I am so glad I got this rope for our crab trap. Amazon had it as a recommendation when I was buying my crab trap (otherwise I wouldn't have thought about it) and I am so glad I got it! It's super sturdy and strong. Good rope.

As the other buyer said, this is a twist rope and if there's any kind of current, it'll start to twist into a big mess. I have a 25 foot pier/bridge I crab from in Annapolis. This doesn't do well. Go to Target and get a 50' rope for $3.50. It's braided and has a spool you can roll your line around.

Just needed some more line for my crab nets and Amazon had a cheaper price. It's nylon and ties easily and well.

On the small end of 1/4" diameter.

I purchased this line to extend an existing line on a crab trap. This green line is bright and lightweight. The product description says 1/4", but the diameter of the line is smaller, closer to that of a regular usb charging cable. I've tied it at the upper end of my existing line (closest to the surface) just to minimize the odds that gets cut on rocks/reefs. I kept my existing (beefier) line at the bottom. I'm not too worried about its breaking point, but the line is small enough that it's annoying to pull up without gloves, it doesn't offer much grip. It also doesn't hold knots very well, so tie lots. It doesn't sink very well, so I'd definitely recommend attaching a line weight to it if there are l
