Ok, my first order of this little cooker arrived damaged right out of the box (two BB sized nicks in the top plate). I was sorely disappointed as I wanted to try it right away. I called Amazon and they sent me a replacement at no charge, and it arrived the next day! So kudos for Amazon being so responsive! The second cooker arrived in perfect condition. I tried it first making little "onion rings", putting a small amount of mozzarella on the bottom plate, then loaded up the onions, then added more mozzarella on top of onions. I DID have to flip it once to get the top cooked. The problem with this is, the cheese on top melts down to the bottom, and now the top is trying to cook just the exposed onion. But still they were tasty and crunchy. However, I do believe the Dash DOES cook from the top plate as well as the bottom plate, because the next day I put a golf ball sized ball of pork sausage in there, squeezed the top and bottom plates together, flattening the ball. The sausage DID get cooked on both top and bottom without me needing to flip it! One thing these Dash people need to do is put some kind of clip on this thing in order to secure the top and bottom plates close tightly to ensure the top of whatever, gets cooked without flipping. The ball of sausage flattened out but still a bit tall for the top plate to firmly stay down, but I had a small, flat, cast iron pan there on the stove, so I put that on the top of the Dash and the weight kept the top plate down against the sausage. This is why it cooked both sides without flipping, proving that the top plate DOES cook if whatever you have in there is touching it firmly enough. Cooking an egg? Sheesh, really easy and the top plate was just enough to get the white cooked while not over cooking the yolk, unless you want a hard yolk, then just let it cook longer. I thought the Dash was very easy to clean. I did have some grease from that sausage but it wasn't enough to dribble over the bottom plate. I dabbed the grease with a paper towel before picking up the Dash to clean more thoroughly. I just used a damp cloth – no soap. Dried it and before putting away (make sure it's cooled down), I slipped that little piece of paper that came between the plates in the packaging, back between the plates. All-in-all I love my little Dash and am going to use it often.

Great for camping

With such great reviews and a low price, I had to try one of these. As soon as it arrived I wiped off the cooking surface and plugged it in. While waiting for it to heat up (2-3 minutes) whisked an egg (just 1) with a bit of water. When I saw the light go out on the device, I rubbed a little oil on both surfaces with a paper towel and poured in my egg, then closed the top. I checked it after 1 minute, and I could tell it was still a little uncooked even though the top surface had cooked a little. I gave it another minute, and was delighted to see my egg puffing up like a souffle. Of course it "fell" when I opened the lid, but in two minutes time it was cooked perfectly, a lovely round for a sandwich. I fixed soup for dinner and decided to try making cornbread cakes with the Mini-Dash. I flipped them after two minutes and gave them another two minutes. They were golden brown and perfectly done. It's fun offering my wife a plate of these consistently sized delights. I also plugged it into my 500 watt Jackery Power Station. The display read about 280 watts, which is less than their stated 350 watts. But that's fine, it just means less energy from the battery. While we usually camp where there are full hook-ups, later this year we'll be doing a bit of boondocking - no 110 service. And while we still have the gas range onboard, it's just going to be fun and easy to use this for breakfast, eggs, pancakes, most any breakfast meat, polenta, etc. It's a clever device and I'm glad to have found it.

The Dash Mini maker is the perfect tool for preparing great serving sizes for those of us who want to limit proportion sizes. This Dash is perfect for any food program, diet or just plain daily food preparation. I have given these away to family and friends and they are using them often. My son is using it on his weight plan and has lost over thirty pounds in the last few months. No, the dash is not a weight loss tool but it is great for preparing individual servings of everyday food. I cook bacon, hamburgers, eggs, pancakes, waffles, sausage, cheese and so much more. I can't fully express how wonderful I think this is..

Great little cooking aide!

Love this little griddle! I have had the waffle maker version of this for years as well. Makes perfect little pancakes. I thought I would not have to flip the pancakes, you still should if you want evenly browned sides. Still, much easier than dealing with a messy griddle. No need to constantly add oil or butter like a traditional griddle. Also, this helps prevent over and under cooking of my pancakes. My mix was complete--just add water. So, I added a tiny bit of oil to the batter to ensure non-stick. No sticking at all, and it still looked clean after cooking! So, just wipe and stow away! This is great for just the two of us. But, if cooking for a family or group, I suggest getting the messy griddle out! Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because we did not receive the recipe book and recipe database access. It was not included in our box. I used to get so frustrated making pancakes. Now it's a breeze!

Love this product - first of all its in my favorite color - i can make eggs, waffles, pancakes, cookies & even brownies in this thing - its AWESOME!!! Easy to clean, hand wash - I would not recommend the dish washer - price was absolutely perfect - now, go shopping & enjoy this awesome product that your kiddies can use too safely :)

Super efficient

Very Handy

Better than what I had expected. First time making pancakes turned out very good. Only downfall when you flip the pancakes it takes few mins before the light turns on again which is a bit confusing confusing. However not bad, next times I will keep the pancakes thicker and not spread out all the way. I loved it overall esp the size is small easy to store.
