it can be done. Very small flathead and needle nose pliers and patience gets it done.
